  1. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 09:47 PM) Is it official they aren't bringing Scrubs back? I started watching it this season and I find it hillarious. As far as shows for me. Men Behaving Badly - Freaking hillarious (good old Rob Schneider) Futurama Jack and Bobby (I must have been one of the few to ever watch the damn show, but I liked it despite it being on the WB). Last i heard...scrubs went from their fall 05-06 lineup to a replacement series to canceled. they already have the shows in the can and now NBC is showing them whenever they can. I will admit....i'm not 100% sure about this...about 98% so i could be wrong but i'm trying to find where i saw that it was canceled.
  2. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 08:43 PM) I was always a big fan of The Pretender That was the name of the other show i couldn't think of. I loved the Pretender. i think it was TBS or TNT that did a couple of Pretender tv-movies. the last one was a few years ago. left alot of unanswered questions.
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 08:22 PM) Wait Scrubs is getting axed yeah...that's why NBC has been burning off the new shows the last few weeks on Tuesday nights 2 at a time. i think they had a few on Wednesday nights as well. I'm not sure how many are left but for whatever reason....scrubs is on it's deathbed. :headshake
  4. There was a 'game' show on Fox Murder in Small Town X. i loved that show. All the improv actors...the rebuilding of the town..the storyline was pretty well thought out. Of course it was on Fox so little chance of them bringing back a show i like.
  5. one show i always liked was "The Mole" on ABC. a very well produced show that got hammered by the likes of Survivor. i also thinks "Scrubs" is getting the shaft too early. i have the first 2 seasons on DVD and cry laughing every time i watch them.
  6. QUOTE(Balance @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 07:07 PM) Well, that's what it means to conduct a scientific poll. So, yes, that sample is statistically representative of the whole. Besides it does matter what position the soldiers were in when asked. If you ask a guy stuck in a foxhole with bullets flying over his head every day then hell yeah he's gonna want to leave. Now ask a bunch of supply people back at the bases who maybe see the good going on and they will tell you something different . again....you can take a poll over there and have it skewed to any side you want.
  7. QUOTE(Balance @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 06:53 PM) http://www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=1075 A Zogby poll released today showed that an overwhelming 72% of our troops in Iraq believe that we should completely withdraw from Iraq within one year. I guess they want to "cut and run" like Kerry and Murtha, eh? I'm just waiting for Rove's spin on this one. Sample size: 944 Troop level: 140,000 (about that) percentage of soilders asked : .006 i guess that 680 soliders in the sample size speaks for the rest. Yet another worthless poll.

  10. I know there are some SIU grads and students on here (myself SIU 87-91) and i remember ordering LaRoma's pizza. not sure if it's still there but that was some DAMN good pizza. a bit greasy but still good. Quartro's had great slices you could buy but for some reason they couldn't capture the same taste in their full pizzas. I guess that's why they used to make all of their money on the slices. !!!!!SIU!!!!!
  11. i grew up on Aurielo's pizza and my kids are growing up on it as well. they are opening up one in Lockport about 1 mile from me this June. I've already put my credit card on file..LOL!!!!!!!!

  18. CHICAGO -- William Ligue, the man who attacked a Kansas City Royals coach during a Chicago White Sox game, has been returned to jail on a probation violation. Cook County Court Associate Judge Joseph M. Claps ruled Friday that Ligue violated his probation when he was charged in April 2004 with breaking into a car in suburban Harvey. Ligue was ordered held on $400,000 bond Friday, said Cook County state's attorney's office spokeswoman Marcy Jensen. On Sept. 19, 2002, Ligue and his teenage son ran onto the field and attacked Kansas City first-base coach Tom Gamboa. Ligue was sentenced to 30 months probation. Prosecutors had sought five years in prison for the attack on Gamboa, who suffered a loss of hearing. On Friday, Claps scheduled Ligue's sentencing on the probation violation for March 10. Ligue's status hearing in the burglary case is set for Feb. 21. i didn't see or hear this this weekend and i'm not sure if it was posted. either way all i can say is Mr. Ligue....... :finger :finger SUCKS TO BE YOU!!!! HAVE FUN IN JAIL!!!!

  21. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Feb 22, 2006 -> 08:17 PM) i've never heard the term. looked it up to see what it meant and found this. wikipedia has everything... With words like these.... Eh Hole (U.S. states bordering CAN) Canadians, in reference to how they say "eh?" and Cosby Kids (U.S.) a racist term for human feces that refers to the fictional Huxtable children. Common usage, as in "I've got to drop the Cosby Kids at the pool.", meaning use the toilet. and Cowboy (Europe) an American, often used by political cartoonists. (Not offensive to many Americans, reflecting European ignorance of American cultural norms). that could make things around here interesting. sidenote: Europeans actually think "Cowboy" is a ethnic slur???? Maybe if you're from Philly or Washington...

    Cheap gas..

QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 22, 2006 -> 08:17 PM) Neat little tool.. http://autos.msn.com/everyday/gasstations.aspx?zip=&src=Netx Most mornings while listening the WBBM for a traffic report they list area stations and the lowest prices. quite often i hear the BP station i pass everyday going to work mentioned as one with the lowest price. I always feel a small tinge of pride when i say "Hey..that's where i get my gas!"
  23. NEW YORK - They're shaken, stirred and just plain angry. And several months late with their response. A group of James Bond fans have launched a Web site, http://www.craignotbond.com, to protest British actor Daniel Craig replacing Pierce Brosnan in the 007 film franchise, and boycott the upcoming Bond movie "Casino Royale." The fair-haired Craig, whose recent screen credits include "Munich" and "The Jacket," was tapped last October to play the secret-agent icon. "EON Productions angered fans around the world when they fired Pierce Brosnan at the height of his popularity as Bond," said a statement on the site. "To add insult to injury, EON cast a short, blond, odd-looking Daniel Craig in the role of Bond." "Craig, described by The New York Times as having a 'pale, flattened face and large, fleshy ears' is a terrible choice for Bond. If EON Productions and Sony Pictures will not accept they've made a big mistake, then Bond fans promise to boycott Casino Royale!" Calls by The Associated Press to EON Productions and a representative for Craig were not immediately returned on Tuesday. Brosnan stepped into the shoes of dashing predecessors Sean Connery and Roger Moore to play a blue-eyed, dark-haired Bond in "Tomorrow Never Dies," "The World Is Not Enough" and "Die Another Day." In its statement, the Web site claimed EON did not want to pay for Brosnan or other high-profile actors Hugh Jackman and Clive Owen as replacements Where is the outrage from the pasty white guys who have been slighted by these people?? As a pasty white guy i'm offended deeply that people think someone like me can't play Bond....James Bond.
  24. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Feb 22, 2006 -> 05:20 PM) How do you sue someone who is the ringleader of an illegal activity that you were a part of. i was wondering the same thing. Sounds like a rejected skit from SNL or something.
