  1. The problem is Ozzie refuses to sacrifice people to 2nd base. The whole idea of small ball is that you win with singles, you dont win with singles if your players are standing on 1b. Atleast Harris didnt ground into a dp. SB
  2. 8bb none have scored. That has to be like negative small ball or something. SB
  3. Players like Rowand and Dye have to start sacrificing bunting. If we ground into any more double plays we might as well not even put the runner on 1b. SB
  4. Let the pitcher beat himself, good work by Harris. To many of our hitters get themselves out swinging at garbage. SB
  5. It is supposed to rain so not sure how many people are getting excited about a game that very well may be canceled. SB
  6. Objectively, it was the right call. Crede leaned into it, and regardless of whether its called wrong 99.9% of the time, it does not mean that when its called right, the umpire did something wrong. Subjectively, the White Sox have been hit 6 times in a 3 game series. They have suffered from a few poor calls by the umpires. You can not be sure what Crede was doing, and it was a pitch that was very inside. When a baseball is coming at you, some times you do not think and just react. Crede may have just flinched when he realized that it was actually that close to him. It is hard to tell intent, and the batter should be given the benefit of the doubt. Its over, lets just hope that they use all of this to win the next few games. SB
  7. That is what bothers me the most, the Sox were hit so many times, the Sox respect the league by not hitting the A's batters, and then they get screwed. Its bulls***, and I hope that Reisndorf uses some of his clout to put these guys into their places. SB
  8. Jimh, Its a poorly written rule, that if applied properly would mean that most hbp's should be balls. The umpire that enforced it should be fined if he does not consistently call this in the future. If I were the White Sox I would tape every game that he calls, and if he does not make the same call again, notify the league. SB
  9. Im honestly happy I did not see it, and only got to read about it after the game was done. I probably would have had an aneurysm and stroke at the same time. SB
  10. Why was Everett awarded first base? He turned around but did not attempt to move out of the path of the ball. The problem with this rule is that it the umpire has to get into the players mind and try and figure out what his motivations were. Last night Ozuna was hit on the wrist, he made no attempt to avoid the ball, therefore it should be the same call. Personally I think that unless it is a borderline pitch, ie close to a strike, that you have to award the player first base. And how do you get back at this umpire? Start writing to MLB, watch every game he umpires, write every time he makes a mistake. Write to newspapers, etc. SB
  11. Our bench is terribly thin right now, we cant pinch hit for players because we dont have enough. SB
  12. Doesnt PK have the only RBI for the Sox this game? SB
  13. It could be worse, we could be Cubs fans and blaming Hawk for saying that he had a bad vibe. Atleast we are blaming people that actually had an impact on the game. SB
  14. I think its more the fact you use hyperbole and try and pass it off as fact. There are so many reasons we lost tonight. And its not healthy to obsess over it. SB
  15. Predictions can be wrong. Pretty simple. If I predict that a meteor is going to hit the Earth tomorrow and it does not happen, then eventhough it was a prediction I was still wrong. Theres plenty of time before Frank gets back, hope you dont go changing your prediction. SB
  16. Your argument was the money, now its clearing waivers. So your saying that the White Sox should send down more talented players because they might risk losing Timo on waivers, or him being released? I think the fact that he cant play for our team and does not fit into our long term plans should be reason enough that its an easy decision to let him go. But I guess it makes more sense to keep the lower quality player around on the bench wasting a roster spot. SB
  17. Money does not matter: If Harris is sent down, they still pay Harris, Ozuna, Timo If Timo is sent down, they still pay Harris, Ozuna, Timo If Ozuna is sent down, " " " " " " So if the money is the same, and they determine that Harris or Ozuna is more valuable than Timo to winning games, what reason would they keep Timo? SB
  18. If we were playing .500 right now, that would be enough. But the fact we are in first place and people are complaining that we let one game slip away, it makes me wonder if we really deserve to be winning. SB
  19. Whats obvious is that: Uribe, Iguchi, and Ozuna as our only 3 middle IF will spell a lot of trouble. Today we were already scraping the bottom of the barrel and you want to create even less depth. The reason Harris was playing SS is because we have no IF depth. Not because we have so many IF's we are trying to find them AB's. If they keep Carl (and I think if Thomas is healthy by trade deadline they could try and trade him), then they have to get rid of Timo. SB
  20. Jabroni, Do the White Sox have more, IF depth or OF depth? When Frank Thomas gets back will they need more players who can do few things, or more players who can play multiple positions? If Harris is hitting over .300 when Frank gets back, say goodbye to Timo $1mil Perez. SB
  21. But without his 2 runs they lose 2-1. Therefore he "won" the game. As he was +1 run. SB
  22. Pods is also hitting higher against lhp this year than rhp. Ozuna has a lot to prove, there was a play at SS up the middle that Uribe makes that Ozuna let go under his glove. Right after that they put in Harris, may have been to hurt to field. SB
  23. Chisoxfn, So many have told me the following things: 1. Willie Harris was going to be traded. 2. Jon Garland should be traded. 3. Jose Valentin was better than Juan Uribe. So far I think that 2/3 have proven to be faulty, and Im hoping for the trifecta. Jabroni, Did Pablo make an error at 3b today? SB
  24. Willie has as many errors as Pablo. He has a higher batting average than Pablo. He has more walks. He has more hits. He has more runs. I chose the guy batting .250 with an obp of .286, over the guy hitting .360 with an obp of .420. (That is sarcastic) Willie is also an extremely good defender. SB
  25. Ozzie made a terrible mistake sending Buerhle out in the 7th. But this game is a bunch of different players making mistakes. And if this game affects Ozzie, than he is not a manager. Some days things just dont go your way, you dont think that one of our wins we got some bounces? We played as bad as we could, and we are only down 2 runs. You can not win every game. SB
