  1. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 09:24 PM) Please, never compare this pathetic Bears team to the Sox. I want to know what is so pathetic about a team that is only allowing 11.6 points per game, and just gave up their first rushing TD in motherf***ing Week 8. Stop yourself.
  2. QUOTE(HineyBird @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) After years of heartbreak with the sox they did it and now the bears seem to be playoff bound. Doesnt it make you feel good that after years of chearing on lossing franchises something good is finally happening to them The Bulls just won 6 championships between the years of 1991 and 1998, so what do you mean by "something good is finally happening"?
  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 08:35 PM) IN 1998, the Colts went 3-13 with a rookie QB. In 1999, the Colts went 13-3. Granted, the Colts also drafted James in 1999, but still, that 2nd year turnaround shouldn't be a huge shock. There are isolated cases like Dan Marino, Troy Aikman, and Peyton Manning. But for every QB that goes from terrible in his rookie season to damn near all-pro caliber in his second, you have like 29 who still suck. The QB position is much like the PG slot in basketball. It almost always takes a few years for a guy to develop, with very, very few exceptions. So hell yeah, you have to be completely shocked by Manning's performance thus far, unless you're a Giants homer living in denial or whatever. Also, there is usually a very strong correlation between the progress made by young QBs and a strong O-Line, and the Giants certainly have that with McKenzie, Petigout, O'Hara, Snee, etc.
  4. And how about them Giants? Arizona Won 42-19 @New Orleans Won 27-10 @San Diego Lost 23-45 St. Louis Won 44-24 @Dallas Lost 13-16 Denver Won 24-23 Washington Won 36-0 They should be able to win 5 of their last 9 without much of a problem. @San Francisco Minnesota Philadelphia @Seattle Dallas @Philadelphia Kansas City @Washington @Oakland Like the Broncos, there's a chance that they can go 8-0 at home. Before the season started, I had the Giants down as a 6-10 or 7-9 caliber team, mostly because Manning was still so raw. As you know, an incompetent QB can singlehandedly f*** over an entire team. You knew that Manning would be good, but not damn near all-pro caliber in only his second year.
  5. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 02:12 AM) Jake Plummer, now 25-10 as Denvers starter and is on pace to have a 24 TD-9 pick season. The 1-2 punch of Bell and Anderson is putting up 150 plus yards of rushing with regularity f***ing Broncos should have a 7 game winning streak. @Miami Lost 10-34 San Diego Won 20-17 Kansas City Won 30-10 @Jacksonville Won 20-7 Washington Won 21-19 New England Won 28-20 @N.Y. Giants Lost 23-24 Philadelphia Won 49-21 I think that they'll win a minimum of 5 games out of their last 8: @Oakland (Coming Off A Bye) W N.Y. Jets W @Dallas L @Kansas City L Baltimore W @Buffalo W Oakland W @San Diego L 8-0 at home, and 3-5 on the road. I still can't believe that they lost in Miami. Otherwise, they'd have a great shot at 12 wins.
  6. Nobody has to own up to anything unless they tried to bring down this forum with their constant b****ing and moaning, and I could think of quite a few who would qualify. You can't just brush it off and say 'I was wrong' or 'I'm an idiot' or 'I'm eating crow'. It would be best if you just disappeared.
  7. QUOTE(knightni @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 05:08 AM) I may be the only one here who thinks this...but, I wouldn't mind Steve Lyons doing color on the radio with Farmer if Rooney doesn't come back. I have no idea why, but I like Steve Lyons too. But if Score MGMT doesn't bring back Rooney, I will be severely heated. That guy is unbelievably good at what he does. A rare breed.
  8. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 07:23 AM) Does he have a shot yet? Nope, he just excels in these areas: Running The Court Defending On The Ball Pursuit Of The Ball Cutting Off Passing Lanes Passing Rebounding Rarely, if ever, can you compare a guy to a legend like Scottie Pippen, but I'd say that this comparison is valid. Iggy ain't never gonna develop a decent shot, but he is still valuable beyond words. A true grinder. My kind of player. On the other hand, Ben Gordon excels at street ball. Passing? Defense? Screw that, just give me the rock yo. Iggy does all the little things that contribute to championships. Ben Gordon is a one-trick pony who is destined to be a New York Knick.
  9. David Letterman himself is hilarious, but his show show just continues to get worse and worse every year. Now they have hookers dancing around in what I would presume to be an attempt to lure more fratboys and various other numbnut types to watch the show. Oh, and Paul Schaffer is like the corniest motherf***er in the entertainment industry. Much like Sheryl Swoopes, it wouldn't exactly be breaking news if he were to come out of the closet. That said, I voted for Letterman. I won't even get into Jay Leno. Let's just say that if I saw him getting his ass kicked, I'd probably offer to hold him down. I see that four people have voted for him already. That's pretty sad, y'all. As far as the winner of this poll is concerned, the smart money is on Death. And I apologize if I offended anyone with the Swoopes comment.
  10. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 10:31 PM) I think Bogut might move to the 4 spot depending on matchups. Bogut has a perimeter game unlike Magloire who's strictly inside. We're gonna see just how much of a defensive liability he is at the 4. I've read the same crap about him getting minutes out of that slot. PFs are supposed to be bangers and rebounders, not candy-ass slow-footed motherf***ers with a "perimiter game". That sounds like some Supersonics type horses*** to me, but whatever floats their boat.
  11. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 10:00 PM) Everyone adds "when healthy" next to Magloires name. His career thus far: 2000-01 74 GAMES 2001-02 82 GAMES 2002-03 82 GAMES 2003-04 82 GAMES 2004-05 23 GAMES An injury-prone player? Sort of, but you could say the same for a s***load of big-name players in this league. Fact is, Magloire is an impact big man on both ends of the court. He was originally thought of as moreso of a defensive specialist, but his post game has really developed over the past couple of years. He's worth a heck of a lot more than Desmond Mason and a mid first round pick. And as I stated before, I really like Desmond Mason. He's on my Top 15 Perimiter/Mid-Range Defenders List with Tayshaun Prince, Ron Artest, Josh Smith, Andrei Kirilenko, Tony Allen, Mikael Pietrus, Danny Granger, Trenton Hassell, Eric Williams, Andre Iguodala, Bruce Bowen, Caron Butler, Gerald Wallace, and James Posey. But make no mistake about it, Milwaukee is now much better with Magloire than they were with Mason. They wouldn't have the team defense necessary to advance in the playoffs under either scenario, however.
  12. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 06:51 PM) So will Bogut be playing some PF with Magloire at C? Well, both Dan Gadzuric and Andrew Bogut are completely incapable of playing any PF because their feet are so slow. Think Rasho Nesterovic or Joe Przybilla type feet. I've been reading that Bogut may very well get some minutes there, but if I were the coach, there would be no freaking way. That's just borderline retarded in my basketball world. Remember, Gadzuric will be getting plenty of minutes at C with that questionable contract he received this past offseason. The Bucks are an incredibly stupid organization, make no mistake about it. I see Magloire and Joe Smith manning the 4 in the majority of cases. The Bucks are surprisingly deep in the frontcourt as of now in terms of scoring and rebounding, but they're clearly lacking in terms of defense. When you have slow feet, you're getting f***ed over left and right. They're gonna get obliterated in the playoffs.
  13. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 06:12 PM) I think Milwaukee got ripped off. Desmond Mason and a 1st rd pick are worth way more than Jamal Magloire I like Mason too. He's one of the truly unsung perimiter defenders in this league, kinda like Eric Williams or Tony Allen. He'd have been one hell of a 6th man this year for the Bucks. Seriously though, Magloire is an absolute terror on the boards when healthy. And that 2006 1st Round Pick ain't gonna mean s*** when they win 45+ games. The Bucks pulled off a heist today.
  14. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Oct 22, 2005 -> 08:04 PM) Where are the freakin millions that watched it every week? This sounds like a bunch of Southern Baptists to me. No one admits drinking, but they drink like fish when no one from church will see them. The majority of females between the ages of let's say 20 and 35 in this country probably made it a priority to watch "Friends" every week. Then you have to take into account all of the males who watched that show just to check out Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, the humor, etc. That would make for an insanely huge fanbase. I am surprised that "Seinfeld" edged them out. But then again, "Seinfeld" appeals to all of the baby boomers and what not.
  15. QUOTE(bschmaranz @ Oct 22, 2005 -> 03:51 AM) My brother used to sell him weed when he was at DePaul. Nice.
  16. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Oct 22, 2005 -> 01:03 AM) Kleinschmidt's a legend around these parts. If it's who I'm thinking of there is a Shabonna Park league either named after him, or, in honor of him or something. I don't know. There are a lot of good ole' Chicago names around here. I might be confused. Yep, you're thinking of the right guy. I played basketball at Shabbona Park for 4 years (5th through 8th grade). Yo-Joe's was the place to be after games. That place is a Cubbie hellhole, but god damn is their food good.
  17. QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 11:18 PM) Went to my highschool... only person to make it pro in any sport from reavis. Dude, that's awesome. I actually drafted him this year in the soxtalk league. An SG from my high school (Gordon Tech) was signed by the Supersonics, but he never actually played in an NBA game. Tommy Kleinschmidt...have you ever heard of him? He graduated from HS when I graduated from 8th grade & he went on to become a star at DePaul. He was playing in the Japanese League last I heard.
  18. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 08:27 PM) Boers & Bernstein are at a bar somewhere and they are having people sing Karaoke to this stupid song. It's hilarious. The first guy was awesome. It was so bad that it was good.
  19. QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 08:22 PM) Were you and anthrax both dropped on your heads repeatedly as children? Only explanation i can think of... That's quote of the month worthy.
  20. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 07:38 PM) So why did I get the f*** Off? That was meant for people like Poppy, Antonio Osuna, jabroni, etc. Tony isolated the phrase "f*** Off" from his thought, which makes it look like he was saying it to the person that he was responding to, but that wasn't his intention. You've been nothing but optimistic as far as I can tell/recall. f*** off, Kap. If it were up to me, you would most definitely be banned by now.
  21. I'm on AIM with the Rally Crede, and he told me that he hates Felix with a passion.
  22. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 06:37 PM) I don't think anyone would consider Xfiles a sitcom, all though I did love me some Xfiles... That's right. When I hear the word sitcom, I usually just think of television shows in general. If that were the case, "Law & Order" would most definitely be way up there on that list. Just a brain cramp as Ken Harrelson would say.
