May 6, 200916 yr That's what "Red Sox Nation" and the Sons of Sam Horn have in mind anyway... Courtesy Yahoo! Sports Part of me doesn't hate the idea... Every year MLB has players eligible who aren't even major leaguers anymore, or who haven't played a game all season (A-Rod). Why are they eligible? Very silly.
May 6, 200916 yr QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 6, 2009 -> 01:49 PM) Seriously, SoxTalk needs to get in on this... I agree. Everyone complains about the system, do your part.
May 6, 200916 yr I really love this idea. Having someone like Milledge voted into the all-star game would force MLB's hands in changing the system.
May 6, 200916 yr Author we should really and try to mobilize this - between us and the Red Sox fans, we're probably the most dedicated voting blocks out there... it's possible.
May 6, 200916 yr Rory Fitzpatrick finished 3rd in voting amongst western conference defensemen in '07, he finished the season with 7 points. He was something like 25,000 votes shy of a starting spot. Of course it's believed that the NHL just rigged the voting to keep him out of the game which is likely exactly what the MLB would do if Milledge were voted a starter.
May 6, 200916 yr Would have worked better if we'd voted in Jerry owens last year. He was our starting LF, after all!

May 6, 200916 yr Author QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 6, 2009 -> 02:45 PM) Would have worked better if we'd voted in Jerry owens last year. He was our starting LF, after all! the problem there was none of us was willing to NOT vote for Q, now that we have nothing to lose it's the perfect time.
May 6, 200916 yr Author QUOTE (BearSox @ May 6, 2009 -> 02:46 PM) Yankees and Cubs are up there as well. they have numbers, we have aggressiveness and dedication. Pods and AJ, need I say more?
May 6, 200916 yr QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 6, 2009 -> 01:49 PM) Seriously, SoxTalk needs to get in on this... Count me in! UPDATE: Cast my votes Edited May 6, 200916 yr by Athomeboy_2000
May 6, 200916 yr I doubt the MLB would rig the voting, cause theres no way they could justify it, or even deny it. The best case scenario is that this gets them to take him off the ballot. but of course they will leave A-Rod on it... I think there's almost no way A-Rod starts this season, but I honestly believe had the steroid stuff not come out, a-Rod would be getting the millions of votes even though he's out for the first month...
May 10, 200916 yr Have fun. If those of you think this will actually teach MLB a lesson, you've gotta be smoking something.
May 10, 200916 yr Yeah! WOO! Let's prove to Major League Baseball that we're stupid and that they shouldn't pay attention to what we think!

If those of you think this will actually teach MLB a lesson, you've gotta be smoking something. to extrapolate, it's an attitude like this that would've kept MLK from speaking up. It's an attitude like this that would've kept Obama from running for president. It's an attitude like this that would've kept Rosa Parks in the back of the bus. In other words, if you're not racist, you'd better flippin' vote for Lastings Milledge.
