  1. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 13, 2012 -> 02:29 PM) I just hope they have a plan. I totally understand the 2012-2013 season. They know its lost, and they don't want to spend the money on veterans for nothing. That makes sense to me. BUT, what do you do with the team when Rose does come back? If you expect him to be superman and carry the entire team, with the Heat, Nets, and whoever else, that isn't going to work In my opinion the Bulls should be focusing on 3 years from now. Next year is likely wasted as Rose is going to be fresh off of injury. 2 years from now will be Rose's first full year so you cant expect to much. 3 years from now is when its likely the Bulls can make a good run, and that also will hopefully coincide with Wade starting to break down. Which is why I think the bulls should really just move people and start getting picks, etc. Hopefully hit on 1 and use the others to trade for 1 other superstar to put with Rose/Noah/Taj.
  2. Read the threads, I was one of the people who was a huge Asik supporter, I didnt even want to trade him for OJ Mayo. That being said, he is not worth the contract.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 13, 2012 -> 02:24 PM) Like it or not, he's still a 26 year old 7 footer who can play solid defense, and there aren't a whole lot of those in the league. He's been in there 2 years, so he still might wlel have room for his offensive game to grow. Celtics got Greg Stiemsma for basically 0. His per was 13.62 last year (Asik's was 13.44) The problem with the NBA is that if the guy isnt well scouted in college, many NBA teams just wont even look at them. With Asik's lack of improvement on the offensive end, there is just no way to justify this contract. There are a handful of NCAA players each year who are 7 feet or so that arent even drafted, who can just be a body in the middle.
  4. I bet ive walked past rock and not even known it.
  5. Me too would have been fun, but if the Pac is afraid, a nice consolation is another Big 10 game. Hopefully get some games at NU so I can go there.
  6. Hopefully that means 9 game Big10 schedule is back on.
  7. Its going to be interesting to see what Dwight wants once he realizes that Brooklyn is probably not ever going to happen.

South Park is one of those shows where even reruns make me happy.
  9. Its unclear how much interest there is in Deng.
  10. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 03:58 PM) Derrick gets even more dominant, Prior to the ACL tear I think most Bulls fans were more willing to be patient and conservative because you felt Rose would keep getting better. After the injury I just have to be more realistic. It would be amazing if Rose gets back to 100%, let alone gets better.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 03:44 PM) No, I said he was resting him up to 10 minutes a game. Almost sitting him an entire quarter. its fine, you dont like Thibs for silly reasons. You are wrong, I am fine with that. I love how you think someone can be wrong on a subjective statement. Me: This pizza is the best pizza Ive ever had. Kyle: No it isnt. Me: Yes it is, the sauce is amazing, the crust is crisp and the cheese is good. Kyle: Youre wrong and silly! Classic.
  12. No Im not, youre the one who argued the fact Thibs didnt play him 48 minutes was "resting" him. The fact is, when Thibs put him out for over 38 minutes, he seemed to get injured. You would think after that happened the first time, they would have been more careful. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 03:18 PM) And I showed you in the previous thread they did, aside from a select close games. Hell, playing 38 minutes is effectively sitting your star player all but 2 minutes of the fourth quarter. So get on your fundamental science rocket and quit using your own idea of limiting minutes as a reason thibs should move on. Right because players play 48 minutes per game during the regular season? What was the highest Average MPG in the NBA last year? Loul Deng 39.4 How many players averaged more than 38 minutes? 5 So you think its defensible that Rose was being asked to play a full workload even being injured? You are defending Rose being played as many minutes as the top 5 guys, while injured, that makes no sense.
  14. Knicks are created terribly with Amara/Melo. Clippers have arguably the worst coach in the NBA. The Bulls have good talent, probably better than those teams, but the Bulls need to beat the Heat, not hope that some how the Heat lose to another team.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 03:05 PM) Ah right, so don't review previous game logs and compare any of the other gameplay. Again, you just looked at the stats in a vacuum. Derrick should only play 35 minutes for the rest of his life according to Badger. The end. Reading is fundamental. After Rose was injured this season, AFTER ROSE WAS INJURED, the Bulls should have limited his minutes. That is not the rest of his career, that is if he keeps getting injured in the same season, maybe you shouldnt play him 40+ minutes in his first game back. That is not rocket science.
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 02:54 PM) FALSE True? http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/4387/gamelog Jan 14 TOR W 77-64 1 41:28 Mar 12 NYK W 104-99 1 42:43 Apr 8 @ NYK L 99-100 1 38:37 Apr 15 @ DET W 100-94 1 41:07 Apr 28 PHI W 103-91 1 37:13 Sorry but the stats speak for themselves.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 02:50 PM) But you have to admit, it's very difficult to give a "guarantee" either way. Especially since people have said Rose's style of play might start getting him banged up for years. I cant absolutely say with 100%, but do I think Thibs use obviously contributed. You guys can love Thibs all you want, Ive watched the games, I dont like his in game coaching.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 02:46 PM) If you say "assume Derrick Rose tore his ACL", then yes, I am satisfied with these regular seasons and playoff runs, because simply the rosters could not possibly have done better. The only way you can make me unsatisfied is if you can successfully hang Derrick Rose's injury on Thibs, which I think is difficult to do given the type of injury, the fact that it wasn't obviously an over-use or poor condition injury, the fact that it didn't happen until the playoffs started, the fact that it happened away from contact, and seemed totally unpredictable beforehand, and could have happened at any point. I think Thibs contributed to Rose's injury. Look at the game logs, after his first few games out, basically every time he played 38+ minutes he got hurt again. Rose should have been handles with extreme caution and being ultra-conservative. No reason for your star player to get hurt in the regular season. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 02:46 PM) Long story short: Soxbadger, I don't think you know whats better for this team than Thibs and our FO does. I just don't. You're naming all these things that the FO 'should' do, I don't think any of it is new information to these guys. They know what needs to be done and I'm sure they have a plan of how to do it. Just because you have a plan though, doesn't mean its guaranteed to come to fruition, you know? These guys put us in a great position to contend. We had our shot and it just didn't work out. Now they're reloading for plan B I hope you have more faith in them than me. They get paid millions of dollars, I get paid $0.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 02:38 PM) After seeing the likes of Tim Floyd and Vinny Del Negro, I don't see how anyone could hate on Thibs. His teams have really overachieved the whole time he has been here. I dont hate Thibs, I like him. I just would prefer someone else. Hes obviously better than Del Negro and Floyd, but those are 2 of the worst coaches ever.
  20. Its not panic, panic would be if the Bulls went to the ECF and lost to the Heat in 7 and were blowing up the roster. Its being realistic. Rose tore his ACL, this is not a good thing. The way the Bulls roster is constructed there are major cap issues on the horizon. If the Bulls want to do something they are going to have to start planning ahead. They cant just go into every off-season and try and make moves ad hoc. That just doesnt work. People keep saying "results speak for themselves", but the Bulls have 0 NBA finals. Not 1, not 2, 0. If you are satisfied with great regular seasons and losing in the playoffs, then those are great results. If you dont care about the regular season and want playoff wins, those are terrible results. So the results do speak for themselves, just not in the way you think.
  21. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 02:29 PM) You should probably back yourself up with something of substance if you are going to fly in the face of results. 1st round loss to 76ers. Derrick Rose ACL 5 game loss to Heat 0 NBA Finals Fly in the face of what results? Since when is finishing 1st in the regular season a "good result", when the team doesnt even play to seed in the playoffs. Where I come from that is called a disappointing result. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 02:30 PM) Lol, jesus. We're a few years removed from being a .500 team with Vinnie D-umbass as our coach. Now we have an elite team that wins 1st seed every year, with the NBA coach of the year that all our players love, and some fans still aren't satisfied with any of it and want to blow it all up? Coach of the Year, who cares. Sam Mitchell won coach of the year in 2007, he was fired in 2008. Coach of the Year is a popularity contest award, its like saying that someone who won the Gold Glove is the best fielder. They won the Gold Glove!!!
  22. Its not just about that, I have many other reasons I do not think Thibs is the best coach for the Bulls. This was just merely one more reason to put in the bucket. And Im fully aware the Bulls finished 1st the last 2 seasons, that doesnt mean Thibs is a good coach. Plenty of teams win a ton of games with coaches that are actually holding them back. I love Thibs as an assistant, just not as a HC.
  23. That the Bulls need a new coach? Yes it does. Thibs isnt being objective here, he is being loyal and it will hurt the Bulls.
