Hes gotta let Dekker finish that fast break. And seems like a lot of red in the crowd.
-
In slow motion you can see Gasser's contact fall out lol Hopefully hes okay.
-
Hard to believe that this is actually happening. Hopefully today is Wisconsin's day, they earned their chance, just need to play their best 40 minutes.

I think really the most concerning part is once again we are allowing govt to make more rules/laws to govern us. I mean I get why they had to create the laws because having black/white bathrooms, etc.. created a society where once race was implicitly seen as lower, but itd be a much better place if we didnt have to have that law. It was only a last resort because some people couldnt be normal human beings. Which brings us to the current issue. Is there such a scourge of litigation where gay people are suing that this is really an issue? Are there so many verdicts in Indiana against business owners denying services, that we need a law to fix it? My guess is no, especially because half of the arguments I read are about how this is to prevent future issues. So now we are just creating laws to create laws.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 04:13 PM) You gave no logical reply, so there wasn't much to listen to. IIRC you gave a stat about NFL abuse being lower than the national rate, which was irrelevant to the NFL still allowing that s*** in their league. You're making the exact same bad correlation argument. Doing business in Indiana based on one law out of the tens of thousands on the books does not mean you support said law in any way shape or form. Btw, you living in this country wherein states can pass laws to discriminate against homosexuals means you support discrimination of homosexuals. Why do you care if its a bad argument? Sometimes a bad argument can be used to make a good change.

QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 03:41 PM) I'll saw off the limb. Mom and pop business, and all single location businesses, pay taxes in Indiana. Large corporations are more likely to have been given tax incentives to locate there. They are also more likely to shift their tax liabilities to more tax friendly locations. The Indy 500 is based at a specific track and isn't moving. Also as a member school Indiana isn't going to be frozen out of the revenues or kicked out of the Big 10 over this. Notre Dame isn't going to find opponents unwilling to play in Indiana. Even if the large corp has tax breaks, it employs thousands of people so if they move Indiana loses all the revenue from income tax, sales tax and property tax from those workers. Indiana the school wont likely be kicked out of the Big10, but right now the BIG 10 holds events like the football championship and basketball championship in Indiana. Those would be easy to take away. Its just bad business, which is why only privately held corps (ChikFila, Hobby Lobby) are willing to do it, because they care more about their souls than bottom lines.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 02:33 PM) Well if you buy gas you're supporting beheadings of terrorists so...the logic makes sense. Also, everyone one of you on a computer/phone hate children and the labor they're forced into. Tsk, tsk. I'm getting a kick out of all these huge companies condemning the law while at the same time continuing to do business with countries in the middle east, china, etc. Not allowing someone to refuse to work at a gay wedding totally unacceptable, pull the plug. Continue doing business in China with their human rights violations, meh. Talk about PR opportunities. Of course its hypocritical. But Im an opportunist, I dont get many chances to call out China/Qatar etc (and quite frankly Im not sure that they even care what I think), but when I see something that looks like bigotry, I have no problem calling people on it. I mean deep down this just seems like tyranny of the majority.

QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 02:30 PM) There are specific reasons why businesses start and stay in a certain area. Tax advantages, economic incentives, nearby customers, nearby suppliers, owners live nearby, etc. Rarely is there a business that can just open randomly anywhere. Businesses open to make money. People are investing their life's savings. Someone from Indiana isn't going to say I was going to open a business here in my hometown but now I will move to Kentucky instead. People don't make major investments based on forcing social change. The issues that cause businesses to choose a location or not are ones that impact their bottom line. Social issues are not a major determent. Im going to go out on a limb and say that the taxes generated by small mom an pop businesses pale in comparison to large corporations. How much revenue would Indiana lose if they lost the Big10 championship, Indy 500 etc. How much revenue do they gain by passing this law? Economically speaking its not very logical. If Indiana wants to be on the wrong side of history, that is their call. The last time I was there was over 10 years ago to see Bon Jovi, ironically Melissa Etheridge was one of the opening acts.

QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 12:34 PM) Such as? People not planning their vacations to Indiana? http://time.com/3763622/connecticut-state-...us-freedom-law/ The state of Connecticut has banned state funded travel to Indiana. Seattle and San Francisco have banned city funded travel. There are already some petitions etc wanting to move the Big10 championship from Indiana and Im expecting the NCAA (who has headquarters in Indiana) will receive some heat as well.

World Soxtalk Championship Wrestling III Thread

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Mar 30, 2015 -> 01:47 PM) Sting should of went over it was like the bully WWE beating WCW one last time. But that was entirely predictable given that it was HHH v Sting. At the end of the match Sting said "That was amazing" and HHH responded "You should stay for a while." So at this point it seems to be up to Sting what his role in WWE will be. That is probably why they did the whole NWO thing (even though it made 0 sense). I mean HBK inducted Nash the night before. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 29, 2015 -> 08:20 PM) Network bad for anyone else in terms of buffering? It was spotty all night. Definitely was on their end. -
Wisconsin came close last year, both teams are better this year. If Wisconsin can shoot well from the field and Kentucky is content playing half court basketball, the game hopefully will be close and anything can happen. The reality is a lot more can go wrong for Kentucky and theyll still have a good chance at winning. A lot will have to go right for Wisconsin.
-
Strange game but I guess if Sam Dekker isnt going to miss then you win most of the games played.
-
Its just strange to see Wisconsin beat UNC. I may be biased, but I think that Wisconsin was just the better team.

So the "Sauce Castillo" nickname (Nick Stauskas) story is pretty funny. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-don...-180042667.html

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 23, 2015 -> 02:57 PM) Anderson being hurt and just playing a bad game. UVA got their wins by clamping down on defense and playing smart ball offensively. They did neither as they got bounced. It happens in single elimination. You could see this was a bad match up for UVA from a mile away. Their best player was coming off an injury and Izzo has had a lot of success against Bennett style basketball.

Buffalo not getting the calls.
-
I dont know why but "Angles in the outfield" was a typo that made me laugh.
-
Yeah I had 0 confidence in Baylor. The only team from the Big 12 that I had faith in was Oklahoma. Im somewhat concerned that their numbers look better cause of Big12 being overrated. I just had not a lot of confidence in any 3 seed in my seed pool.
-
UAB going to foul, gotta be careful
-
Guess when you get a 1 seed you go all in on your team

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 17, 2015 -> 03:02 PM) Every team in the tournament is a possible future opponent. They are all in the same region (besides KY) and could possibly play 3 of them. Thats pretty rare.
-
Last year Wisconsin played AZ, Baylor, Oregon and Kentucky. All of them are possible future opponents in this years tournament.
-
Like I said its just strange. Illinois under Weber was getting a good amount of recruits Bo Ryan wanted. Egwu and Bertrand both turned down Wisconsin offers.
-
The Weber thing is always strange from an outside perspective. When he was at Illinois I always thought they played Wisconsin pretty well.
