QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 19, 2009 -> 06:11 PM) It's what I do. Also, on the whole concept of a "Missing link", I'm going to outsource some commentary. You quoted somebody who said it much better than I did. And corrected me at the same time.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 19, 2009 -> 05:47 PM) I thought "the missing link" we were looking for was between aps and neanderthals. or neanderthals and homosapian. Also, to build on this and what has been said, I believe there are perhaps several missing pieces they are searching for.

About 5,000 votes behind. We can get this done. It looks like you can randomly enter names and e-mails. Don't make me post this on Reddit, folks.

QUOTE (whitesoxmanager @ May 19, 2009 -> 05:19 PM) i am going to predict paid attendance less than 14k. and we for sure lose all 3 in this series as well. Well, no use watching then. The sky will soon crush your bones, you have to worry about that first. -
QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 19, 2009 -> 06:25 AM) Even though it isnt real, those guys know that dog has it in him to do that. Thats one hell of a badass jump over that car on to that guys chest/arm Is Joey Gathright really a dog trained by SWAT-like police forces?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/8057465.stm Sounds like a pretty important discovery, but of course, they are taking it in with skepticism. Same story at the WSJ: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124235632936122739.html

Got around to watching Milk despite my hatred for Sean Penn. Thought it was mediocre, if not bad. So many interesting things were happening, but the story never took us any deeper than showing us.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ May 19, 2009 -> 12:08 AM) Yea - I can relate to that. But I'm not sure I want to robowhatever he said. Oh, you're into the old fashion LSD? That's cool.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ May 19, 2009 -> 01:00 AM) Sounds like the kind of fun you can have while robo-tripping (taking the extra strength of robitussin and trying to stay awake) I've never done that, but considering I am a diagnosed insomniac (contrary to the beliefs of people who don't know me, the dark circles around my eyes are not from a crack habit) and can stay up through any over the counter sleep aid, I just may have to give this a try...

QUOTE (kapkomet @ May 19, 2009 -> 12:02 AM) I think I know what you mean. It causes me to post poop posts all over soxtalk. The short walk into bed was a little adventerous. Try watching TV next time. Everyone will have three heads and six eyes. I sound like a f***ing junkie telling you this, but there is nothing wrong with slightly abusing what the doctor gives you, eh?

QUOTE (heirdog @ May 18, 2009 -> 10:33 PM) This isn't the NBA or NFL, you can't trade draft picks in MLB. I like how you turned it red. Nice touch.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ May 18, 2009 -> 01:00 AM) danman, it would depend on how these girls got sick and the consequences and after behavior of sickness. It doesn't sound like sickness with benefits, so pukedness isn't so funny afterall. I think I like Ambien pretty well... feel like you're drunk, without the hangover in the morning. niteknnnnneknight. Stay up as long as you can on that stuff and then go walk around. EDIT: For your safety, don't go to the kitchen.

QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ May 18, 2009 -> 10:27 PM) I voted. Semi-related...BobDylan's avatar: Wow, they sure put those pups through a lot in their training. I thought it was a real gun fight and the dog just said, "f*** it, I got this," and went off and did that. It's like the day I found out Santa Claus wasn't real.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ May 18, 2009 -> 10:28 PM) I'd give up everything I have to be him. Every dream, every aspiration. And I know you would too, don't lie.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ May 18, 2009 -> 07:36 PM) Damn right you're not the Candyman. Better him coming out of my mirror than shipps.

QUOTE (KipWellsFan @ May 18, 2009 -> 04:06 PM) I'm not so sure. Hillcoat had no problem making The Proposition quite bleak and boring... Seriously?

QUOTE (shipps @ May 18, 2009 -> 02:56 PM) I have lied about not having any gum at times because I get so fed up and they caught me opening some and got mad. Why do you have the right to be mad at me for this? Do I not get credit for the 6 month supply I have given you the past few months? It is common courtesy to give them a piece of gum after they do the deed. Have you any manners? It is worse than garlic breath.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ May 18, 2009 -> 02:31 PM) Unbelievable album. A Love Supreme and Kind of Blue are the only two other jazz albums that are up there on par with Black Saint in my (admittedly limited) book. If you feel up to it, give these two albums a try: Suspicious Activity? Radiolarians II (this one is admittedly different, but still very good.)

QUOTE (Nixon @ May 18, 2009 -> 01:53 PM) Most of the stuff I hated was story/world related. Still wondering why the hell Dad bothered leaving Project Purity/The Citadel/Rivet City, growing up sheltered in a dying vault is somehow preferable to the reasonably secure Rivet City and the main hub of the BOS? Really? What the f*** were the Mutants doing in Vault 87? What the hell was the point? Just to have Super Mutants in Fallout 3's east coast? How about that in Fallout 1 + 2 and grand total of TWO nuclear devices were set off and Fallout 3 has them dispensed like candy. A lot of the game just smacks of 'not getting it' and pretty much throwing out all the themes that made the first two Fallout games so interesting. /lore nerd rant off The shooting mechanics were also pretty boring. Mostly because 99% of enemies just ran right up to you and swatted at you til they died. FUN! Ramping up the difficulty didn't help either as it just made them bullet sponges + nerfed your weapons. FUN! Mercifully, you could bypass most combat by just hitting the 'win now' button, aka VATS. Games have advanced to the point that we're capable of portraying huge worlds in striking detail but the game play is still barely a step above "OW MY BALLS" (Gears o War/etc) ... I was pretty underwhelmed by Fallout, mostly because it was exactly what I expected. I am looking forward to Fallout: New Vegas since it's being built by the ex-Black Isle guys. Never played the earlier Fallouts. This has nothing to do with what I'm about to say. Earlier I defended the VATS system (I think, and if I didn't, I would have.). I can excuse a clunky fighting system in the American/Euro RPG if they get the old school RPG elements right. Oblivion did it right up until they decided that AI would level up with you. There was an abundance of things to do on the side of the main quest. Fallout 3, there wasn't. The side quests did not pay off unless one got the body armor that they couldn't use until 40 gameplay hours later. There were no guilds to join, no special weapons to find that greatly benefited the player, no epic quests that were agonizingly boring (think NOTR in Final Fantasy 7). It was simply: get ammo, blow heads up, find pop, avoid the fast bastards with huge claws. A post apocalyptic world should've been about exploration (something the world they presented easily could have easily featured), but was not. Not one single f***ing time did I enter a cave or a dusty room with blown up desks and shelves and think, "Maybe I'll find something awesome in here." Nope, instead, twelve shotgun shells, a half broken rifle and maybe some drugs. Nothing else, ever.
