ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - A man is suing an auto-parts store for assault and battery after he attempted to hold up the business and employees responded by beating him with a metal pipe. Dana Buckman, 46, walked into an auto shop brandishing a semiautomatic pistol July 5, 2005, only to have it turned on him by employees Eli Crespo and Jerry Vega, police said. The men beat Buckman with a metal pipe and held him with his own gun. Buckman escaped, only to be arrested a week later. He pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery and was sentenced to 18 years in prison as a repeat violent felon. Now Buckman has claimed the men chased him out of the store and continued to beat him. He is suing the auto shop and the two men for the injuries he suffered and for intentionally inflicted emotional distress. Crespo and Vega could not be reached for comment. emotional distress

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 05:45 PM) "John "Earthquake" Tenta passed away this morning at the age of 42 after a lengthy battle with bladder cancer. Tenta is survived by his wife and three kids." Any fan of old school 80's wrestling definitely remembers Earthquake. From the 'Quakeburgers' in the feud with Jake Roberts to his matches with Hogan, he'll be sorely missed. Prayers go out to his family. On another note....i would hardly call what he did 'wrestling'. The Natural Disasters were hired at Hulk Hogan's request because they were big guys and they made Hogan look good. They probably had less moves than Hogan...and that's hard to do. At the time...Hogan was getting alot of his friends jobs that didn't deserve them.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 11:51 PM) I dont listen to very much talk at all. About the only time I really ever do is when Im on a long road trip and I'll put on SIRIUS Patriot and listen to their NRA show and Michael Savage. I love Savage. i may not always agree with him but i want to be able to say that i was listening when he finally has his heart attack on air and fall over. He gets so worked up sometimes it's funny. He does make some good points though

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 03:32 PM) Mainly, and this is according to the ACLU of So. California page -- the kid didn't ask them to take on the case. So the ACLU only looks out for the civil liberties of those that b**** the loudest? I thought it was the principle! Hmmm, maybe that shouldn't have been in green.

Why is it when you send something by plane it's called a 'shipment' but when you send something by boat it's called 'car-go'??????

QUOTE(juddling @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 02:48 PM) katie's quotes over the years sorry...i forgot to put up the intro for the piece i linked. Memories of Katie’s Dramatic Liberal Bias Katie Couric departed the Today show after 15 years Wednesday with hours of misty, watercolor memories, it’s quite obvious that CBS knew it was not only getting one of America’s most famous journalists, but also one of America’s most liberal ones. To mark Couric’s NBC career, here’s a very brief listing of some of Katie’s dramatic liberal bias, going all the way back to 1991. they said the list was a brief one so it's not like they watched years of tape and only found a few instances a year.

Chicago: Meter Maid Arrested for Ticketing Cop Meter maid arrested for refusing to void a parking ticket given to a Chicago, Illinois police officer. Meter maid Jackie Fegan, 40, was arrested for refusing to void a ticket issued to Chicago, Illinois police officer Robert Reid on May 18. Reid had illegally parked his personal white minivan at 700 N. Michigan, claiming he was on "police business." After seeing the ticket, Reid flagged down Fegan and insisted she tear up the ticket. Fegan refused. When she walked away across the street, she was arrested for jaywalking. She was handcuffed and taken into custody at the Near North District police station. "They were hurting me. They wouldn't stop," Fegan told the Chicago Sun-Times. "It's unreal. One minute I'm working, and the next minute I'm being hauled off and hurt and thrown into a paddy wagon. He was very, very violent." Fegan was not charged with any crime and was released after thirty minutes. She plans to sue the city for false arrest. :headshake :headshake

New look for some superheroes NEW YORK, May 28 (UPI) -- Comic book superheroes have always been a diverse lot, at least in costume and special abilities -- but, now some are going to be different in other ways. At DC Comics, for example, The New York Times reports, diversity in the $500 million comic book business includes some new heroes with familiar names. There's a new Batwoman, who now will be a lesbian socialite by night and a crime fighter later at night. And Blue Beetle, who's been changed into a Mexican teenager with a magical scarab. Over at Marvel Comics, Black Panther, king of the fictional African nation of Wakanda, will marry Storm, the weather-controlling mutant and X-Man. Luke Cage, a black street fighter who married his white girlfriend in April, plays a key role in "New Avengers." Of course, Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman will always be around. Generally, the same. gee...next thing you know, someone will imply that something was going on between Batman and Robin...lol

manlaws click link and enter your birthdate and it takes you to the Miller site where you can watch the first 3 commercials of "The Men of the Square Table". If you haven't seen them before they are funny. I have a question for anyone who could answer it....if you click on the bios you can see each member. Most are pretty recognizable like Burt Reynolds, Triple H, Eddie Griffin, Jerome Bettis, rodeo star Ty Murray and even Mr. Ralston (the guy who cut off his arm while trapped under a rock while mountain climbing) but anyone help with the others???? On the site they are labeled Mr. Gesner ( i think he's a comedian), Mr. Flynn, Mr. Binnie, and Mr. Renteria. Anyone recognize these guys??? a co-worker and i were wondering....no money riding on it or anything but curious. any help???

Daughter of TV Bounty Hunter 'Dog' Dies HONOLULU - A daughter of reality TV star Duane "Dog" Chapman was killed in a car accident a day before her father's wedding, a spokesman said Saturday. Barbara Katy Chapman, 23, died Friday night near her home in Fairbanks, Alaska, said Michael Feeney, senior vice president of A&E television network. Duane Chapman's wedding on the Big Island went forward as planned Saturday after the family consulted with a preacher and agreed to celebrate her life at the ceremony, Feeney told The Associated Press. The star of "Dog the Bounty Hunter" married his longtime sidekick, Beth Smith. The couple have been together for 16 years and have two children. The wedding will be featured in an Aug. 14 episode of the show, about Chapman and his tattooed crew of fugitive finders. Barbara Chapman had not been expected to attend the wedding, and the circumstances of the accident were unclear, Feeney said. She was one of 11 of the bounty hunter's children. She is survived by her mother, Lyssa Greene, and her 4-year-old son, Travis Drake-Lee Chapman.

QUOTE(Texsox @ May 15, 2006 -> 05:46 PM) Amen. We are always better off at sending money to people, (tsunami, Iraq, Africa) but we really hate it when they show up at our doorstep and want to work. When someone shows up at my doorstep wanting to work they stop and ring the bell. They don't come in through my cellar windows, camp in my living room then demand i open the front door for their 39 family members coming up the walk!
