QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 28, 2013 -> 06:48 PM) Tree stand or ground? Ive actually never hunted while using a tree stand. Are there any advantages to it besides having the high ground and better view?

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jan 28, 2013 -> 05:53 PM) Where in southern Illinois are you talking about? http://www.heartlandoutdoors.com/forums/viewthread/1477/ The map that the guy posts is pretty accurate, the southernmost counties being hot spots for wild hogs. Since i live in Chicago, its a lot more convenient to go over to fulton county, specifically Spoon River.

QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 28, 2013 -> 12:46 PM) Yes. Which makes summers really nice. Archery? Shotgun? Rifle? Bare hands? The first time I went after one was on a guided archery trip. Damn, staring at 1 500+ boar with tusks from a flimsy ground level blind was a bit unnerving. Thinking all I may do is piss him off if the shot ain't right. Made my already unsteady bow shake. lol Great eating. Rifle, and yes great eating wild boar sloppy joe!

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jan 19, 2013 -> 06:49 PM) Wasn't there a study in the mid 1900's or somewhere around that time frame that gathered a bunch of normal people and made half of the officers and half of them inmates for a week both knowing that everyone involved was a willing participant and it lead to the group picked as guards to severely abusing the group picked as inmates. I want to say there was another study where people thought they were shocking someone on the other side of a window and it kept becoming a stronger shock up to the participant thinking they killed someone. I know those type of studies aren't allowed today in our country at least but it was pretty eye opening what a normal person is capable of when either given directions or given power. The Zimbardo prison experiment, great reference

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 16, 2013 -> 05:43 PM) I've never understood the fascination of calling plastic material flimsy or cheap. Yeah, sure, there are cheap and flimsy plastic phones out there. But when you start to get into the higher tiers of smartphone with plastic casings, they're using high quality and very light polycarbonate plastic. Go look at a phone like the HTC One X, the matte finish with its polycarbonate backing looks awesome and it feels nice in the hand. Everyone has their preferences, but some exaggerate the lack of build quality in phones with plastic casings. The phone i had before the iphone 5 was the Galaxy S2 and it felt "plasticky" and "flimsy" to me, especially after owning an iphone 4 before that one.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 16, 2013 -> 03:20 PM) We'll see. I've never really loved the cheap, plastic used in their phones. This one looks sexy and has excellent specs as well. same here. The thing i love about my iphone 5 is how well built it feels when its in your hand, its not just a plastic shell with a nice screen on it. But since im going back to android phones this year im looking to get my hands on that new sony phone you just showed. It looks like sex.

I love the harbaughs. Its amazing after all these years of lovie smith, to see coaches that actually gameplan for their opponents. Clay Matthews was non existant the entire game.

So the geeks that jailbreak iphones seem to have a very tough time jailbreaking the iphone 5, with this being apparent to me, I will undoubtedly be switching back to a phone with android. What is the next "hot" upcoming android phone, and when can i get my slimy pirate hands on it?

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 11:13 AM) So if it's not from thefts, where are gangs getting their guns? Because we should care about cutting down on that violence as well. Can I tell you one of the answers that I know with 100% certainty and see and hear little birds in the neighborhood mentioning quite frequently? Well, just think, if Mexico can smuggle hundreds and hundreds of living human beings and inanimate drugs across the border on a daily basis, weapons are just as easy to smuggle. Its like when I was in Iraq and we would constantly blow up gigantic weapons cache's on an almost daily basis, only to find that these guys have been outfitted yet again by a neighboring country within the week.
