A message for K.W.?
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 05:17 PM) The one in-house option is moving Ramirez to CF, but given how Ozzie has raved about his defense, that won't happen and I agree they shouldn't do that. Nothing more valuable than a SS who can hit and field at a high level. I'm not saying Ramirez has proven himself but the Sox clearly believe he'll do that. If Getz is ready, than a Getz/Fields combo is the way to go. Heck, my biggest concern offensively, sans the leadoff spot, is Carlos Quentin. Mechanically his swing is off and the bat speed is noticeably slower. My hope is that is because he's still recovering to baseball shape following the injury and that he will continue improve until he is back at 100%, but currently he looks like a shell of the player we saw last year. after one game. though actually i agree with you. i think he's in for a down year.

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 04:15 PM) What's bad is some Sox fans will root against him. They see all this upside to getting BA in their quicker, so much so that they're willing to risk some wins for it. no, i'm not willing to risk wins - if he's up in a crucial situation of COURSE i'll want him to succeed. but in all other instances i want a K.

Obama Defends Bush Wiretapping
QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 7, 2009 -> 07:38 PM) NSA actually - what I'll say here (I don't really feel like doing extra research here, after a while all of these expose' type articles start looking the same) is that EO 12333 still applies and the NSA, or any other intelligence agency doesn't arbitrarily spy on US citizens. At least it's not supposed to, if someone gets caught doing that then they're in big trouble. but the point of this is that they WOULDN'T be in big trouble. that's the kicker.

Morrissey game column...
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 7, 2009 -> 07:04 PM) http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chi-0...,1201846.column By the way, why in God's name wouldn't you use Mahay or even Juan Cruz in that situation against Thome? There's no way that Farnsworth is a better pitcher at this point in his career than Cruz...Kyle always seems to implode (very conveniently) against the White Sox. haven't we talked about this in like 3 or 4 threads already? i know it's opening day and we're excited... but man.

Obama Defends Bush Wiretapping
QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 7, 2009 -> 07:31 PM) Yeah it's really not as simple as it's dumbed down to being by the time it reaches the media. i get that. but at the same time, i think what it amounts to is Obama and his head of the CIA both being outsiders. The CIA doesn't want to lose the power its amassed in the Bush admin, and Obama doesn't want to pick a fight, or stand in the way of the agency, so he's rolling over and letting them get what they want. Gah.
