QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 09:24 PM) The point is that she was going to do it after talking to this guy on the internet a few times. LOL! Yeah, really. This chick is not just merely dumb. I would classify her as a complete f***ing retard, but I guess that's just me. Even the dumbest guy in Poland can ask around and somehow acquire a passport and an airline ticket.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 09:10 PM) Agreed on everything except 1 thing. Playing in a park like Safeco actually helps Ichiro IMO, since he's a singles/bloopers/gap hitter who benefits from a huge outfield like Seattle in terms of hitting. That sounds great in theory, but then I'd need you to explain what happened in 2004. Road Average: .405 (358 ABs) Home Average: .338 (346 ABs) His 2002 splits are also kind of telling, but it's only a 30 point difference (.338 away to .308 at home), as opposed to a 67 point difference in 2004.

I am going against the grain here and creating a non-controversial thread. Ichiro is batting .532 in June (25 for 47), and .450 overall since he went 0-4 against Count on May 5. He has a .550 average in 18 ABs against the most promising duo in baseball (Santana/Liriano), and that includes a 1-4 performance against Johan Santana prior to his current hot streak. He would be hitting an even .400 on the season if you took away his numbers vs. Boston and Chicago (.132 AVG in 37 ABs). He is hitting .383 at Safeco, which is arguably the best pitching environment in the majors. He is now up over 2500 hits combined between Japan and the MLB, and he's only 32. The guy is just a freak.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 03:47 AM) So that's why he's hitting 60 points higher on the road right? WRONG! GUESS AGAIN DUMBASS! The Barbrady episode = best South Park episode EVER
-
He's hitting .417 in 50 ABs this month, and overall, he is hitting .332 with a .934 OPS in 220 ABs. He's hitting .357 on the road, and .297 at home. How is all of this possible considering that he's a lifetime .255 hitter who will turn 32 this summer? What in the f*** is going on?

QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 01:48 AM) I hate Tigerfan so much. Why can't he just go away? I know he hasn't posted, but just the thought of him lurking here pisses me off. He's a much better poster than you are, dude. -

QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 01:41 AM) Why are we busting on tigerfan again?? Hes been here since the Detroit series, maybe before, NEVER starts s***, never trolls...yet you guys love to bust on him? Is he your safety valve for stress release? Enough already. Show me one quality poster who has ever said anything negative about tigersfan. -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 02:19 PM) Thank you qwerty. BTW, we definately haven't seen enough of you around these parts lately... Yeah, tell me about it. This place needs more qwerty.

QUOTE(UC76 @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 03:18 PM) Bernstein is a smug prick. He's the type of a-hole who makes up for a lack of self-esteem being smarmy and making fun of others constantly. He rips people to make himself feel better. He walways takes the negative route. I used to find him kind of funny until I realized he's smarmy and arrogant all the time. Translation: I called the show, and they made me feel like an imbecile.

An excerpt from a Dave Van Dyck article in the Saturday trib:

Big Frank just hit a 2 run shot off of Mike Mussina in the 1st inning. He now has 16 HRs. Athletics vs Yankees

Hey, she went from wicked witch to pretty damn hot. Not bad. I remember seeing her on the cover of a magazine and thinking to myself "Who is that ugly b****?". And then aboz came out and admitted that he likes him some nasty-looking broads. But now she looks good, so he must have seen the upside. Just chop up your f***ing face, that's all there is to it.

QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 08:07 AM) I heard a Score interview with a Baltimore paper guy and he said that they basically brought him in for his D and that it's been very good. I think that Corey Patterson confuses people more than pretty much any other player in the majors. If we're talking defense, he's excellent, he's above average, he's merely average, he's below average, he's atrocious, etc. The stuff that I've been reading is just amazing. All I know is that he is 26 out of 27 in SB opportunities, he leads the league in bunt-hits, and he is approaching a .300 batting average. Has he sucked for 5 years? Sure. How old is he now? Only 26. Am I gonna go on record and say that we should look elsewhere? Hell no. Some of them numbers are pretty f***ing telling. You don't disregard a guy who is murder on the basepaths & has the potential to finish with a .340 OBP, .280 AVG, and 100+ runs while leading the league in steals and bunt-hits. We should look elsewhere for what, exactly? The bunt-hits alone should be a red flag that this guy is finally starting to get it. USE YOUR MOTHERf***ING SPEED, COREY. Hit the ball on the ground every single time unless the situation calls for a fly ball (sac fly) or whatever.
-
Congratulations to Frank on RBI #1500.
-
He leads the majors in bunt-hits (10) and SBs (26). Y'all can forget about it.
-
The big man just hit a 3 run shot against the Indians in the 3rd inning. Oakland vs Cleveland I figured that he wouldn't even be playing today.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 07:58 PM) Yes, choice. I do not agree with the notion of being born gay, I believe thats its an active choice. Let's see, I have two choices here: 1) Choose to be gay so that I can get ridiculed, become ostracized, etc. 2) Choose to be straight so that I can blend in with the the other 90% of the population. You're telling me that people actively choose option #1? That's a bunch of bulls***.

Per Fanball:
-
Make that 8 straight games with an SB.
-
QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 04:41 AM) He only has 3 doubles thus far, which is an indication that he ain't trying to force the issue. Frank pulled up lame off of a double. He simply can not run anymore.
-
Make that 7 straight games with an SB. He is now 23 for 24 on the season.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 07:28 PM) is his BA dropping? He went 0-5 yesterday, so his BA dropped from .291 to .281. But he has a 6 game SB streak going. I think that he'll be at or around .270 by the time we hit the ASB. Thus far, 22 SB to 27 strikeouts in damn near 150 ABs. Don't act like you're not impressed.
