That is pretty funny, though. Welcome to Soxtalk!

Even after Foulke's recent slump, his WHIP ratio is 0.96. He's one of the best closers in the game, and worth every penny of that 8 million. Every closer has to battle through a slump at some point, unless his name is Gagne. Remember when Smoltz was getting lit up earlier this year? Even Jose took him out of the park.

White House: Reefer Madness Could Be Reality

If there were any DUI deaths involving weed, they'd be listed. Weed makes you paranoid when you're behind the wheel, and therefore, more cautious. -
Will Some Genius Explain This to Me?

And that's exactly right. I hate it when people mention Livan Hernandez in trade rumors. -

Too many times I've had to settle for substandard weed....where's this endless supply of "ultra potent" s*** that they're talking about here? Because I could use some, definitely. -
Who gives a s*** about this year's stats? I guess that Ken Harvey was the second coming of Tony Gwynn early on. rolleyeyes.gif Guys like Alex Rodriguez and Miguel Tejada blow Valentin out of the f***ing water if we're talking about slugging capabilities.

It's a shame that the Lakers don't have a shot at acquiring the guy who is holding the ball, as opposed to that drunk guy standing behind him. Apparently, the Knicks are the frontrunners in the Dampier sweepstakes. That team ain't going anywhere even with Dampier, however. They have some of the worst contracts I've ever seen. Shannon Anderson is making damn near 10 milion per year, for example.

"Sixth Sense" is an outstanding movie. The other two were disappointing. I'll watch them if there's nothing else on television, but I'd never recommend them to anyone. I definitely look forward to seeing "The Village" when it hits theaters, however.

What has become of Juan Uribe? Games with 2 or more hits through June 22: 25 Games with 2 or more hits since then: 0 He had 24 hits in April, 34 hits in May, and 24 hits in June. Through July 19, he only has 4 hits. I sure as hell hope that he can get it together again, because we really need him. -
Happy Birthday, man!

Deng trade: What would really suck is if the Bulls finished with a s***ty record the year after next year & they ended up getting the #2 or #3 overall pick in the 2006 draft. The Suns could end up grabbing one of those guys that you mentioned (Oden and Caracter).

And yet another brilliant post from ozzietheairedale......

Don't worry, Jeckle. We won't be playing anyone in the offseason. Maybe in the postseason? -

Great post -
Bringing someone like Vince Carter in might get us the 7th or 8th seed in the playoffs. What is that going to do for our long term chances? We need to finish with the worst record in the league so that we could land #1 and #2 overall type picks. That's the only way. Basically, would you rather be good enough to make the playoffs now and get eliminated in the first round, or would you rather be a contender come 2008 or 2009?

Marion Jones = Lazy Shit

Her husband was using, but she wasn't? Just like Barry's trainer or whatever was a big time supplier of roids, but Bonds wasn't using? These people are all greedy capitalist slobs who need to be dealt with. That's all. -
GOD DAMN THAT FRONT COURT!!!! The beef is overwhelming! My predictions for next year, based on the new allignment where the top three seeds will all be division winners: 1. San Antonio 55+ wins 2. Minnesota 55+ wins 3. Sacramento 50+ wins 4. Denver 50+ wins 5. Dallas 50+ wins 6. LA Lakers 50+ wins 7. Phoenix 45+ wins 8. Memphis 45+ wins 9. Houston 45+ wins 10. Utah 45+ wins 11. New Orleans 40+ wins 12. Portland 40+ wins All of the 9 seed through 12 seed teams out west have a shot at making the playoffs! Hell, the only teams that you can rule out before the season begins: Seattle Supersonics Golden State Warriors Los Angeles Clippers Competition is going to be brutal. I'll be rooting for the Spurs and the Nuggets on the strength of their big men. I can tell you one thing: The Nuggets are going to slam the Lakers! Camby, Martin, and Hilario versus what? What do the Lakers have down low? It's gonna be a slaughter. Just give them a rebounding edge of at least 10 before those games even start..... Unless the Lakers get a Dampier or somebody, they won't advance to the second round unless they play someone like Sacramento or Dallas in the first round, who they could probably beat in a seven game series, as they match up very well. But they don't have much of a chance against San Antonio, Minnesota, or Denver.

More than 90% of you NBA champions since 1947 have won on the strength of the center position. Remember, in a defensive sense (which is all that matters if we're talking about championships), the center is like the goalie in hockey or soccer, the starting pitcher in baseball, etc. The better the personnel at those positions, the more likely you are to acquire rings. Exeptions include two of the top 5 greatest defensive units of all time in the late 80s/early 90s Pistons and the 90s Bulls. Laimbeer was the man, but he wasn't a "dominant" center. Cartwright was nothing special. Jordan and Pippen were 1st team defense every year for like 10 years or whatever. Same with Rodman.

2nd rate star? That's a joke, right? He wasn't voted one of the 50 greatest players in the history of the NBA on the strength of his looks.

shut up

He just won again. An even $50,000 altogether.

I voted for Ron Santo, but after reading this, I feel guilty. Sorry about that.
