  1. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 11:51 AM) Thibs is willing to give rookies some minutes if they show that they aren't a detriment to the team out there. He didn't give many minutes to James Johnson. Teague, at this point, I'm afraid he'll be a detriment to the team. He can't run an offense, he can't shoot, he can't defend well and from what I saw he had trouble finishing at the rim in summer league. He's just not a good NBA player right now. Giving him minutes would be a mistake, unless the plan is to tank. The Bulls are going no where, who cares if he is a detriment to the team, he needs to get valuable NBA minutes. Look at Butler's game log last year. Hed play 20+ minutes, then 0 for a few games. You have to give young guys consistent playing time. You cant have them sit a week and then play 15, to then sit another week. Teague may be good, he may be bad, but he should be playing 10 minutes every night, getting consistent reps. It makes no sense to have Hinrich and other old vets taking his minutes, the Bulls are going no where with them.
  2. Thibs doesnt like young players. It would have made a lot of sense to get young guys and try them out this year so the Bulls could build a good core. A lot of people dont expect Teague will even get good minutes this year, which is just a travesty. If you are going to suck, might as well suck really hard and get young guys experience.
  3. USA USA! Should be interesting to see the final medal count, hopefully the US can eek out a win over China.
  4. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 10:42 AM) Okay. So I have a project to do before Bulls season, but somehow I'm going to link this forum and the Bulls board to where the same logins, etc are used. That way, the Bulls threads show up here and can be posted here (not ever having to leave Soxtalk). Then there will be a general NBA discussion thread for all other nba discussion. Going to try and do something similar with the Bears. However, the goal is to make it where you can visit Soxtalk and get the discussions from the other forums within here. If I can't get that set-up, there won't be any change. But its on my agenda of things to do. Hopefully it works cause its a great idea.
  5. The fact that the El changed from 1 to 2, doesnt explain its complete disappearance by 3. It just shows more lack of continuity in the film.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 08:40 AM) Did you see BB? Did you see how they stopped the water from being dispersed? It kinda sorta maybe involved THE ELEVATED TRAIN BEING DESTROYED. I saw BB, I also saw Dark Knight. And Im pretty certain in Dark Knight you can see the EL in some scenes, so even if it was destroyed in BB, it was back by Dark Knight. I rewatched them both multiple times this weekend to try and justify your "Rises" as #1, but I just couldnt do it.

    Job Hunt Thread

I know people who smoke just so they can get that break. Its an odd one.
  8. You know what, I have no idea where you are going with this. It wasnt filmed in Chicago, thats why it looked different.
  9. I only brought that stuff up because Steve said it was the best movie ever and gave it an A+. (edit) The more I reread my posts Im not even sure what your issue is. I just said that Nolan not wanting to pay to film in Chicago created continuity problems. That is a fact. Not sure why that is so controversial.
  10. Oh the only reason I was nitpicking is cause some people were saying this was the best movie ever, and I was noting some reasons why it wasnt. Just as an action comic movie those things dont matter. I just suspend reality when I watch.
  11. And before anyone chimes in about Paterno being the coach, I dont think he was doing them any favors the last few years in the coaching department either. Not even sure he knew where he was some games.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 09:01 PM) They had a HUGE recruiting advantage by not reporting that one of their current and then former coaches was raping little boys. Check out what happens to their recruiting classes now. Covering this up had ALOT to do with keeping the football machine going. As for people saying "dont punish people who had nothing to do with it", just about every NCAA punishment hurts people who had nothing to do with it, my team cant play in a bowl this season because of players and a coach that arent there anymore, I didnt see anyone crying about that. There is a difference between taking away past wins and future sanctions. I dont think anyone has a problem with Penn State losing scholarships or post season bans in the future. Its about taking away wins in games that were no way impacted by inappropriate player behavior. Usually some player has done something wrong is the reason for vacating the game (ie they werent eligible due to improper benefit therefore the game doesnt count), but in this case there is 0 evidence any PSU player committed a wrong doing. So take away Paternos victories, but why hurt the players? Strangesox, But in this instance you could have easily not hurt the players. You "suspend Paterno" ex post facto, and take away all the games he won and lost over the last 8 years. The games stay, just Paterno is hurt. It doesnt hurt Penn State as much, but the games really werent impacted, and the future sanctions are to hurt PSU.
  13. Yes Im ridiculous cause I gave the film a B, or 3 stars. Its not the best film ever, sorry.
  14. I dont doubt it, if it was legitimate plot line that would be fine. But when its simply that he didnt want to spend the money to keep the continuity on a film thats going to make hundreds of millions, its hard to reconcile. I just found it silly sometimes when it switched from Pitt to NY, as if I couldnt tell the difference between bridges.
  15. Police officers should, and do, have a lot more latitude when making split second decisions.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 06:14 PM) True. If he gets shot too quickly, it turns into Martin... Comparing Zimmerman to a police officer is just not right.
  17. Cities do change, but I cant name 1 city that completely lost its elevated track system or had an island disappear within 8 years. Arkham was in the Narrows, its a pretty important thing to just completely forget about.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 05:41 PM) That doesn't sounds like Thibs to me Im trying not to start another war on Thibs coaching, so Im just going to hope he does that.
  19. Well with Rose being out, youd hope guys like Teague, Butler are given a chance to play, so that we know what the Bulls have. It wont make any sense to have veterans eating a ton of minutes just to suck anyways.
  20. QUOTE (G&T @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 05:29 PM) I'll hazard a guess that she wasn't. That's what her people are probably pushing to make sure no one buys it. Well officer I was just watching the video so I could ascertain her age.
  21. Its actually a pretty big continuity problem as the Narrows/El dont exist in Rises. As if the entire storyline of Begins just vanished.
  22. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 04:21 PM) If this season is soooooo lost why was it imperative that we spend 4 million dollars/year on a horrible PG to fill in for Rose? Rudderless ship.
  23. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 02:57 PM) You seem to have a thing for 2nd round picks and bad players. Randy Foye is not the answer to anything. That isnt true, Randy Foye is the answer to: Name a guard who played for Villanova?
  24. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 02:11 PM) I don't think the removal of wins, which is almost purely a symbolic gesture, is at all comparable to fining employees, which is a direct and concrete harm. If its just purely symbolic, why do it? And how do you know its not a concrete harm? My guess is that there are some players who would rather be fined than lose their records/wins/etc. I know I would, you can make more money, cant go back in time and win more games.
  25. QUOTE (G&T @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 02:06 PM) They signed a consent decree. So, no, there is no violation of any law. And that answers that, which is why I didnt really argue that it was illegal, as I just had no idea.
