Did anyone catch baseball tonight last night??

To all of those who continue to live for the moment: We win 5 in a row, and we're the greatest! We lose 5 in a row, and we're the worst team in the majors? How does that work? Come on, people. Get your s*** together. -
KW: Anybody know a worse GM?

Right off the bat you get charged with blatant stupidity for not recognizing that baggio is 30 at the very least. That proves to me that you don't even read these threads. You're only interested in reading your own bulls***. The 2000 team was a fluke.....only someone who wasn't really a Sox fan back then would say something like that. What, you didn't see all of the "It's Time" billboards on the Kennedy and the Dan Ryan when the 2001 season kicked off? Where are you from? How old are you? Why are you such a f***ing coward that you leave these little tid bits out of your profile? And why does Brando hammer your ass into the ground every time you guys argue? Tell me, because I want to know. I think that I'd rather stab my eyes out than to have to read your posts in their entirety. Remember, it's the quality that matters, not the quantity. -
Proper interpretation: They: Front Office We: Maggs, his agent, and the Front Office I: Maggs

"No Reply" This happened once before When I came to your door.... No Reply They said it wasn't you But I saw you peep through.... Your window I saw the lie, I saw the lie I know that you saw me As I looked up to see.... Your face I tried to telephone They said you were not home.... That's a lie

1991 Chicago White Sox C: Carlton Fisk, Ron Karkovice, Matt Merullo 1B: Dan Pasqua, Ron Kittle 2B: Joey Cora, Scott Fletcher 3B: Robin Ventura, Craig Grebeck SS: Ozzie Guillen, Esteban Beltre LF: Tim Raines, Warren Newson CF: Lance Johnson, Mike Huff RF: Sammy Sosa, Cory Snyder DH: Frank Thomas, Bo Jackson Rotation Jack McDowell (17-10 with a 3.41 ERA in 35 GS) Greg Hibbard (11-11 with a 4.31 ERA in 29 GS) Charlie Hough (9-10 with a 4.02 ERA in 29 GS) Alex Fernandez (9-13 with a 4.51 ERA in 32 GS)) Wilson Alvarez (3-2 with a 3.51 ERA in 9 GS) Ramon Garcia (4-4 with a 5.40 ERA in 15 GS) Roberto Hernandez (1-0 with a 7.80 ERA in 3 GS) Bullpen Pope Donn Pall (7-2 with a 2.41 ERA) Scott Radinsky (5-5 with a 2.02 ERA) Ken Patterson (3-0 with a 2.83 ERA) Melido Perez (8-7 with a 3.12 ERA) Brian Drahman (3-2 with a 3.23 ERA) Wayne Edwards (0-2 with a 3.86 ERA) Bobby Thigpen (7-5 with a 3.49 ERA & 30 SV) Rejects & Castoffs Jeff Carter (0-1 with a 5.25 ERA in 2 GS) Steve Wapnick (0-1 with a 1.88 ERA in 5 IP) Tom Drees (0-0 with a 12.28 ERA in 7 IP) Frank was the DH for 101 games. One Dog had a 646 OPS in 588 AB. Sammy Sosa his .203 with a 575 OPS in 316 AB. Joey Cora hit .241 a 554 OPS in 228 AB. Scott Fletcher hit .206 with a 528 OPS in 248 AB. Cory Snyder hit .188 with a 527 OPS in 120 AB. Ron Kittle retired after hitting .191 with a 610 OPS in 50 AB. Ramon Garcia would not taste major league action again until 1996, when he posted a 6.66 ERA in 37 games out of the Brewers bullpen . He would go on to pitch for the Astros in 1997, posting a 3.69 ERA with 9 wins in 20 GS. Not bad. What I can't figure out is why he would retire after the 1997 season after finally having some success at the big league level. Injuries, perhaps.

I'll never watch another all star game ever again, regardless. Haven't watched one since 98 or 99.

Kolb has like 25 saves and a nonexistant ERA.

John and Ed said that Frank was heated because KONERKO didn't make it. Frank never said anything about himself.

.350+ hitter? We ain't talking about Rod Carew here. Now, a .310+ hitter? That's much better baseball talk, right there. Sounds a hell of a lot more intelligent to me.

I'm enjoying Steve and Chip. -
It says in BIGHURT54's profile tht his favorite sox moment was the 2000 brawl with the Tigers. What we have here is a fighting mang. That's why he posts in all caps. He owns all of you.

I know what Paul did to the Cubs last week, but I'm still heated that Frank isn't in the lineup. No Frank and no Maggs make Homer go crazy. Hopefully he comes up with the bases loaded in the 7th inning or whatever..... -
Jason Kendall is a slightly above average defensive player with a 780 OPS, and he makes 10 million per year? :puke I know that he's a charismatic clubhouse figure and all, but it's just not worth it. Brian Schneider's offensive statistics are abysmal. I'll take him for his defense, though. Every American League team can afford up to two easy outs in their lineups if those players save a lot of runs via defense (obviously at certain positions like C, SS, CF, and to a lesser degree, 3B). Estrada is like the equivalent of Mike Piazza behind the plate. Only a fool would neglect defense at the C spot. If KW gets this guy, then I'll pity that fool. Personally, I'd like to get Gregg Zaun for the rest of the year. He has thrown out 40% of runners this year, and has close to an 850 OPS against RHP. That's what I'm talking about.

You say a lot of inaccurate s*** on here. Carlos ain't lazy. He's just a bad baserunner. Carlos has only hit 2 HR since the end of April! Consider this before you blast him for posing. He can't recall what it's like to hit a HR.

RIP to one of the greatest actors ever.

I'm not sure about your IQ, but your confidence in the human race may diminish quite a bit. -

When you're scoring 15 on one night, and then 1 the following night, the statistics don't matter. You all know this, but this little 4 game winning streak has you all blinded by the light. Bliiiiinded by the liiiggghhhtt And a 4 game losing streak=chaos on this board. Pure chaos. That's what I'm referring to when I mention living for the moment. -

Who gives a s*** how many runs our lineup has produced in comparison to the Yankees. People need to stop living for the moment and start thinking loooooong range. -

You're crazy, bro. Anyone who thinks the Sox have a better line-up or better Top 3 starters than the Yankees is not an educated baseball fan, IMO. Vazquez, Mussina, and Kevin Brown are all 10 million dollar men. They put our top three to shame. I don't care if Brown is injured right now. Their line-up has like 7 all star caliber players, and about four guys who will be in the hall of fame when all is said and done. Posada is just another in a long line of great Yankee catchers (Dickey, Berra, Munson, etc). Rodriguez, Jeter, and Sheffield will all be in the Hall Of Fame. And then you have Giambi, Matsui, Williams, etc.
