QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 12:21 PM) Duque is ONE year older, and was hurt alot of the second half. Still confident? i wasnt confident with him before last season either. but he held it together well enough. ALSO remember that if the Count is as good this year as he was the end of last, he should make up for the slip in Duque. beginning of last year Duque was unhittable and the Count was the Count. Now reverse it and you end up with the same net wins/losses theoretically

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 11:12 AM) Stop gap? Stop gap? Keep saying that in your head, and then picture Arnie Munoz, Felix Diaz and Danny Wright in your head. Calulate how many wins that loses us and come back to me. Our team is stronger and better with our pitching intact, than it would be if we traded one of them for a little more offense. Apparently nobody watched us win the WS last year? Now everyone wants some boppers and we can "fill in" some SP i agree with you BUT duque was our 5th starter last year and we won the WS... keep that in mind. granted BMAC held it up at the end of the year, but with our improved offense maybe we'll win some more of those one run games ya know?

QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 10:21 AM) If you had the choice between either Tejada or Uribe, I'd gladly say adios to Uribe. Tejada's one of the best players in baseball. i wouldnt. Uribe plays with his heart and is, for lack of a better word, a grinder. i dont want tejada's attitude on this team. Look where the Yankees have gotten with all their superstars! no where since 2000! and that was before Johnson, ARod, Sheffield etc etc

QUOTE(SpringfieldFan @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 09:35 AM) I could go three ways. Konerko simply because he chose to come back for the fans, city, and kids. Buehrle because he is flat out in love with the team and fans. Crede because of how he stepped up at the plate, in the field, and between the ears. Oh crap, make it four: AJ for being the shepherd of this team when the pressure was on. I think if I get a jersey with a name on the back, I will just use a "name" that struck me this winter: "THOMERKO" SFF love the Thomerko idea - thats pretty sweet yeah i'm sorta starting to latch on to crede and AJ too... i was at Game 2 of the ALCS - that game with THE aj play and crede's "walkoff" (i thought it was a homer at first) I almost think i'm gonna have to say crede... bizarre... i used to hate the guy.

i totally forgot about timo! i dunno, see MB is up there on my list cuz of his attitude and his tarp sliding and that time he got thrown out and he was giving everyone high fives as he left. love that. AJ rocks cuz of the same sort of things. but i loved frank cuz he was synonymous with White Sox. we dont have that now. you could try and say Paulie but.. i dont know. maybe it'll become paulie but i think it's something that will just happen over time. *runs off to seek therapy*

so i was looking at my profile and i saw favorite sox player: frank thomas i then went to switch him into 'favorite ex-sox player' then thought, "who's gonna fill franks spot?" so i looked at the white sox roster and realized... no one. i dont have another favorite player. ( I did but it was Rowand...) what do I do? i cant not have a favorite sox player can i? this is bizarre...

QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 02:29 PM) From reading Soxy's joke in the other thread it got me thinking. Most kids I know in late grammer school or high school are against Bush. Why do you think this is? I know my brother-in-law, always says things like Bush is an idiot. Bush will screw it up....blah blah blah. Bush lies about everything. He is 18 years old and just started college. He never ever watches the news, reads the paper or looks at anything on the internet other than sports. So how did he get this attitude? My in laws aren't really into politics, so it's not like they sit around discussing things at the table. I'm guessing he gets it from his teachers and I'm guessing for him to have such animosity they weren't just teaching and letting the kids decide, they were imposing their opinions. Right? Wrong? Does anyone know any teenagers that embrace conservatism without conservative parents? i personally think it's a gross overgeneralization. to just assume that it comes from the teachers is just (most likely) wrong. I find it much more likely that, since most kids are more democratic they talk as such. the kid in question hears all this and so their opinions become his. have more respect for the integrity of teachers. the vast majority of them do their jobs well and try to be as unbiased as possible.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 10:17 PM) DRays probably don't want to shell out ~$7 mil for one year of Jon. They need something to build on (McCarthy). good call

QUOTE(toonses22 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 11:38 AM) That was awesome! But seriously, does anyone know where I can download the video of World Series winning hit? do you mean the groundout that ended the game?? or what? cuz if so its on the sox main site...

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 10:29 PM) So many good quotes.... "Sanka mon, ya dead?" "Ya mon." wow such an amazing movie! it never gets old

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 10:51 PM) You'd probably spend alot more time getting a free pop out of it than just working and earning the dollar yourself. yeah but you gotta admit its LOT cooler this way!

fank what can i say? you are my favorite player and it's because of you i got into baseball and the white sox. i have a framed pic of you in my room and a little statue dude and a ton of your baseball cards - and your autographed rookie which i got in person. so many memories tied to you and this club and it makes me sad to think i'll be seeing you in a different uniform next year. thanks for all the good times and i'm so glad you got that ring!
-
Aaron we're gonna miss you. you were the epitome of what got us to the world series this year - we didnt have all the talent but we worked hard, and none worked harder than you. I'll miss the guy - a lot. I'll miss him catching literally EVERYTHING in CF... he was one of my favorites...

QUOTE(Sox1422 @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) I'm sick of the chemistry BS. Winning produces good chemistry. Not to mention Ozzie Guillen does his part. I like the deal. chemistry's a real thing dude. last year there is NO WAY we're the most talented team in baseball - but chemistry, good managing and pitching got us all the way. cant be denied -

see i'm worried about the Chemistry being f***ed. without rowand are Pierz and Crede (especially Crede) as loose and funloving and - well - good? i dunno and it worries me.
