QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 12:35 PM) I love Julio Franco, that guy never ceases to amaze me. Prior was two years old when Franco first started playing. That guy's running on batteries or something.

You have to give up quality to get quality. Plus, Ozzie is very familiar with Burnett. I'd do it in a heartbeat. I'd just be afraid of the prospects that KW would throw in. Our rotation would be so nasty.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) Do they still expect Lee to play? He said he would. Just no HR Derby.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 11:58 AM) lol well first off we have to have the American League win the All-Star game, then make it to the playoffs and World Series. But otherwise, yes I'm free. The AL will win the All-Star game. Pods will steal 2B & 3B. Konerko will drive him in and Garland will be the winning pitcher....

Great idea. Let me know what day.

Welcome and enjoy

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome post. I truly agree.

I heard he got enough votes equal to Ramirez, Damon & Guerrero. Why don't we vote for our players this hard from the beginning? Anyway, great job all of us.

Loved what I saw from Jenks. Frank = HR machine Dye = Nice job at 1B tonight. SOXTALK .... YES!! PODS = ALL- STAR.... YES!!!

QUOTE(SHAFTR @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 04:20 PM) I do, maybe it's because I just graduated with a 4 yr degree in film. It's my hobby and something I'm thinking about going to grad school for so I can teach it. Right now, the Box Office is down this summer and some are predicting that theatres may be on the decline. Apparently, people just prefer to sit at home and watch a DVD. Also, hundreds of people work on a film and it takes a big Box Office draw for a movie to break even before DVD. Finally, theatres don't really make that much money, so they need filmgoers. And, finally finally, sitting on your computer watching a new release is no where near the same as going to a theatre and seeing the film. There's many factors involved in why people don't go to the movies. Tickets prices, the decline in quality movies and also the courtesy of other moviegoers (i.e. ringing cellphones, talking, crying babies) All of those factor into why there is a decline in movie attendance. Also, most people don't sit in front of their computer to watch a movie. Usually, you convert it to VCD so it'll play on a normal DVD player. Before seeing Revenge of the Sith this past summer, I hadn't been to a theatre in years for those particular reasons.

QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 04:11 PM) GArrett Anderson just hit a 3 run Jack vs Johan... Bottom 7th LAA 6 MIN 5

QUOTE(Nokona @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) Dye will play 1st for Paulie tonight, unknown if Paulie is hurting or not. Probably just a really really needed day off for the guy. Also Crede will sit again Probably just an off day for Konerko. Ozzie usually likes to rest some of his regulars before an off-day, so they can have back-to-back off days. With the way Dye's been swinging, there is no way he needs to sit.

Hopefully, Timo is out shopping for luggage. It was hilarious seeing that midget playing 1B last month. At least Dye has some height. But for the love of God, when is Gload coming back?
-
It has to be Hawk. But Rooney is by far the best. I don't even know if Farmer has a catchphrase. "uh-oh" sounds like it's a bad thing or something.

Even though he may not be hitting a lot of singles, a lot of his HRs have come at crucial parts of games: His first one of the year vs. CLE to tie the game Last week against DET to give us the lead Last night to give us the lead I'm sure there's more, been at least his HRs haven't been meaningless.

I hope I'm wrong, but I'm getting a little tired of "can't miss prospects" coming up to the majors and becoming a bust. Just once, I want one guy to thrive and I hope it's this guy.
-
Let's keep this thing going. Can't wait to see ESPN's reaction if their darling Jeter loses. It would be a complete disaster.
-
Well, we should be in for a long evening. Crawford and Gathright might be running wild. Jose will throw two more wild pitches, but the Sox will still pull it out in the end. Hopefully, The Full Count can get his 4th W tonight.

Frank = The Man Scotty = I thought his double was outta there for a second. Dye = I never doubted you the first two months of the season Politte = Comes in, gets one out, gets his sixth win. I love it. Now has twice has many as Contreras. Finally, Hermanson = Mr. Automatic 30 GAMES OVER!!! UNf***INGBELIEVABLE. Angels & Twins tied as we speak. VOTE FOR SCOTTY
