QUOTE (Tony82087 @ May 14, 2009 -> 03:24 PM) Whoever or whatever he is, he obviously has been very calculated. Last season "Christian" told Locke he needed to die in order to save the island. I put Christian in quotes because I think it's safe to assume that was Esau as well. He knew Locke was the chosen leader of the new island, which would give him access to Jacob. Knowing this, he wanted to inhabit the body of Locke, so he had him killed in a back ended way, took his body, infiltrated the statue, and had Jacob killed. so then why is Locke's body OUTSIDE the statue? there are 2 locke bodies. That's the confusing part.

QUOTE (daa84 @ May 13, 2009 -> 10:26 PM) seems to me like Jacobs Rival from the beginning needs a dead body as a conduit through which to act.....i think its entirely possible that every dead person we've seen (Christian, Mr. Eko's brother, Claire?, Alex in the temple, potentially even off island dead people Hurley has seen) has been the manifestation of this person...so confused after this episode...but tonights episode felt like a Lost from the first season or two.....it will really suck waiting so long for the next one well jacob can leave the island whenever he wants, we should assume "Esau" can too. so yeah, he was Christian for Jack, the dead people for Hurley. I'm NOT sure that Claire's dead anymore, because Alana said "it looks like someone's been living here" at the cabin. Well Claire was chillin' with her dad in the cabin. Maybe she's actually alive? Cuz Christian - if he really is "Esau" wouldn't be living there - he'd be going all over the place constantly.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 13, 2009 -> 08:43 AM) The pen was just awesome. They stole that game for us. Its also nice to see Thome coming alive. I think he is up about .035 in his batting average over the last few days. If he gets going, this team is tough to beat with the hitters they have around him. The Sox are close to being at full strength with Anderson due back, and TCQ coming back Friday, and they are not far out of this by any stretch of the imagination. optimism? you're on the wrong board.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ May 12, 2009 -> 06:45 PM) http://mlb.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=452121 Question answered. Now quit embarrassing yourself with this weak defense of Lillibridge. lol you are thoroughly entertaining sometimes.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ May 12, 2009 -> 06:42 PM) Does there have to be a legitimate, quantifiable reason to dislike someone? Well, first he's atrocious, second he's likely in the lineup more for Williams' ego than anything else, and third, he looks like a child. Someone needs to kidnap him from the playground with candy. He should take some HGH, too. yeah, frankly.

QUOTE (tommy @ May 12, 2009 -> 06:41 PM) Curses aside, it is not Brent's fault hes on a major league squad right now, I agree. if any one of us were in his shoes, would you walk up to Ozzie and ask to be demoted? Hell f***ing no. Cut the kid some slack.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ May 12, 2009 -> 06:39 PM) I don't know how all Sox fans collectively regard Lillibridge, but he's on a fast track in my mind to surpass the hatred I held for Koch. i don't really get why this is... how is any of this his fault per se?

QUOTE (WHarris1 @ May 12, 2009 -> 06:33 PM) No I'm not surprised I just get visibly angry when I see his f***ing face but he's so adorable

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 12, 2009 -> 05:09 PM) To be honest, I would use a yoga day to work on your core as a whole including your lower back muscles as well. tried doing bikram yoga on a consistent basis - that s*** beat me up. 100+ degree room for 90 minutes. By the end you're just dead. but it is really great. I just didn't have time/$$ for it at that point. maybe some day.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 12, 2009 -> 03:53 PM) Depends on what parts of your back you want to work. For lower back, non-weight stuff like planks, supermans, and that thing where you lean against a pad and arch over with your bodyweight are great. For weights for lower back, do an upright row - the one with the close grip on a cable. For upper back, I like lat pull-downs (with biceps too), but make sure you don't lean back so much. Also don't do behind the neck on that one - it works well but can damage your shoulders. various reverse row type machines work well for mid and upper back, and rear of the shoulder. Trap raises for traps. coolio. thanks. I did my running this morning, then had a dance audition for a show i got called back for so i've done my share of exercise already today. Here's hoping I can actually stick the f*** with it.

actually i'm interested about the cost of eating healthy - does anybody have tips on getting good bang for your buck? I just graduated college and have no job - so i'm poor. but being an actor, i have to bulk myself up anyway, at least a little bit so i'm not so scrawny. how much per trip to the grocery store do you all spend, and how often do you go?

Alrighty - well I'm starting week 1 of my new workout plan. I modeled it off of a program called Body for Life. I'm probably of the ectomorph variety too - and a short motherf***er. 5' 7" 135/40 (don't actually own a scale so that's as of December). Looking to add muscle mass, bulk up. The hardest part for me is the eating - simply because to increase my intake to 3000 calories a day is bloody expensive. But my training regimen is as such: Weights 3 days a week, Run a 20 minute, Intensity-based program on the 3 days in between. It's not about distance because of the reasons previously mentioned in this thread. the last day i do jack s*** and love it. Ok so i gonna be focusing on all my muscle groups, but i was wondering if you guys have any good back workouts? i've always sort of ignored this in the past.

QUOTE (BearSox @ May 11, 2009 -> 10:28 PM) No, the ideal is: Ricky Henderson (LF), Micky Mantle (CF), Babe Ruth (DH), Lou Gherig (1B), Joe Dimaggio (RF), Roger Hornsby (2B), etc curse you.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 11, 2009 -> 09:50 PM) I was talking about Getz 3-4 years down the road if some of the young guys can come into their own. The ideal 1-2-3 is Danks, Beckham, and Quentin. Ideal is Danks, Getz, Beckham, Quentin, Allen/Viciedo, etc
-
QUOTE (fathom @ May 11, 2009 -> 09:01 PM) He's an ideal #9 hitter. fathom come on. if he's an "ideal" #9 hitters then very, very few teams in the major leagues have ideal #9 hitters. he'll grow to be a fine leadoff or 2 hole guy.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ May 10, 2009 -> 05:26 PM) Have fun. If those of you think this will actually teach MLB a lesson, you've gotta be smoking something. to extrapolate, it's an attitude like this that would've kept MLK from speaking up. It's an attitude like this that would've kept Obama from running for president. It's an attitude like this that would've kept Rosa Parks in the back of the bus. In other words, if you're not racist, you'd better flippin' vote for Lastings Milledge.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 10, 2009 -> 02:18 PM) Ugh, so they'll use Broadway instead? No reason to pitch Richard in relief here and then have to use Broadway, as that's hurting us in a future game when we're likely losing today. this management makes literally every WRONG decision they can. it's actually borderline comical. -
at lunch yesterday i was with my mom, dad and brother, and ALL 3 were on their respective phones as soon as we sat down. I was like... wow... this coming from my dad who used to yell at me for looking at my phone at dinner - AT HOME - much less at a restaurant.

QUOTE (scenario @ May 10, 2009 -> 12:41 PM) FWIW, on the season, the Sox are outdrawing Cleveland by about 3,500 per game so far. ouch. that stings.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 10, 2009 -> 12:33 PM) Well, I was just pulling his leg, as I often do... But he said exactly that... "I disagree with him occasionally, but I agree he is a very good poster." Implying that he is a very GOOD poster, but not a top 5 poster (perhaps because Dick disagrees with him occasionally). It's all in good fun....
