2 1sts was always going to be the minimum. The rest is nothing. KC did slightly better with Mahomes because they went from 27, but it was still 2 1sts and a 3rd. People throw the term "overpay" around too much. This was a completely reasonable trade and the price of doing business with 2 top QBs on the board. (edit) And people can look back at my history on this board. I have thrashed Pace repeatedly for terrible trades. Trubisky was horrible.

Bears could be bad next year, but they could also easily be mediocre. This year they killed themselves by not losing a few more games. One good thing about no 1st round pick, no incentive to lose. I think they play it slow. Dalton is going to play the Alex Smith role.

Maybe a slight overpay. But if fields is a top QB its worth much more than 1 1st. Bears got a little lucky on how the picks fell.

Trubisky was stupid even if they didnt trade up. This makes sense. You can never be sure, Jones could be better but Fields talent us legit.

Fields it is, you get the guy who was considered so good at the college level that last years #1 transferred because he was going to be the back up. Mac Jones probably dinged for athleticism. Fields can cover up a lot of the Bears oline weakness.

Slight overpay, but they get their choice of Jones or Fields. Im fine with either, but Im thinking Fields.

Hes quoting Schlereth, but he is considerably more legitimate than a lot of people who are quoted here.

Bears getting a franchise QB and Rodgers being traded would be one of the best days in Bears history. Therefore it wont happen.

I rarely post in Pale Hose Talk because it's just not as fun as other parts of the site, but I feel it has gotten significantly worse this year. Half a life time ago we used to get upset about bad losses etc, but there was always some humor to go along with it. Always felt 2005 changed things. Who knows it's been so long now people have disappeared, reappeared and then disappeared again.

I love your optimism, but after the signing of Dalton it seems impossible to go for another QB. Bears need to trade down, get more picks and take a risk on a QB in later rounds.

The Bulls are going to get the 5th pick and its going to hurt to the core. Everything after 1999 is the price the Bulls paid for having MJ.

When they traded this years first this was my fear.

No one besides Vuc/Lavine know how to score and Atlanta started triple teaming Lavine and letting the rest of the Bulls brick every shot.

I agree, just wish that he could have partially turned the corner with the Bulls. Would have made him way more valuable in trade talks.
