  1. Now that our lineup is tentatively set for the 2006 season: Pods, Uribe, Thome, Konerko, Dye, Gooch, AJ, Anderson, Crede Other than the Yankees and probably Boston who do you guys think has a better offensive team? I say we are at least #3 or 4 in the AL.
  2. Should be interesting to see how Ozzie decides the order.
  3. my boy Jose C. will be just fine. Expext 16 wins and alot of K's out of him in '06. Having El-duque here last year only helped him become a comfortable member of the White Sox. Not that he's comfortable here in Chicago he figured it all out and became the Titan of Bronze once again. If I were Ozzie, i would consider Jose being the #2 starter to start the season.
  4. If one of our few ?'s is our 8th or 9th place hitter, i say were in goodshape. KW is extremley high on this guy. And by now we should have ALL learned to trust Kenny's instincts as a general manager. My prediction is: Anderson will start off the season slow, but he'll eventually get used to playing everday. He'll hit between .250-.260, hit aound 15 HRs, 15 SBs, and around 50-60 RBIs. Not bad for a rookie.
  5. Dye was a gamble worth taking on last offseason. He was coming off a serious leg injury. That is why we got him pretty cheap. Got to love KW and his bargains It sure as hell payed off. MVP! MVP! MVP!
  6. I think the first one was pure relief. If we win a 2nd one it would be sweeter. And once you FINALLY get a taste of it you become addicted to winning it all over again. (See Michael Jordan's Bulls of '92,'93,'96,'97 and '98)
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 06:05 PM) Assuming Anderson is in the lineup...he's supposedly hitting 8th. So Crede will be hitting 9th? That doesnt make sense to me. Anderson is faster, you would have a quick 9,1,2 in the lineup. Hmmm interesting...
  8. As of now the lineup is: Pods, Uribe, Thome, Konerko, Dye, Gooch, AJ, Crede, Anderson They will see how Uribe does in the 2 hole during ST. If he struggles in that role, expect to see Gooch right back there. Other than that everything else is set in stone.
  9. If they aren't selling opening day tickets to the public, how is it going to be sold out? I dont understand whats going with this?

  11. 1. Garcia game 4 of the W.S. 2. Garland game 3 of the ALCS 3. Buerhle game 2 of the ALCS 4. El-duque's miracle work in ALDS 5. Bobby Jenks all playoff long 6. Contreras game 1 of the ALDS Thats how I rankem!
  12. QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 07:33 PM) I wonder if Widger realizes how knowledgable Sox fans appreciate how much he contributed in '05. AJ's been getting a lot of the kudos, but Widger was a very important part of the team. I second that! The Widgenater is very valuable!
  13. Did any of you guys see that interview on CSN with Widger? They asked him about all the pitchers, he said he was excited because they are still sooo young or at the prime of there careers. They then asked him about the new aquisition in Vazquez and he said that he caught for him in Montreal for 3 years. They have a solid chemistry when they work together. He said he brings you pure power! He finished it off by saying "I expect a big year out of him in 2006" For those of you who were upset with the departure of Colon, this guy has similar stuff. A power pitcher who can give you innings. Hmmm thats strange. When Vazquez left Montreal he began to struggle, could leaving Widger have anything to do with it?!? This just tells you how awesome Widger can call a game and valuable a small name can be on a championship team.
  14. I hope they will all have cup holders for our beer It looks awesome, the green looks cozier for some reason. Looking forward to seeing the final product. But as you guys said before we wont be seeing much of those seats this year. Expecting all-time best attendance.
  15. Good its official. Hopefully that will stop any of the trade Jose Contreras talk. Believe me Bmac will play a HUGE role this year. Just because he isn't a starter doesn't mean he wont pitch often. This will not retard his development. If anything it will improve it, he will pitch during high intense moments of many games. And if anything to stretch him back out to become a starter he should just play some winter league after the season.
  16. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 10:12 PM) JC was not bad in the 1st half, but he wasn't good either. He was still walking way too many people and falling behind way too many others. In the 2nd half...he was getting ahead of people and batters had to fight him for walks. That was a huge difference...people had to swing against him, and when they try to swing against him...bad things happen to the batter. Yep JC has found it, and if he still has it, he'll easily win 18-20 games this year. Here is an interesting question: Who will have more strike-outs Contreras or Vazquez? That should be a close race.
  17. QUOTE(Felix @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 05:22 PM) No one is freaking out about Buehrle leaving. This entire thread is about SBIMI saying that Buehrle is better right now than Clemens, Santana, Prior, Halladay, and many other Cy Young winners etc. Buerhle might not be the most dominant in the league. But he is the most consistent.
  18. Why is everyone freaking out about Beurhle leaving. He is here for at least 2 more seasons. He has a player option for 2007 in which he will take. Lets start worrying about this after the 2006 season. If we keep winning I dont see why Buerhle will leave. Mark Mulder grew up a Sox fan, does that mean he will end up here after the '07 season? I doubt it. If there is 1 guy KW will cough up a lot of money to keep, Buerhle is the guy.
  19. This deal makes sense for McCarthy's situation. But we dont need Floyd. I like that Milledge kid but to agree with Dick Allen, this doesn't help us in 2006. KW plans for the 'now'. And right now KW wants security in the pitching department. McCarthy will be in the bulpen, like it or not. Contreras is an 'Ox'. I hate to see him leave.
  20. As a baseball 'romantic fan' I would say if either Thome and Pauly go down to an injury and the A's are out of contention, I can see KW bringing the big man back. But as a baseball realist fan I know Frank will never be on the Sox again. He had a great career and he truly is "Mr. White Sox". I hope he does well in Oakland as it should be a tight race between Seattle, Oakland and the Angels in 2006. Hey it could be worse, at least he is not on the Twins where we would have to face him 18 times!
  21. Unfortanately the tickets for soxfest sold out quicker than ever. I've gone to the last 2 Soxfests and am dissappointed that I wont be there this time around. (esspecially since we just won the title) Those of you attendees please give daily recaps of the festivitees, esspecially during the Q&A session w/ KW, OG, DJ and HH. That is by far the best part of Soxfest. I wish I was going
  22. Its funny how he always mentioned that he loved playing in Chicago as a visitor and loves Chicago baseball. He kind of left the fact out that he was a Cub fan growing up. Haha its cool, at least he admitted that earlier. Welcome big Jim! Welcome to the South Side! The champion brand of Chicago baseball
  23. Yea, Howry is a dumb ass. Career years my ass. Nobody on our team hit over .300. And I love how he always refers to us being bad fans because 'we never attend the games' Damn is this guy jealous or what?!? Maddux #1? LOL, Zambrano is a #2, Wood is a # 10, and Prior would be there #1 if he can stay healthy. And who is there 5th starter? Jerome Williams? Hahaha yea he's a #1 pitcher. Hey Howry, there is a reason you were demoted to a setup man while you were here with us: You can never get the job done WHEN IT COUNTS!! I guess that is why you are now a sCrub.
  24. the Sox love hirering old players. They hired DJ (ex Sox OFer), now Chris (ex Sox OFer). I always liked Chris, he played a big role in that 2000 AL Central Champion team. I'm sure Chris will fit in just fine.
