With the way we have been playing on the road and vs the Cubs lately, its HUGE to win 2 out of 3 vs the Dodgers and come back home and win 2 out of 3 vs the Cubs. If we cant accomplish those 2 things, yea i will officially say this team is in big trouble. But right now, were still up in 1st and its not even July yet, still pleanty of time to right the wrongs, but than i guess there is pleanty of games to suck like we did this week end.....

Other than Danks, all of our pitching has been garbage all series... Granit they cant carry you all year round, but our bullpen has looked like the '07's version. The Cubs probably are the best NL team, but we can play them better than this!! It better look different next weekend.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 08:18 PM) If we pegged Aramis in the right spot, I would consider this series a great success. might as well hit him now.... got nothing to lose at this point... lets see a brawl!
-
Ughh.... nothing is worse than to losing to these guys. But the bigger is pretty bad. 9 straight road loses?? Gross.
-
they stranded waaaay to many runners... it should have been at LEAST 6-1 going into the 7th... Oh well. Have to get them tommorow. The worst is now dealing with the drunkin Cub fans tonight.....

Right now the Cubs are a little down by that Rays sweep... Lets push em while there down.... Calling all Sox, Calling all Sox... time to beat the crap out of the Cubs!! SHould be a hell of a series... Lets hope Danksy goes 7 strong and we can finally hit Lilly, i think our offense is finally starting to turn it around vs Lefties.... -
Lilly is a decent pitcher... but so is Danks. Just ask Tampa how good Danksy is while your still out there I expect us to get off to a great start tommorow....and i expect Danksy to cruise... I wonder what the lineup will be? Probably: Cabrera AJ Quentin Dye Swisher Crede Ramirez Anderson Danks Pinch hitters/runners: Thome, Hall, Wise, Ozuna, Uribe

Sox have most to gain in City Series

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 04:28 PM) "At just about any point during the previous 11 seasons, the White Sox-Cubs interleague series were a fun diversion for fans and not much more. But this year? Everything is different. With both teams leading their divisions -- and they're guaranteed to be in first come Game 1 on Friday -- the games have taken on new meaning." I'm pretty sure both teams were in 1st at least one other year going into the series. Am I wrong? Im pretty sure its the first time. If we can win 2 games in Wrigley it would be a HUGE boost to our team. The Cubs are (as of right now) the best team in baseball. I know it disgusts me to say that, but it is the case. That article was a little far fetched, but we do have something to prove here. The Sox are ALSO in 1st place and the way the media has been talking, it seems like they are in last. I hope for the Sox fans sake, they stick it to the Cubs and shut the media up... IMO the only thing this team needs to win the division is a true leadoff hitter, if KW aqcuires that, i think we will be just as good (or even better) than the Cubs.... Go get em KennY! -
Mets Fire Randolph, Manuel Named Interim

Remember those commercials with Manuel? "I dont care who you are... the A's, Yankees, Red Sox, Minnesota, when you come to our ballpark you better come ready to play" Hahaha wow. -

Dewayne Wise is up Paul Konerko to the DL
GreatScott82 replied to quickman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Sorry if i missed it but does anybody have Wise's farm stats? I really wanted Owens to come up... Oh well, maybe he is still hurting. Were not going to miss the current Konerko.. Maybe he'll be better when he's 100%. Im guessing we will be seeing Alexie in CF , Uribe at 2b, and Swisher at 1b the next few weeks, unless KW somehow suprises us and makes a trade (i doubt that.) -
Who would you add to the 25 man roster

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2008 -> 04:14 PM) Is Willy Taveras's .239 batting average or .294 OBP something that Jerry Owens couldn't better? (He did better them last year) I know his #s really aren't that attractive (Other than his 30 SBs) But he is a much cheaper leadoff option. Believe me, i would much rather have Roberts, but that wont happen. Unless KW parts with Danks or Floyd of course.... -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2008 -> 04:33 PM) Trade for Brian Roberts, and move Ramirez to CF. I like that plan. But there is no way we give up one of our young starters. Maybe KW can make a strong push for a guy like Willy Tavarez again? It doesnt look like Colorodo is going anywhere this year. -

GreatScott82 replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I have to go with my boy Jerry Owens! I know he isn't doing the best this year down in the farm, but maybe bringing him up here can rejuvinate himself and the lineup. I agree with Stoney, this team is too 1-dimensional. Yea we lead the league in Home Runs, but if we dont hit the homerun we often lose. We are 0-27 in games when trailing in the 8th inning. Maybe alittle bit of speed can help that disgusting stat. -
QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 14, 2008 -> 09:15 PM) I realize we need to add another bat, but where? We have unmovable contracts at 1B and DH, Swish, Cabrera, Crede, Ramirez, and Pierzynski aren't going anywhere. I also think Dye doesn't go anywhere? What to do? With pretty much every position filled up, the only thing i can think of is trade one of our position players OR release Thome (which wont happen). But if KW did trade or release Thome, that can open up an OF slot as Swish can platoon with Dye and Konerko for the RF, 1B and DH possitions on a daily basis. Than KW can go ahead and bring in Tavarez But like i said Thome wont be released. The team is what it is and will likely finish the season with what they have, which sucks because IMO they need that true lead off hitter.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 09:05 PM) This doesn't surprise me at all. A lefty OF bat with speed, who can grind at the top of the order? This is what the Sox have been looking for. That is currently the missing piece of our puzzle... Is Lofton the right guy? I dunno.... but we certaintly need to start looking for a guy like that.
-
I just dont see KW trading Uribe. If an injury occurs to Cabrera or Ramirez than all that leaves is Ozuna. Richar is still recovering slowly down in the minors... its good to have depth on the bench, especially on the defensive end. Uribe and Anderson are amazing defensive replacements. I think the only thing this team needs now is a bat off the bench and if somehow we can aqcuire a 'true' leadoff hitter than we'll be set. But as Hawk would say "where would he play?" I guess we just dont have room for a true leadoff hitter.
-
Okay time to explode off Verlander tonight... hopefully Javy goes 7 strong, lets not give the kitties any sort of momentum. So far we are 5-2 vs Detroit, 7-2 would look hella nice coming back home from this mini-road trip!

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) Wow, Count got clobbered. Didn't see the game; is it just a one game thing or was he back to his indecisive self? He pitches so much better (for last many starts) when he works quicker and confidently. Oh well he certainly deserves an off night. We're not going to run away with the division. Ain't gonna happen. Should be a fun year if we keep hitting and if the bullpen keeps doing its job. He didnt have his fork ball working for him tonight which is key to his success, he just didnt have it tonight, but the defense really didnt play that spectacular either, if AJ catches JDs peg at the plate that saves a run. A couple of bobbles from Swish and O-Cab also today. But they clearly had the oppurtunities to score more runs, Quentin was thrown out at the plate and O-Cab got caught stealing 2nd when had a terrible jump. Its only 1 loss. Lets rebound and get them tommorow, i'll take 1 win from Detroit.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 06:37 PM) Plenty of time left obviously but this just doesn't feel like it's our game. yea it does feel that way... lets hope we scratch one or two here in the 7th.
-
C'mon Jose, get out of this as is!
-
The National Weather Sevice has issued a White Sox warning to the Twins.... They are predicting runs to keep scoring at a high rate... PLEASE seek shelter immediatley! Haha in all seriousness... the offense needs to give Danksy some more run support...
-
G Floyd time!! Lets keep this thing moving peeps! Another 2 from Joe Crede? Can Swish continue to swing the bat better? Will Alexie keep moving his average up?!? DAMN RAIN!! haha.
-
Buerhle needs a W... dont stop hitting the ball now...
-
