QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 01:41 PM) That's the first time I've ever seen "Tori Spelling" and "attractive" used in the same sentence. It is amazing what an inheritance can do to a girl.....lol

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 08:07 PM) Uh, there was a shove from that kid before he got his ass kicked. I'm not saying he deserved it, but he did provoke it. The other kid needs to put a pair of gloves on, he's got raw skillz. hmmmm..pushing and shoving under the board for a rebound. pushing continues up court. sure...all part of guys playing baskeball. a push provkes another push. a push doesn't provoke getting hit in the neck, knocked cold, and pummeled . Nothing that kid could have done provoked that kind of response. At the very least, you could tell the kid was out cold when he hit the floor and he could have left it at that. Instead, he pulled a wussy move and attacked a kid who had NO chance to defend himself. I'm almost willing to bet anything that somewhere in this kid's defense he will claim the white kid called him the n-word.

aww..come on dude...he was just keeping it real. He was dissed on the court and needed to handle his business I'm sure the reports will come out on how that kid is such a good boy and wouldn't do anything like this. :headshake

Fire Crew Bosses Who Can't Speak Spanish Can Lose Jobs Oregon Begins To Strictly Enforce Language Law With 24 major wildfires burning across the southwestern United States, fire officials need every firefighter they can get. They've done that in Oregon but it's created another problem. Officials are now having to lay off some of the bosses who manage those firefighting crews because the bosses are not bilingual. Many of the newer hires in Oregon only speak Spanish. The state said all bosses must speak the same language of their crew on the fire lines for safety reasons. They want to make sure that the leader of the crews can quickly communicate during an emergencey if the fire turns or if there is another problem on the fire lines. "Our main concern is that they are safe, and they are in a safe environment, and a lot of that deals with communication," said Jim Walker, with the Oregon Department of Forestry. "If you have one Spanish guy on the crew, as an English crew boss, you can no longer be a crew boss. You have to step back to a squad boss, which is a demotion," said Jaime Pickering, a firefighter squad boss. The state of Oregon actually made the change in 2003. It just started strictly monitoring the law this year ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ok...let me get this straight. You have a crew chief with many years experience. along come new hires who can't speak English (why should THAT stop them being hired ) and so the crew chief suffers a demotion because of a language problem????!!!! OMFG!!!!!!!!! I'm not one for unions but i hope there is a huge fight over this FU Oregon!!! :finger :finger :finger :finger :finger :finger :finger :finger :finger :finger

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 07:31 PM) I have to say, a couple of weeks ago someone was posting all these notes about how great a show Lost was. I didnt believe you guys for a second. So I went to my local Blockbuster, burned the season and began watching it last week. After about 6 days I have almost finished the first season, with a bootleg version of season 2 on the way. Seriously this show is so addicting, im wondering why I didnt watch it sooner. I would recommend this show to anyone who wants to watch something this summer that is not crap. Lost is the real deal. Thanks for wasting my life, Soxtalk. seems like you are experiencing Lost the way it should be. One of the biggest complaints is that the show takes too many weeks between new episodes. viewers understand that the extensive production as well as location shooting sometimes makes it impossible to get a new show on the air every week but ABC has been getting slammed by the scheduling. Especially with scheduling like 2 new episodes followed by 5 reruns then 4 new then 5 repeats. Producers have said that in the next season they will have one block of 6 or 7 weeks of repeats in the middle of the season and all new shows straight through the 2nd half of season. It's already been a long wait for season 3!!!

I'm sure it's been discussed before at one point but in Couch's article today he mentioned Kotex-Boy being physically threatened in the Sox clubhouse. He didn't mention a year or anything but i was wondering who you all think would have done it????? I would love to have seen someone like Dan Pasqua wrap those big arms around Jay's head and squeeze it like a big zit. So....anyone know or hear anything on this??? could get interesting on the theories alone.

Piglet keeps Pooh off air TURKEY'S public television TRT, controlled by the Islamist-rooted government, has barred the popular Walt Disney cartoon Winnie the Pooh from air because it has a piglet as one of its main heroes, the Turkish press reported today. Several other cartoons featuring pigs also failed to win the green light from TRT management, according to the left-wing Cumhuriyet daily. The station initially considered scissoring the scenes showing Piglet, but abandoned the idea because the small pink-skinned character, one of Winnie the Pooh's closest friends, appeared too often, Cumhuriyet and the mass-circulation Sabah newspaper said. TRT officials were not immediately available for comment. Pigs are regarded as unclean by Muslims and Islam prohibits the consumption of pork. Winnie the Pooh has been aired on other television channels in Turkey and its videos are easily available at the stores. Employees have recently complained of increasing government intervention in TRT's broadcasting policy, including also the appointment of ruling party cronies to key posts at the institution, which runs several television and radio channels. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's Justice and Development Party, the offshoot of a now-banned Islamist movement, is under fire for seeking to raise the profile of Islam in mainly Muslim but strictly secular Turkey. :headshake

gee...you would think that in all of baseball history that Ozzie was the first manager to have a pitcher throw at someone. It's not like someone caught Ozzie on tape telling Tracey to 'hit him in the head". I guarantee you that if the Sox were in first with a 4 or 5 game lead that Kotex-boy would have written a article on how Ozzie is the type of manager to 'stick up for his guys'

Couple demands $1 million for damage to love life The Associated Press - ATLANTA A couple is suing Home Depot and the manufacturers of a grout sealing product for $111 million _ including a $1 million claim that the product destroyed their sex life. Jay Flynn of Lilburn, Ga., and his wife Laura, said that he became ill and was hospitalized for four days after using an allegedly defective batch of Tile Perfect Stand'N Seal Grout Sealer in July 2005. According to the lawsuit, doctors told Flynn his lungs were permanently damaged by fumes from the product, which left him with only half his normal breathing capacity. As a result, Flynn had to quit his job as a product manager and stop coaching his son's baseball team. In addition, his "once active" love life has suffered. The couple is seeking $100 million in punitive damages, $10 million for injuries and $1 million for harm to their love life. "We were still newlyweds when this happened," said Laura Flynn. "We had an extremely active love life. I mean every day. But now that is over." The suit claims that dozens of defective cans stayed on the shelves until September 2005, even after a national recall in August. A representative of Roanoke Companies Group, the Illinois-based manufacturer of the product, declined to comment on the pending case. :headshake :headshake In a statement, Atlanta-based Home Depot said it has cooperated with the Consumer Product Safety Commission "to ensure all appropriate actions had been taken to protect consumers," and added that "Roanoke Companies has been investigating reports of injuries sustained to users of Stand 'N Seal."

found this online ....... West Bank Family upset by Michigan Teen's No-Show JERICHO, West Bank (AP) -- Relatives of a West Bank man are distraught that his wedding to his American girlfriend is off at least for now. Katherine Lester slipped out of her mother's house in Gilford, Michigan, last week and boarded a flight to Israel. The mother of her prospective groom was waiting there to take her to Jericho. But U.S. authorities tracked down the 16-year-old high school honors students in Jordan, and forced her to go home. Lester has been in seclusion since returning late Friday. Lester had met 20-year-old Abdullah Jinzawi over the Internet. He paid for her plane ticket to the Mideast. He told WNEM that he's a wealthy businessman. His family still hopes to eventually bring the couple together. i think this chick would have disappeared and never be heard from again.

While at SIU in the late 80's and early 90's i got to meet a few 'famous' musicians. The coolest one( in my mind) was Tom Petty. He was setting up for his show and i saw him just walking around strumming his guitar watching his raod crew. Talked to him for about 30 minutes. Though he didn't take the hint i dropped about having no tickets for the show. also at SIU, he isn't a muscian but he was in concert....i was walking through the woods with my head down not watching where i was going when i ran into a HUGE guy who knocked me on my ass. i got up ant saw it was 3 HUGE guys and when i muttered an apology , Eddie Murphy poked his head out of the crowd and said "It's cool...you all right?" I got an autograph...it was cool.

QUOTE(thatballhitdeep @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 08:50 PM) i have a funny question for everybody. being the huge sox fan that I am, do you think it is sacreligious to wear a cubs hat to play softball in??? I have only worn it for 2 games and it already has a huge salty sweat ring around it and the white part on the front is turning yellow. the only reason i got the hat was so i wouldn't get a sox hat all gross. what do you think??? just curious, but when you put it on do you feel the over-whelming urge to pee in a trough and brag about attendance?????

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 07:16 PM) If they ever figure out who pulled that off, I think our engineering department here might admit them just for that one. After getting a flat on the way home, Chuck Norris roundhouse kicked his car all the way to Long Island!!!!

I played 2nd base through-out childhood 'career' due to a accurate arm but a decidely weak one. I was what we called a "defensive replacement" which as we all know is political correctness for "all glove no stick!!!" honestly..i loved playing defense (was that way in HS football as well). maybe because i was good at it.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 03:59 PM) He's only stolen like 3 bases this month, 0 in the last week. i didn't say he was doing his job (stealing,on base) , just he was hired to get on base not field.

My In-laws got one a year or two ago and it didn't take their dog long to learn to stay in the yard. They were really happy with it up until recently. If i understood my father-in-law right (like that will happen) i guess the guy who came out and installed the fence only put it 3 inches in the ground instead of 6 inches. After the week of rain wae got a month or two ago the fence doesn't work. Luckily for them the dog is already trained and doesn't know the wiser.
