  1. Steff, Damnit when I talk in generalities its not an invitation for every person to say: I did not do that. ;P It just means in general the tone of the thread, and I cant keep track of 7 pages of invidiual posts so I just post in generalizations of what I feel. The tone of the thread was everyone thought it was okay and just fine and dandy. I do not disagree that it is not against the rules; notice that I said if we were the Cubs that it would be something I would of been happy with. Just that it is beneath the first place team. SB
  2. Ahaha I didnt know that he cried about me personally attacking him. Im so sorry I called you a dolt. Didnt realize I would hurt your feelings with one off the cuff remark because its so frustrating to read your posts that I have to bang my head against my desk to try and get a moment of clarity. Sb
  3. Nope And I think that is the first personal attack that I have made in 2-3 years of posting. Although it was pretty tame. People here just twist everything to try and make their side right. They back up Uribe because he is a Sox player, eventhough I know many of them would be the first to create a thread crying if the same thing happened. No one here even addresses why they think this is not bush league or beneath the White Sox, they just say it is allowed. Sb
  4. Hilarious comparison? I think the only dolt in the thread is you. Generally players have a right to the basepath, so if they make contact in that fashion it is legal. A-Rod went beyond this, and tried to purposefully make the ball fall out of the players mit. Compare to Uribe: Players generally can fake out a player. But it is far different to tell a player, "Hey that was foul". You know most people think the opponent has honor, and if they are saying its foul its because that is the way they would want to be treated. He tricked Lee, and that is bush league. Half the people in this thread would of been crying if it had gone against the Sox, ie Perez told Uribe it was a foul ball and Uribe stopped running. Maybe no one has class anymore, who knows. SB
  5. There is nothing per say wrong with what Uribe did. It just sets a bad precedent. If people think you play dirty, they will play the same way against us. The White Sox do not need other teams not only gearing up because we are number 1, but being told that we play dirty etc. ::shrugs:: Some times you may win the battle, and lose the war. And that is my belief on plays like this. Maybe they work and save us a run. But do we need the other team having fuel to beat us? HSC, No because what Uribe did is not against any written rule. But that does not make it wrong or low brow. We are the best team and baseball, we dont f***ing need to pull bulls*** to win. It makes us look like cowards who are afraid of winning fairly. :;shrugs:: SB
  6. I agree with Chisoxfn, Its f***ing bush league of Uribe, and it should be below a team who is in 1st place with the best record in the league. We do not need to play this way to win. If we were in the Cubs position, than maybe I would have a different opinion. But when you are winning, you win the right way. And when you are losing, you do what it takes to win. ::shrugs:: Karma is a b****, and if this is the way the White Sox are going to try and win championships, I doubt we'll hang many banners. Kind of like when A-Rod tried to knock the ball out of the Red Sox players glove... I guess winning with class is a thing of the past. SB
  7. Politte should have started that inning if Ozzie was serious about winning. Garcia meant that he was content with losing. SB
  8. SSI, What were Shingo's splits last year compared to Hermanson's? Hermanson has been lights out so far this season, but that does not mean that he will not return back to earth. Shingo on the other hand has been up and down, but the majority of the time has gotten the job done. It has been less than 2 months, it is far to early to be saying that Shingo is done. SB
  9. I was playing devil's advocate for the people who were saying we were going to win because Brazelton has a 6 era. I think the Sox will win, but this is the type of game that they generally have blown. SB
  10. The Sox never do well against young pitchers who they are seeing for the first time. I do not believe the Sox have seen Brazelton yet. Hopefully they score about 5 and our pitching keeps us in it. SB
  11. I just wonder what will happen when Hermanson gives up his first run or blows his first save. Dont jump off the bridge to fast. SB
  12. Harris has been awesome this season and I hope the best for him personally. SB
  13. Garland hopefully will be resigned for less than $7mil per year. Contreras most likely will be out unless he is willing to take a considerable pay cut, and McCarthy would take his place. SB
  14. Tony G replacing Ozuna is fine, never really thought Ozuna would be on the big league team to begin with this year. G replacing Harris would be kind of silly though because then youd have an entire RH infield. Harris has been doing fine, and there is really no reason why Graff and Harris could not be a great bench combo. SB

    Neyer

The problem with Neyer's argument is that the games that he is comparing are not similar. We do not know how a certain pitcher got his 3.5 era, it is a combination of many different games. Maybe he gave up 9 in one start, and was dominant 3 others. You just can not tell by the numbers, and therefore comparing strike out and BB totals of a game do not really tell anything. Maybe the pitcher gave up 4 runs when his team was already leading 7-0, that inflates his era, but he still is the winning pitcher. If a pitcher is not giving up a lot of extra base hits, and the defense is turning double plays, you can give up 5+ hits a game and still come away with a shut out. SB
  16. They dont call him walk off Willie for nothing. SB
  17. Grinding, its as painful as it sounds. SB
  18. OBP of over .400, even if its limited time its the best we have. SB
  19. Alteast Harris, Pods, and Iguchi, are coming up, they are theonly ones Im even semi confident in not doing something dramatically terrible. SB
  20. This makes no sense, Crede needs another HBP. Percival has been missing his spots, he could easily walk Crede. SB
  21. Willie is one of the few players on the Sox who actually has a good hitting approach. He consistently works counts and gets ahead of pitchers. There are so many worse culprits in this game than Harris, yet people always blame him. Only one person even talks about the fact Harris played SS the whole game, got a BB in a key situation, and has not really screwed the Sox offense this game. Would it be better if he tried to go opposite field and just get on base, sure. But if he hits a double hes a hero. SB
  22. Darrin Jackson said Willie was trying to hit a home run, that does not mean he was actually trying to do it. He was trying to drive the ball. What do you want a hitter to do? Not try and hit the ball hard, lay down a bunt with 1 out and AJP on first base? What besides for hit the ball hard is Harris supposed to do? SB
  23. More like Willie swinging hard trying to drive the ball to right field. Atleast he made contact, did not ground into a dp, did not strand a man on 3b with less than 2 outs, etc, etc. He got a good count, tried to hit the ball hard. What do you prefer he did? SB
  24. Fathom guarantee the White Sox wont win this game SB
