  1. You sound like Hawk Harrelson. I hate it when analysts compare guys to the all time greats. Todd Van Poppel is NOT the next Nolan Ryan.
  2. f***ing Kong. Second in the American League in HR. Outstanding.
  3. Ortiz is slightly worse than Freddy Garcia. A #2 at best, which works out for the Sox. Jon Boy will get to man the 4th spot now, which is where he belongs. And then, perhaps, we'll get Randy Johnson??? Do it now, KW!
  4. SON OF A b****! Damn, does this suck.
  5. These guys have been phenomenal thus far: CC Sabathia Cliff Lee Jake Westbrook Westbrook has a 1.18 WHIP Ratio. I think that they'll trade for at least two relievers by the deadline. Riske had a 0.96 WHIP ratio on the season last year. He'll get it together at some point. This Miller guy looks damn good. I'd say 80 wins for certain, with an outside shot at 82 or 83 wins.
  6. I hear that! Although I rooted for the Spurs last year. Duncan belongs out east.
  7. That would be something. I really hope that Sheed resigns with Detroit. You can't win a championship and just leave.
  8. All I remember is Prior striking out 7 of the 9 Sox batters that he faced in spring training last year. Absolutely brutal.
  9. Well, that's not entirely accurate, as they started that year with Theo Ratliff, and ended it with Dikembe Mutombo. Both of those dudes were two of the best defenders in the league at that point (Ratliff still is). They also had some other beef to work with. Tyrone Hill was still pretty good. No Dikembe, no finals.
  10. I thought that good pitching defeats good hitting?
  11. If I was starting a team, I'd want Mark Prior first and foremost. I't gonna be brutal tomorrow. If we're going to win, it'll have to be a 2-1 or 3-2 victory. Garland needs to step up.
  12. Man Hands That guy better be up here by the time August rolls around.
  13. I was thinking that Spanky Lavalliere would be a perfect fit, seeing as though he's a catcher and all.
  14. Just another f***ing sally with nothing to say unless it's of the negative variety..... I hate people like that.
  15. What's funny is that he was #1 in OPS less that a week ago. I'd say that he's easily the most underrated hitter in the league right now. Easily. He has a brutal 0-10 streak going right now, though, and there's no way that he's going to right himslef against Prior. He very well may be under .280 by the time the game ends tomorrow.
  16. Yeah, that's messed up. There's a lot of questionable stuff that Artest has done over the past few years, off the court. But he's still a certified ass kicker out there on the court. I still can't get over how beautiful that Detroit vs. Indiana series was. I'm looking forward to the rematch next year.
  17. I doubt that Minnesota lets Hassell go. And even if they were to let him go, I doubt that he'd want to come back to the Bulls, especially after they cut him. He probably wants to stick it up their ass, like Rick Vaughn in Major League .
  18. Ron is a very intelligent basketball player, although his temper gets the best of him at times. But off the court? WOW. What a complete dope. I was flipping through the channels a while back, and he was rapping on the best damn sports show. It wasn't pretty.
  19. As they should.... Because that guy is the man.
  20. He was healthy almost all of last year. He was the backbone of that Nuggets team.
  21. Richardson and Ginobili are the only two that excite me.
  22. Marcus Camby He's a ferocious rebounder/shot blocker. I watched maybe 25 Nuggets games this past year, and I also had him on my fantasy team. An amazing player.
  23. I know he lead the league in HR a couple years, though. People were trying to put him in the Mays/Aaron bracket in the beginning. I don't know if you can call him a talent waste just because he couldn't live up to those lofty standards. He was another one of those great players who is not quite good enough to make the hall of fame, but will be remembered long after they're gone (Ron Santo, Albert Belle, Harold Baines, etc). Although Belle was good enough. It's a damn shame about that hip.
  24. Yeah, maybe it was because I was expecting a lot more from him. Wade and Odom are definitely stars, though. If that team had a center, they'd be going places. As it is now, they're a lock for the playoffs, but they're not going to win any titles. They're way too small.
  25. What about that one guy who still has a 1.000 OPS after 15 seasons?
