  1. Its because of what I was taught. You brought up Easter, so lets go straight to the point, Passover: (I just grabbed a Haggadah online, feel free to get a copy of the Maxwell House Haggadah) http://scheinerman.net/judaism/pesach/haggadah.pdf We have joy because we were freed from Egypt, we have sorrow for the suffering of Egyptians. The basis of the Jewish faith is that we have suffered, so we do not celebrate the suffering of others. The fact you would even compare Bin Laden to Hitler decreases the terribleness of Hitler. Bin Laden was no Hitler, Bin Laden was a terrorist who got lucky. He killed at most 10,000 people. Let us not forget that when we compare him to some one who systematically killed millions of people. So yeah, Passover teaches us to be glad, but not celebrate. Hence my earlier statement, I am glad, but I am not celebrating. /shrugs
  2. Why not? One man's terrorist is another mans freedom fighter. As for the Easter comment, I think you need to look at Passover and how the Jews feel about the killing of the first born. Just because they were our enemy, just because they held us as slaves, does not mean that we forget that we are all children of god. We are not truly free, until all people are free.
  3. I dont believe its about the importance, I believe that its about the fact thousands of people didnt die in order for a team to win a championship. Or that when the team won the championship there isnt a reminder of all the people who died because of the ridiculous acts of the other team. I think the more appropriate comparison is: Are you okay with people in another country cheering and celebrating the death of a US serviceman? I am not. As for American national pride, Im proud of the Americans who sacrificed their lives to try and save those who were the victims of the attacks. Killing Osama doesnt make me anymore or less proud of those people nor of my country. Slav, I see nothing wrong with your comments, to each their own at the end of the day.
  4. Im glad, but im not celebrating. To many innocent people have died because of all of this.
  5. Bogans can hit the three, some times he just doesnt seem to take the open shot for whatever reason.
  6. If the bulls win this series, the key is going to be that Thib is will let Korver play more. Because the Bulls need his offense, he may not be the best defender, but Thib needs to figure out a way to work around that because he is by far the Bulls best shooter. He also helps the Bulls space the floor, which should give Rose better lanes.
  7. There is a lot of love for a team who needed a career performance from Jones. I honestly see no way the NBA lets this go less than 6.
  8. And this iswhy the NBA is unwatchable. Refs just ruin the game, but the series will be 2-2 regardless of what happens. Its just how the NBA rolls. Unwatchable
  9. Not really, it would only affect class action lawsuits where there was a valid arbitration clause. And arbitration decisions can be reviewed by the Circuit or Federal court. In Illinois you have to register arbitration decisions with a court and can vacate an award pursuant to 710 ILCS 5/12. I just dont see arbitration per se as a bad thing.
  10. Because youre painting with an extremely broad brush. I think there could possibly be an exception to arbitration: IE A party may file a pleading with a state/federal court asking a judge to review whether or not arbitration would unfairly prejudice the party.
  11. Im surprised Carimi is Bear jew as that would make more sense for Matt Bernstein (Bernstein bears and well Bernstein was a fb for Wisconsin) As for the Carimi pick hes the best lineman that Wisconsin has had since Joe Thomas. The only knock potentially would be that Carimi is most likely not an elite athlete, but the guy has run block for one of the best running teams in the nation. I also assume Tice knows a ton about him as Tice's son is a back up QB for Wisconsin.
  12. I started CC in a fantasy league, so my guess is he gets torched. I have a pretty good record of players doing horrible.
  13. And I addressed the part about scouts. They had hundreds to thousands of hours of tape on Tebow, they can see everything hes done, and worse they could see how he did not really progress change his mechanics. Newton they have limited information on, so they believe that he can fix things and get better. {repost} Newton also has the advantage that he only played 1 year, so not as much time to see everything he did wrong. They had so much tape on Tebow that they basically knew every throw he could and could not make. Because Newton has only really played a season, its natural to expect hell progress and that hell be even better. Tebow was considered more a finished product. Not that any of those statements are true, its juist a strange phenomenon that sometimes scouts not having as much information can be a good thing for the player.
  14. It doesnt matter who drafted him, Tebow went in the first, so Newton going 15-17 picks before him isnt that much of a difference. Its not like Tebow was drafted in the same round as Brady.
  15. Im pretty sure most scouts think Newton has a better arm than Tebow (Tebow was still a 1st round pick). Newton also has the advantage that he only played 1 year, so not as much time to see everything he did wrong.
  16. Sox= Sox Badger = Wisconsin Badgers Back when this whole internet sports message board craze started I was in school at Madison. The rest is history.
  17. Its kind of laughable to believe that arbitrators are more likely to side with a big corp than say a judge. To explain that point, lets use the reality of Cook County Courts versus arbitration *well use American Arbitration Association as an example). In Cook County, if you go there enough, you know every judge. Every judge knows who the law firms are, they know who the heavy hitters are, and they give deference to the big players. Furthermore, a case in Cook County is going to take at minimum a year, if not 2 or more. Conversely in AAA you get a list of arbitrators. Both parties rank who they want, you then get selected one. You have no real interaction with the arbitrator until the arbitration. Arbitration generally takes less than 6 months. Arbitration generally costs more, to file with AAA I think the minimum is $650. Cook County the max is about $325. If you signed a contract that states you must go to arb before going to court, why would that not be enforceable?
  18. You dont get a choice to go on the attack, Vancouver has controlled the tempo. Unfortunately they make a stupid play and the Hawks have a huge chance. Need to end it here.
  19. I assume the Canucks are going to come out guns blazing to start, the Hawks have to withstand the surge. You can feel how tense it is when the Canucks are on defense, its only going to get worse.
  20. IT CAN BE SO CRUEL Wow that is unbelievable.
  21. Could fate really be so cruel and have the Hawks some how tie a game they have no business being in?
  22. Even the Canucks fans cant hate on Crawford after what hes done tonight.
  23. Really? What the hell, and why completely foul, penalty shot is way easier than what he would have had to do.
