Just a general comment here: The Dark Knight was a good movie. But judging on some of the comments here and other people I run into every day, if I had not seen it myself, I'd have to assume it was the greatest movie ever made. It wasn't even the best movie of the year, let alone among the top 5. Not only that, Batman Begins was better. And furthermore, Batman Begins isn't the best of the series. Moving on... Anyone that's seen Synecdoche, New York... can you make sense of it for me? (Besides the overall general point of the movie Kaufman was after.) Why the hell was that woman's house on fire? And the realtor's son living in the basement? Did the clocks/time play any significance? What was Kaufman trying to get across by jumping all around the sequence of time? What else?

Saw this word twice in the subtitles of the move "Das Boot." I didn't know what it meant.

QUOTE (Texsox @ Dec 2, 2008 -> 10:57 PM) BTW, also from my zit-Doc, hot water tends to cause the skin to swell a bit, resulting in a not as close as can be shave. He recommended, at a minimum, a cold blade. But if you can tolerate it, cold water. It tightens the skin and stands the beard up. Hot water opens the pours. The cold water is news to me, not sure if I trust it on either accounts as I've never heard that from anyone, friends and doctors alike. EDIT: Upon more research, hot water first, cold water when finished seems like the way to go...?

QUOTE (Shadows @ Nov 20, 2008 -> 09:31 PM) When the f*** did I ever say anything was "fact" about it Everything I have written from my experience playing the game has been my opinion on it.. If it will make you feel better about it, Ill shoot IGN an email telling them that the gameplay sucks.. And to you and everyone else in this thread who love the game you guys need to get a clue.. does that help any? What is fact is that there is better games to spend that kind of money on than Fallout 3, but for those of you who love it by all means knock yourself out I don't give a s***. I just thought that since you were all gushing about how great it was a differing opinion on the game would help people who were reading everything. It's how you write it. Context, implications, etc. Either you paid too much attention to your high school English teacher, or you just don't pay attention to what you write. My point here is there are subtle ways to acknowledge that you think the game sucks. Coming out and saying it's trash, the gameplay sucks and what not, that's not subtle--you might as well punch me in the face and tell me that it was just a 'love tap.' And it's not fact that there are better games out there than Fallout 3. That's all personal opinion.

QUOTE (Shadows @ Nov 20, 2008 -> 11:43 AM) the game sucks ass, accept it Tell that to the reviewers and all the people that love the game. I understand you're stating an opinion, but stop writing it out as fact.

QUOTE (Shadows @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 09:36 PM) I never said anyone is wrong for liking the game, but I played it and the actual gameplay was crappy The game is fantastic, get over it.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 09:48 AM) Anyone recommend a Vaio? I'm also in the market for a new laptop. I would recommend a Vaio.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 09:15 AM) IMO, don't do it. The HP laptop I got is the biggest piece of s*** I have ever had. I've never had the same problems with Dell. And I have gone through 5 or 6 laptops in 10 years. Have an HP laptop and it's nothing but headaches. Thing is a worthless piece of trash.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 02:44 PM) Bob Dylan at #7? Yeah, I stopped reading right there. Artist? Sure. Songwriter, hell yeah. Singer? Not a chance. Well, to be fair, there are quite a few artists on there that aren't great singers by any means. Ray Charles at #2 is the bigger tragedy.
-
QUOTE (shipps @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 01:33 PM) Bob Dylan was not a good singer. One of the greatest songwriters but not a good singer. Damn you.

Best episode of the season.

QUOTE (Yoda @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 10:09 PM) What is the new show that you speak of, Bob? Boldly Going Nowhere

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 11:30 PM) Tonight's episode was a pile of suck. Not even Bob Dylan could defend it. The entire colonial time flashback seems more of the stunt a show in its 6th/7th season does when it's out of ideas. Hopefully we're not going to experience a clip show anytime soon. I wouldn't go as far as to call it a pile of suck. It's not season 1, 2, or 3 quality but it had its moments. I'm not sure if the new show they're working has anything to do with the drop in quality, but I hope that is the case because those first three seasons were some of the best television I've ever seen.

QUOTE (Shadows @ Nov 3, 2008 -> 04:56 PM) The Wii is cool... if you're 11 While I'm not a fan of the Wii (was a previous owner of the system), it has done an amazing job reaching the demographic that the PS3 and 360 cannot. When I first had the system, I played it with a few people who don't like video games and they had a blast and ended up buying the system. At that time, I also had a PS3 which I showed them, and while I was "wowed" more by the PS3, they didn't care. They were astounded by the graphics, but when I put the controller in their hands, they didn't get it and didn't care. If you're a gamer or even an occasional gamer, the Wii is not for you. The games aren't especially deep, but they offer interaction with the games that PS3 and 360 don't. I'll tell you this: if the Wii had the power of either PS3 or 360 or even just the same game developers behind it, there is no doubt in my mind that I'd own a Wii. But Nintendo didn't go that way and they haven't since Sony and Microsoft stole the show. They've searched for other ways to reach different demographics, and with the Wii, have ultimately ran the show, while Sony and Microsoft battle for the people who will always be there for the market. Besides, I think the Wii is setting a new shape for gaming. While the technology will certainly be refined and improved, I don't think controllers will be the same when the PS3 and 360 reach the end. Interaction with games is an incredible thing. Little Big Planet is another, though different, example of this--and on the surface, that is a game for 11 year olds, but deeper, it's quite sophisticated. The Wii doesn't tap into my gamer needs, but it's not a childish system. It deserves some amount of respect for taking the risk that it did and introducing people who don't care for video games to them. That said, until they try to reach the people Sony and Microsoft are after, I'll never buy it again.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 01:14 PM) I know, and I dont really care what the bad things are about the system(you hear me BobDylan?)

QUOTE (Felix @ Nov 1, 2008 -> 09:42 PM) Fallout 3 was awesome. Just finished it, will probably start back up with another character in a few days or so. Very, very enjoyable after having played the others so much back in the day. I've been playing around with the sidequests before I go into the main quest. Pretty fun game, love the gore.

QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Oct 22, 2008 -> 04:02 PM) Thanks for the replies guys, but can you get more specific as to my question? I know about 90% of people like the show better, but for the things I like in a game as described above, im wondering what people think is the best. Thanks a bunch Don't buy a game based on graphics and realism. Buy it based on gameplay. You'll play a game that is fun a hell of a lot longer than you will one that looks "right." That said, 2k8 looks more accurate, but not all that much. The Show might be a step down in looks, but it plays as one of the best baseball games I've ever played and doesn't look awful by any means.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Oct 31, 2008 -> 04:28 PM) Yeah, I agree. Last nights episode was good. Remove the useless filler scenes where Dee/Charlie visit (and then revist) the cardio instructor and it would have one of the seasons best. I also watched a good number of Season 3 episodes on HULU earlier and have to say it's far superior than the first two. All 15 aren't available for viewing, but even with the several I've seen I can already made that judgement. I thought it was pretty funny when they walked back in the instructors room and put the CD in.

Loved the last episode and the One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest parody.

Fallout 3 is pretty badass. I'm still getting used to a few things but I enjoy that they didn't hold back on language and gore in the slightest. I guess right now the only thing that bothers me is that once you go into a city, it can be rather difficult to get out. I wandered into Georgetown last night and spent a good 3 or 4 hours trying to figure out how to get out. Also picked up Little Big Planet. It's alright, don't think it deserves the hype it gets. The pre-made levels aren't very challenging and while the level making tool is awesome (and complex), I don't think many people will put in the time to make anything truly amazing. The only thing I hope for is that they "feature" user made levels that everyone can download and play.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 23, 2008 -> 11:17 AM) YES! I just bought it and love it. I remember playing Socom 1 and 2 for hours so many nights. Socom 3 i thought sucked, as did CA. This game is similar to socom 2. I was actually pretty awesome at 1 and 2 when i played all the time but now i suck and its so frustrating! haha. I just gotta learn these new maps. Initial impressions of the game are great however Since it's such a team based game, if you're looking for a clan PM me, I'll have the leader invite you.

QUOTE (Texsox @ Oct 29, 2008 -> 01:11 PM) While it probably feels good to keep someone's property, are you accepting responsibility if something happens to that person's stuff? If it is damaged or stolen while you have it, wouldn't you be responsible? You know it isn't yours and you are not returning it. Sounds like you are opening yourself up to some trouble that wouuld just make it worse. Were you items kept in their own storage unit, or in a large warehouse operation? In their own storage unit. As far as the items I have that I don't own, I'm being totally unreasonable. However, the company doesn't know what items I have or whose they are. I plan to hold these items until they at least show a willingness to cooperate and not run with my money and my things. Whether I'll be held responsible if I damage them, I doubt it. I'd like to see them prove it. Those items technically should still be in storage for those customers. They aren't. They're in some strangers house while the company is under contractual obligation to them. For whose people's stuff I have, I'm being an asshole holding it. But until I get the ball rolling on some of the things people have told me to do in this thread, I'm going to be as big a dick as possible. Unless, of course, anyone on this board is missing a box of books, a box of vinyl records and a box of baby clothes. I'll be happy to hand them over in that case. But if not, not until they're willing to cooperate.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Oct 28, 2008 -> 07:28 PM) I watched Seasons 1 and 2 earlier and have to admit I wasn't too impressed. It was good, but many people I know would have you believe the earlier seasons were these untouchable collections of comedic gold. I also wouldn't say it has declined in quality, at all. Several issues: -I don't really like Danny Devito's character (in this show, and pretty much everything he has ever done) -Charlie's voice really gets to me. His yelling parts should be limited. -Pay attention to any episode, and it seems (atleast to me) that every other line on that show is a question. I don't know why I noticed it, maybe it isn't different than any other show, but when I did it stood out. This isn't a direct example from the show, but just the general idea: "Hey did you lock up the bar? "What you mean? "You were supposed to lock up the bar? Weren't you? "No. Are you sure you weren't? This continues for quite awhile. Even with these small issues, I enjoy the show. What disappointed me was the first two episodes to the series were hilarious. I thought to myself, "wow, everyone was right." Then it dropped down quite a bit. It's still entertaining though, even in its low points. Oh, and those two gay brothers are the funniest characters on the show. To each his own, my friend.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 29, 2008 -> 10:48 AM) Does the contract refer to an external terms of service? Or just not mention them at all? Nothing. In fact, of the many things I signed, the only thing they gave me to keep was a pay stub.
