  1. That's cool. I think we all agree that the Panthers, Patriots, and Ravens are the three best defensive units in football. But from what I have seen from all three, I'd have to give the edge to the Panthers. However, the Patriots have the greatest defensive mind in all of football running the show over there in Boston, and they also have the most depth on defense, so they get major points from yours truly. But still though, the Panthers reign supreme in my mind.
  2. If you look at the Ravens D-Line on paper.... :puke
  3. Spiff, I get the feeling that you're from the Boston area, because to say that the Panthers D-Line is just a little bit better....I dunno about all that. Sounds like major bias. Peppers, Buckner, Jenkins, and Rucker? That is an absolute embarrasment of riches, and nobody can even begin to approach that this year. And to say that the Patriots LB core and secondary are way better...no freaking way. The only true star is Ty Law, and he's far from inspired right about now. Rodney Harrison, Tyrone Poole, and Terrell Buckley are dinosaurs in NFL terms. Vrabel, Bruschi, and Phifer are great for the particular system they're running over there, but they're nothing special. Put any one of those three guys elsewhere, like on Kansas City or St. Louis for instance, and you'll never ever hear anything about them, ever. To say that the LB core and secondary are way better....I just don't know what to make of that. It sounds like that's your team, and I could understand where you're coming from if that's the case. I'd encourage you to watch a few Panthers games this year. I caught 10 to 12 of their regular season games last year. Guys like Dan Morgan, Ricky Manning, and Mike Minter, and Witherspoon are looking like future pro bowlers. And that line....ahhh, you already know.
  4. I'd put the Patriots and Ravens immediately behind the Panthers. In my opinion, Carolina would have won the super bowl last year if Stephen Davis was healthy. I agree that the Patriots made Manning look like crap, but take a look at Belichek's career record against Manning. It's ridiculous. Belichek is damn near undefeated against him, and they used to see the Colts twice a year.
  5. Oh, and another thing.... Maybe I'm just a prude (booooooo!), but ya gotta wonder what's up with the parents of these teenage girls when they're allowed to stay out all night and get hammered. Way to take care of your kid!
  6. No matter. They have the best D-Line in the league, and that's where everything starts. When you analyze a football team, always start with the trenches. Carolina is undoubtedly the best.
  7. There is absolutely no need to point out the obvious here, red! Why wouldn't you guys just pitch in for a hotel room? I'm assuming that you're all in your latter teens, so you should all be working.
  8. Their defense was one of the best I'd ever seen when they had Lewis, Boulware, Sharper, McCready, Adams, Siragusa, McAllister, Starks, Woodson, etc. As of now, they can't f*** with the Panthers, though. That is the NFL's best defense, no question. That core came together in a hurry!
  9. No revelation here. Even casual football fans realize that the Ravens are playoff caliber.
  10. Those are some kick ass statistics, man. Ya gotta love Frank Thomas. The man is obviously past his prime, but he still puts up some mind-boggling type stats when healthy. I'd like to see Frank's career donut %.
  11. Forgive me for being a new jack. I discovered the site back in March, so I wasn't here for the 2003 Soxtalk Awards. I find it very odd that cwsox is mentioned by damn near everyone on that board as a nominee for Poster Of The Year, Mod Of The Year, Best Poster To Add To A Thread, etc. Seriously, damn near every single person mentions him. So what has changed since then? Anyway, I hope that you stick around, cwsox. The Beatle heads don't want to see you depart. Well, most of the Beatle heads, anyway.
  12. That's awesome...it couldn't have happened to a better bunch.
  13. And how exactly does that make them any different from whites, hispanics, etc? Again, everything revolves around the dollar. Who has it, and who doesn't?
  14. Yeah, and if you completely flipped the script and put white people in "war zones" and black people in upper middle class homes, what do you think would happen then? Recognize that whites are at the very top of the food chain. That is about as obvious as it gets. Brando got suspended for blatant racism, but what he said is nowhere near as disturbing as some of the stuff I'm reading in this thread. How come black people in upper middle class to high class settings grow up to be lawyers, doctors, writers, etc? Why is that? Lucy, you got some 'xplainin to do.
  15. Do you know anything about music sales? How about populaton figures...are you familiar with those? It's white suburbia that supports commercial rap music. "Listening to rap and acting like assholes"....you just described the average white teenage suburbanite mang.
  16. Come on, man. I know that you're 16 years old, but you're going to have to show more respect than that. You and that "black gangster kid" that you're referring to here share 99.9% of the same DNA. The only difference is that you're not from a rough area. Count your blessings.
  17. I like how you just disregard a guy who had an 1.100 OPS going into interleague play. rolleyeyes.gif
  18. You better watch your back, son. You're lucky that I'm not a MOD, because I'd have suspended you a long time ago.
  19. Reesdi just got BANNED. I checked his post history, and I dunno what he did.
  20. Yep, that's the one. I use it to supplement my jazz fusion & dub reggae vinyl collection, which is going on 24 crates as of now.
  21. Did anyone read Ebert's review of this movie? One man's opinion is usually not enough for me, but in this case, it definitely is. He pissed on that movie repeatedly. He indicated that his grade of one star was a generous rating.
