QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 05:04 PM) Smoke a little weed by any chance?? Haha, reliving old frat memories by any chance?

QUOTE(forrestg @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 05:14 PM) go with Willie and Pablo both are great fielders and I see both improving. Pablo Ozuna will turn 32 next August, so I think it's safe to say that any improvement on the defensive end is unlikely. And besides, based on what I have seen, he is an atrocious third baseman. You're saying that he's great, Forrest? Well, it ain't at 3B.
-
He'd be a kick-ass pinch hitter, I'll say that much. He ain't exactly Brooks Robinson with the glove, but you could give him an occasional start at 3B. He could also serve as an emergency DH. Give him somewhere between 250 and 300 ABs, and I do believe that he'd hit at or around .290 for us. I could be dead wrong, of course.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 04:21 PM) Both are cheaper and wouldn't let a crucial ground ball cross them up in a big game. I don't think that anyone is above something like that, though. Even the slickest fielders in baseball history have made their fair share of crucial errors.

QUOTE(JimH @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 04:07 PM) There was no real mystery to the clubhouse issue, it was reported and if you believe the reports, Graffanino's issue was he thought a more Christian clubhouse would be more to his liking. So, what would be the typical conversation between Tony G and Willie Harris? Willie: Awww yeeeaahhh, that's my jam! Turn that s*** up! Tony G: Turn that s*** off, it is NOT Peanut Butter Jelly Time, motherf***er. It would be like Chad Curtis all over again.

The stuff that I can't stand is the popular commercial rock music made between 1975 and 1985. You name it, I probably hate it, unless we're talking about Pink Floyd, Lynryd Skynrd, or Tom Petty. And even in the case of Petty, I can do without the studio albums. The incredible stuff is pretty much all on live bootlegs. So, here is one that comes to mind as most overrated IMO. Eagles- "Hotel California" This should be controversial -- it's like the #1 frat jam of all time.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) Not to derail your question, but I was of the understanding that The Doors never recorded anything worth a damn. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose.

Ahh, what a bunch of crap. Not to hijack this thread, but what are you top 10 Doors songs? Mine: 1. Riders On The Storm 2. The Unknown Soldier 3. The End 4. Peace Frog 5. Waiting For The Sun 6. Five To One 7. Backdoor Man 8. Roadhouse Blues 9. Soul Kitchen 10. Crystal Ship Honorable Mention: People Are Strange Strange Days Alabama Song When The Music's Over Break On Through "Backdoor Man" is like my theme song. At least it used to be, anyway. The men don't know, but the little girls...they understand.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 02:50 PM) But I have had multiple fractures in my foot before (stress fractures in two of the little interior pebble-like bones), that were a pain in the rear to get healed. But once I got to where I could walk around without pain, I was pretty close to 100% healed. Are you 6'5 and approaching 300 pounds? It's reassuring if you're a major fatass or something along those lines. No offense if you are indeed a major fatass. -

While I pay no attention whatsoever to college football, there have got to be some damn good CBs that'll be available towards the end of the 1st Round. There always are. I brought up the Philadelphia Eagles because they drafted these three players in the first two rounds a few years back IIRC: Lito Shepherd Sheldon Brown Michael Lewis We need some CB depth. I think that we could hit the FA market for a respectable TE. Don't get me wrong, though. I'd love to draft a Shockey, Heap, Miller, Dilger, etc. I just don't trust Angelo to make that pick, and I can't see how anyone could based on his track record. He can't scout offensive players on a collegiate level at all. I'd also like to see them experiment with Tillman at one of the safety slots, because he just doesn't look like a long term solution at CB unless he's covering huge receivers. -

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 04:13 AM) Top 75? C'mon now. Call me crazy, but there have to be around 75 guys in this league who are better in terms of coverage. There have to be. I have a Sporting News Scouting Guide in front of me right now. They have him ranked at #54 on their CB list, although they have Peanut at #22, which is just absurd. Just like everyone else, what they have to say about Vasher is based on his speed and tackling ability. His coverage skills leave a lot to be desired. But hey, I'm willing to drop this now. There's not much else to say, unless you want me to keep reiterating the same thing over and over again. If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong. So be it. -

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 10:53 PM) And I do criticize players on this team and hell all my teams you are just wrong on this topic. That wasn't directed at you. I know you're not a Bears homer. I guess that we'll just have to agree to disagree. And no, once I make up my mind about a guy's skillset, I rarely ever get swayed by numbers or anything like that. Based on what I've seen from Nate, I have no reason to believe otherwise. I don't think that he's a Top 75 CB in this league when it comes to coverage, but that's just my opinion based on what I've seen. Two words: Mike Richardson -
Does Dirk Nowitzki do this kind of thing often? Knocking out teeth, dishing out concussions, etc. I seem to recall hearing a few things, but this is just insane.

Baby Dwight had a terrible shooting night (4-18) against Duncan yesterday. He might have had a a double-double at halftime (10 points, 9 rebounds), but he stunk it up from the field something awful. I'd put Chandler on him. Got damn it, we need Antonio Davis back. I never thought that I'd say that....

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 10:04 PM) After the Cincy game, Chad said Vasher was real good, he also said "I love you number 31 and I have whole new respect for Mr. Vasher." Chad gave him real nice praises. This must be the definitive evidence, then. -

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 10:09 PM) I am sorry hammerhead but your blatant Vasher hatin is getting annoying. Even before the season started you were ripping him. All he has done was prove you wrong...what more do you want. It's annoying only if you are a Bears homer. Nobody should be afraid to criticize players on their team. I have praised Vasher for his special teams upside, and I also think that he's respectable against the run. I don't think that he can cover an above average receiver effectively. This is just based on the tools that he has displayed over the course of his career thus far. I think that if you put him on another team, he is Nick Harper. Due to the fact that he's on a squad with the best defensive line in the NFL, he is made to look good. I don't think that I'd have even said anything in the first place if not for the Defensive Player Of The Year talk, which as you know is just pure comedy as far as I'm concerned. -

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 08:02 AM) Umm that at the right place at the right time isnt just luck... its from studying film and knowing where to be.... He doesn't study film in order to know precisely where a QB is going to throw an interception to. He's going to be wherever his man goes. Are you saying that Vasher is some awesome multi-tasking CB with eyes in the back of his head? He can read the QB's eyes while trying to stick an opposing WR? Come on, dude. -
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 06:53 AM) I mean at first I thought it was just this but than your Prior/Zambrano would be a 5th starter at best for the White Sox..... Sweet Jesus, did Josh really say that? When the search options are restored, Josh's posts are sure going to make for some entertaining reading. It can be argued that he is a comedic genius.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 06:49 AM) Now cmon quit the Vasher hating already..... At the begining of the year I was right with you he isnt a very good coverage CB but he makes the big plays.... But this season other than making big plays he has also been pretty good at shutting down his guy. Look at the stats nobody but the guy Tillman is covering has many yards if any at all. I know he is greatly helped by the D-Line pressuring the QB but so far he has been a good CB in covering his guy and making the big plays. That being said he isnt DPOY.... Well, I look at it like this. Tillman is much better than Vasher in terms of coverage, and look how often Tillman gets burnt. Vasher would be getting schooled something fierce if he had to cover guys (on our schedule) like Santana Moss, Chad Johnson, Antonio Bryant, Steve Smith, Joey Galloway, Desmond Mason, Roy Williams, etc. That's f***ing brutal, not to mention the fact that the rookie Chris Harris would have to get his back. I look at Nate Vasher as kind of the equivalent of Nick Harper. He's just been in the right place at the right time an insane amount of times this year. He should play the lottery ASAP. And like I said in a previous post, he has the makings of a special teams star. Unfortunately for him, we are lacking depth right now at the CB slot, so we can't afford to just throw him in at KR/PR with the injury risk. Our upcoming draft needs to be CB-heavy (Philadelphia Eagles style). -
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 04:31 AM) So 1st you're going to say that we get rid of Gordon because he has no offense. But when we talk about Chandler, who is the opposite, we should be patient??? What's your stance? What is Gordon's upside? He is an undersized combo guard who can't play defense worth a s***, takes more stupid shots than just about anyone else that I can think of, etc. He obviously can't play the PG slot properly as he is a selfish, shoot-first type player with below average ball-handling skills. He can't play SG because he's a f***ing midget out of that slot. You tell me what to look for in the future. What I see is crap.
-
Ahh, what the f***. Bulls*** call right there.
-
Hey qwerty, do you still have that Antoine Walker pic? Why does Gordon shoot so many threes? Becuase there are no fours....
-
Gordon picked the right game to get hot.
-
Maggs, I see that you erased your post, but here's my take anyway: Chandler is the hardest working Bull on the court outside of Kirk Hinrich. You can also make an argument for Duhon. You can question Tyson's offense all you want, but the minute you call out his work ethic, you know that I have to question whether or not you've been watching these games.
