Frank feels better, may not need minor-league rehab
TheBlackSox8 replied to Jabroni's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(greg775 @ May 9, 2005 -> 09:15 PM) What's Frank gonna do when he keeps fouling balls off his left instep like all hitters do? Do you think he's pretty much done? get a Barry Bonds esque padding of armor to put around it....I'm sure he can find something that will absorb more than 50% of a direct hit. -
That's a White Sox Wi....sorry force of habit

I take it as you got upset at a Sox loss.....as anyone would, and vented too much at the wrong time, in the wrong thread. No worries, just think before you type after a Sox loss. -
Yeah...i really nevermind a close loss.....as long as the teams behind us lose also.

i still like the fact that if the sox go even the rest of the way they have 96 wins....I think they can do at least that. -

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 8, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) In case you didn't know a players health is more important than some stupid game. If you had a shred of maturity you'd realize that. your right. Look what toronto got today, an injured player, and a gut wrenching loss where they got swept. Bad day to be a blue jay fan.. -
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 8, 2005 -> 03:22 PM) Today was closer than it should have been. Two bonehead errors by Marte and Ozzie's decision to yank Hermy made it waaaaay more exciting than it should have been.....but I'll take wins however they come. In our excitement to face the Os', let's not get cocky and complacent and overlook Tampa Bay. We need to shoot for another sweep, even taking 2 of 3 from them would be kinda dissapointing, you gotta get fat of the bad teams. Go Sox so by marte you mean uribe right..?

QUOTE(fathom @ May 8, 2005 -> 03:11 PM) Wow, all I was saying was that if Hermanson stayed in like we wanted, then who the hell knows what would have happened. Would that play have likely happened if Hermanson was still in? You never know. It's not like I'm blaming Marte for it happening. that's exactly what i thought you were saying.....i don't know how they confuse it with you blaming marte. -
They could go for another sweep by playing tampa bay

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 8, 2005 -> 11:55 AM) Colon's numbers surprise me a little, but he has been very solid thus far. I don't expect him to continue at the sub-3.00 ERA, but he could float around the 3.00's all year and it wouldn't surprise me at all. Probably their best starter. Washburn is pitching over his head, very much the same as Duque is. His WHIP of 1.41 is higher than than his WHIP of the past 3 years(1.17 in 02, his best year, and than 1.25 in 03, a year his ERA was in the 4.60 range, and 1.33 last year, when his ERA was in the 4.40 range). His ERA is very misleading thus far. I am saying right now that if he keeps on giving up that many baserunners that his ERA will rise, much the same as Duque's will too. Byrd and Lackey are about where I figured they'd be. Escobar has made 1 start thus far, and is probably a 12-15 win, 3.50-4.00 ERA, 1.10-1.20 WHIP guy...very underrated overall. I see 2 good starters and 3 mediocre starters...and while having 5 good starters is a very nice thing to have in getting to the playoffs, it has been proven that you tend to not win in the playoffs when that happens. He's made three starts, and has only given up 7 earned runs in 20.3 innings, and basically has a strikeout an inning at 19. Since he's come off the DL he's been solid. I like the Angles top three of Colon, Washburn, and Escobar. I don't think it's overrated, i haven't really heard as much hype from their rotation, as ours. I think they will fall to earth a little.....as will ours, but not enough to not get the job done like they have been doing.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 8, 2005 -> 10:32 AM) If we win 13 games over this stretch, we'll have a solid year???????? For starters, Texas has very little to no pitching, the Cubs entire team is in shambles, and the Angels, I feel, are rather overrated, especially in the rotation. Baltimore looks really solid thus far though, and that is the only series that scares the s*** out of me. This stretch, compared to like all of August, is nothing. Yeah...very overrated. scroll to bottom for pitching stats. I think they have an adequate Rotation, and Bullpen. They have three real good starters right now, and two mediocre. The Bullpen is helping them a lot, as is ours. If they are overrated in their rotation, what are the Sox's rotation?
