  1. Barely watch wrestling anymore but my friend came over and we watched Rumble last night. First, I wouldnt cancel your WWE subscription. The thing is stupidly under priced so may as well keep yourself locked into that rate. Whoever priced it wasn't thinking because the PPV alone is worth more than the monthly subscription Second, pretty uninspiring rumble but you could see that coming with how long the woman's match was. Third, the Roman Reigns victory was pretty predictable and trotting Rock out there to try and win over the fans didn't help. I think at this point they should just have his character turn against the fans and join HHH/Stef. Do some sort of storyline where HHH pays off Heyman to sabotage Lesner at Mania so that Reigns wins. Then have Reigns cheat/etc to keep his title the next few months and have Daniel Bryant be his antagonist. Its stupid to go against the tide, if fans hate someone take advantage of it.
  2. After reading this thread I kind of am reminiscing about the old ootp days.
  3. Nice to reed Moore is doing good. I liked him out of Purdue.
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 17, 2015 -> 06:45 AM) In the why didn't you do this a couple of years ago department, According to public records, Ricketts has bought 3 rooftop buildings and businesses. The cubs being bad made a lot of those rooftops less valuable. I think some of them may have even been close to filing BK. So in an ironic twist, the Cubs terribleness may have made it easier to buy them.
  5. Smart decision by Jones. I can see a team falling in love with him and taking a shot at him late 1st or early second. He is athletic and has shown pretty impressive poise in the 3 games he started.
  6. I dont believe Oregon has attacked down field since the second dropped pass. Running up the middle just isnt a great plan against OSU.
  7. Dont love the Oregon play calling there. I think you drop back to pass because then Mariotta is a dual threat.
  8. It appears Oregon is using a LB on the slot. And big drive for OSU.
  9. Seeing as NYE is one of my least favorite events I welcome our new NFL overlords.
  10. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 9, 2015 -> 10:54 AM) I took it as it is silly to place blame on Charlie Hebdu staff for "provoking" these attacks, as seen by the later attacks. These aren't logically motivated attacks, they are hitting "western" symbols, so you can't change your behavior as they will just find something else to fight about. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 9, 2015 -> 10:54 AM) I think he's saying, in one way or another, that we -- as a society -- shouldn't tolerate them having to be afraid to print them if they choose to do so. And if he's not saying it, I am. We, as a people, and as a government shouldn't tolerate any publication having to be afraid to print this sort of thing, because some wackados may not like it. Because if it's not this they're opportunistically offended by, it'll be about something else. These would be correct.
  11. Are we now going to blame the hostages for being or associating with Jews in France, because being Jewish is offensive to certain people? This is why you have to confront terror with defiance, because they can't be reasoned with.
  12. Thats why we do what we can. Even if its just 1000 people on a random message board, you try and get the message out, because thats all I can do.
  13. Last time I was there it was mainly benches. Pretty much all good seats, just try not to sit too high up in the rafters.
  14. The real purpose of the icon is to show that at the end of the day, it is up to individuals to stand behind their own ideals. Its easy for a group to target a single newspaper, its nearly impossible for a group to target individuals spread across the world. If more people see the cartoon because of the attack, then in the end, the terrorists have lost.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 7, 2015 -> 01:40 PM) It is a different scenario, Favre was actually GOOD for the Packers. If a possible franchise QB is available, you take him. And Winston at 7 is a crazy good value, he should be a top 1-2 pick. I think he could be a top 10 NFL QB, I doubt he will ever be a top 5 and most likely will be a mid range QB. Is that worth a top 10 pick? In my opinion not really, given how often QBs get injured etc, I would always rather trade down and get more talent when rebuilding. But that is just my personal preference.
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 7, 2015 -> 01:37 PM) Sounds like a reason why the Packers shouldnt have drafted Rodgers. If a possible franchise QB is available while you pick you take him. Rodgers wasnt top 10, he was 24. If the Bears were picking 24 and Winston was there id say you have to take him. Completely different scenarios. (edit) Also if the Bears could trade down to 24, get a 1st round next year in the process, Id say take Winston at 24. But the thing is, Rodgers fell and so the Packers were getting extreme value at the pick. Winston at 7 isnt an extreme value.
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 7, 2015 -> 01:29 PM) Sure you can. The goal is to build a long-term winner. If you have a shot at a guy you think is the franchise QB, you take him, no questions asked. We know we don't have a franchise QB on the roster currently. I dont see how you are building a long term winner by investing a top 10 pick in a QB when you just signed your "franchise" Qb last year. Its basically a rebuild at that point, so you might as well just get rid of Cutler for anything at that point to save money and start rebuilding. I never wanted Cutler, I was maybe the most vocal about the Bears not re-signing him last year. But that ship sailed.
  18. As long as Cutler is on the team you cant spend a top 10 pick on Winston. Might as well take a flier in the later rounds on a guy like Jacoby Brissett.
  19. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationw...ory.html#page=1 12 people were killed in France because they stood up for what they believed in and refused to give into threats. I don't know anything about the newspaper or whether it was actually funny. But I do believe in free speech. In their honor I have changed my icon to one of the controversial front pages from their newspaper. "I do not agree with what you say, but I will fight to the death for your right to say it."
  20. Not sure why Alabama wouldnt have more urgency with that punt. They wasted almost 30 seconds.
