  1. Take him out here, Castro better block the damn slinder.
  2. Then he probably wont ever leadoff, because I dont really see a career for him as a power/obp guy.
  3. If Pierre is gone and Lilli can hit 300+, why would Rios failing have any part in the equation? The most obvious thing is to have Lilli play more consistently than Pierre, Lilli just needs to prove that he can hit over a full season.
  4. The only place Adam Dunn should be pinch hitting is in a Chicago Sports and Social Club underhand slow pitch softball game. (yes that is a coed league)
  5. lol In what universe does anyone want Dunn pinch hitting. Id rather have Vizquel. And Rios gets a hit. Hawk, Rios just needs to get hits, not swing for the fences. Lets be happy he got on base.
  6. Dunn has less total bases than Rios and strikes out ridiculously often, basically no circumstance do you ph Dunn, unless a walk would win the game AND CQ IN YOUR FACE BIATCH
  7. Doesnt the hyphen in change-up make it 1 word? Im terrible at grammar but it really doesnt matter.
  8. Miami conceivably could drive here and try for an and 1, worst case scenario they score, try and get Dallas to inbound to chanlder and immediately foul. Otherwise I guess they just throw up a 3 and hope for the best.
  9. Terrible by Dallas right there just really really bad.
  10. Its pretty amazing Wade hasnt gotten a technical.
  11. Zone works against Miami because they want to drive and iso, you never really see them run any play that would take advantage of zone and for the most part they arent deadly behind the arc.
  12. As anyone who follows prospect rankings (in any sport) can tell you, rankings are always 100% accurate.
  13. My guess is that Robin wont seriously coach until his youngest child is done with high school. Part of the reason he took this job is that the Sox are going to give him extreme flexibility. So maybe 5 years from now youll see Robin in a dugout, but until then I see him in a role where he can be with his family.
  14. Rios is pressing, they just need to tell him to go out there and make great plays in the outfield and try and make productive outs at the plate. Right now I think you have to let Lilli play and that means Pierre/Dunn sitting more, with Q getting some time at the DH. Biggest problem is that even with the new found Lilli the Sox still have 2 problems between Pierre, Rios and Dunn. At least when you put Rios/Lilli out there you should have a better defense. If Pierre's of wasnt so bad you could have Q dh a lot more and go with a good defensive outfield to try and limit runs. Rios is just an enigma.
  15. Lets just hope for the best, plenty of solid MLB players werent top rated guys. Sox have a really bad track record so i wont hold my breathe.
  16. There is a thread called game winner thread, where you can celebrate without fear of people talking about how the Sox can improve and get better. Sorry if discussion about improving the team so they win more games bothers you. (edit) Ironically you decided to take the argument into the Game Winner Thread.
  17. Well if you are going to play dunn, it has to be dh and 8 or 9. Id say right now Dunn shouldnt be playing at all.
  18. Pierre has 11 more total bases than Rios on the season and 100 better ops. Pierre has a fielding pct of .960 in left field. Rios has a fielding pct of .994 in center field. I dont even have to go to advanced statistics, because anyone who has watched games this season has seen the Sox lose because of Pierre's defense in LF. Id rather take a hit in line up with the hope Rios can produce out of the 9 hole, than watching one of the worst defensive left fielders who has been picked off more times than anyone should. Pierre shouldnt be starting over Lilli or Rios, there is no justification.
  19. We got the best corner back in the draft!! What what! Hes our next Jerry Owens.
  20. Id rather have Rios in CF at .555 ops than Pierre in LF at 654 ops given their ability to defend. 11 more total bases for Pierre doesnt make up for errors and bad fielding in LF. The best line up for the Sox has Lilli in the outfield with Rios right now and either Pierre or Dunn dhing.
  21. lol This is when arguments get ridiculous. Rios is the best defensive outfielder on the White Sox, Im not sure how anyone can argue otherwise. Dunn exclusively gets paid to hit, there is a big difference.
  22. Rios is still the best defensive outfielder the Sox have (Lilli has had some great plays but if you are going to give me 1 out, Rios is still by far the best outfielder), he can actually run on the bases (unlike Dunn) The Sox just have bad outfielders, think about how many games we could have won if Pierre was just average in LF. There is definitely an argument that the Sox should have Lilli in over Pierre or DH. I really think that Rios is a better player than Pierre, and Ill stand by it.
