  1. People/reporters want athletes to speak the truth. Well even if what he said was well...... with the amount of crap he is being given the new answer to everything will be no comment. If people want honest answers from these guys you cant villify them if their beliefs arent popular.
  2. yeah who is that band, i could of swore there was a youtube of them getting kelly clarkson and someone else up on stage too.
  3. Zambrano was getting a lil cy young hype for awhile last year so I dont understand how its bull...
  4. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Feb 14, 2007 -> 08:56 PM) You can't measure baserunning in statistics. You watch the games. Like defense. Santana is not the only one to ever do it. He is the first that came to mind. He is not good at what Pods does best and Pods is not even close to as good at what Carlos does best. That said, Carlos is not the ballplayer you think he is or the one that he is paid to be. He is a solid hitter and that is it. A guy that can hit around the .300 mark and hit 30 plus bombs with 2 years left on his contract is worth a lot more than you are making it out to be. Not 2 mention he can even steal a base or 2 when need be. Argueing over it now is almost pointless but the fact is there had to be better deals out there and I don't and probably will never understand why KW settled for so little.
  5. Idonno, I know Jurors are apposed to consider the law when they are ruling guilty or not guilty. But if it was me, I would have a hard time being convinced to send someone to jail for having sex with a girl one year younger than him.
  6. I think everyone needs to relax and wait to see what this core can actually do in the playoffs. Now I know we been in the playoffs the past 2 years but, the first time was a whole different team with EC/Chandler and we were missing 2 starters going into that playoffs, so its not really fair. Than last year we gave the Heat, who just happened to win the whole damn thing, the biggest fight in the entire playoffs too.
  7. that is insane that she could go to jail for popups. I have no respect for the prosecuting lawyer or the jury in this case at all.
  8. I dont mind the Garcia trade, would of been nice if we could of got 1 more piece but the organization thinks highly of the 2 arms we got so ill stick with them, i was going on about the carlos lee trade.... who I personally loved
  9. I don't know how anyone can say the Carlos Lee trade was a good one. We could of gotten Pods/Vizcaino and atleast a pretty damn good prospect for him. And it would still be a "salary dump" Just because it was a salary dump doesn't mean you cant get more value than what we did get. And I'm fairly positive there were a bunch of deals out there that were better than what we got out of it. That being said, we did win the WS so even though it wasn't a good trade, that kind of takes any sting someone could have from it away.
  10. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 14, 2007 -> 12:53 AM) I think Jon Daniels has shown though, if he'll pay for a guy it'll be a starting pitcher. And they could unload Teixeira who's a Bora$$ client to help free up the salary to make a play for Carlos Zambrano. The crazy thing when you look at stuff like this, is a year ago a 5 year $60M deal for Kevin Millwood looked pretty damn stupid. Now it doesn't look so bad when the likes of Lilly and Meche are getting $10-$11M a season. They are dumb for letting go of Adrian Gonzalez so easily. Could of traded Tex for a very good package of players and not missed a beat. There was a reason Gonzalez was a 1st overall draft pick.
  11. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 10:43 PM) And since Benson pulled one of those: "I f***ed up so im gonna pretend im injured" The bears went away from the game plan of pounding the ball. Which put even more pressure on Grossman. please tell me you arent serious with this
  12. The Red Sox have the talent to win the division for sure, but they also have a lot of ?'s. How effective is their bp going to be especially closer. How will Papelbon fair in a starters role for an entire season. How effective is Matsuski or however you spell it going to be. Can JD Drew be healthy the whole season?....they have the talent but they have a lot of ?'s too.
  13. he means, if you don't pick the redsox to win the AL East it means you don't have a clue what your talking about. And i'm just sorta kind of giving red&white a tough time because its somewhat true.
  14. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 04:39 AM) People have wanted me castrated for saying that in the past, so the sanity in your thought process is appreciated. Not really, people admit that Joe is middle of the pack offensively, but also he is still one of the better defensive 3B's which helps up his value to a lot of people here too.
  15. I dont think this will be our last year at all to compete. Maybe last year with most of the core from the WS team to compete, but I think we will be very competitive for a long time, and maybe... depending on what happens next off-season 1 down year but than right back up after that.
  16. It is a pretty bold statement, but maybe that also goes to show how underated Fields seems to be around here.
  17. Probably a large part of it had to do with losing both coordinators.
  18. im only 4000 away, give it a week or two.
  19. QUOTE(iWiN4PreP @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 02:41 PM) I saw this the other day and LOVED it. Great stuff, thank you. haha congrats for having the most annoying poker player in your avatar besides Helmuth
  20. Yeah to me no real big difference between WCIU and CSN both are pretty crappy stations. I know it screws a lot of you out of towners but I almost like WCIU moreso than CSN.
  21. QUOTE(Reddy @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 02:22 AM) is it just me or does that article have a ridiculous slant to it... by the way, she said PARALLEL, not the same. this is the media twisting s*** as usual. big deal, she has issues with the US government - big deal, so do i, lots of people do. PARALLEL does not equal THE SAME. on another note actors - at least good ones - actually have to be very intelligent and there was nothing in that interview to suggest to me that she is otherwise. You used my name as the quote even though I did not say any of that, ill never forget this
  22. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 11, 2007 -> 06:48 AM) I know Moore got chastised for some of his moves, e.g signing Meche at $11M per and trading for Gload, but the signs are there for a revival for that franchise over the next few seasons. Rotation wise they're lookin pretty decent as you've said. And Moore wants good young power pitchers. Tyler Lumsden is a guy you could be seeing for the Royals in the not so distant future. Sweeney's $11M contract comes off the books at the end of the season. Gordon and Butler should be pernament fixtures from 2008, and maybe Justin Huber could actually get a shot for a change. Yeah Butler from all Ive heard is a very good bat and we all know about Gordon. The Royals are on the way up give or take 2-3 more seasons.
  23. QUOTE(FlaCWS @ Feb 11, 2007 -> 03:50 AM) Excellent analysis... however, one name you left out is Zach Greinke. If he can come back and build on what he did in '04, the Royals could be a lot better than people think. I realize it's a big IF, and I still expect KC to finish last, but if you factor in a healthy Greinke, their rotation suddenly looks decent. I kind of think the Royals will be much improved this season. It has to happen one of these years... Yeah I think Greinke can come back and can be a solid starter too. Also, Luke Hudson had some fantastic starts towards the 2nd half of the season, especially against us. Their rotation can actually be a solid one of all goes right. Meche and Perez both pitch to their capabilities, Hudson shows that his few dominant starts werent all fluky, Greinke returns and than they will eventually get Elearton back who is a solid back end of a rotation guy.
  24. I was a boy scout for like 2 years, and during that time I never got passed tenderfoot but the camping was fun.
  25. I think the Indians have the best rotation easily. But then again, Sabathia seems somewhat injury prone or maybe im just basing off last year but they need him healthy. I like Verlander/Bonderman in the Tigers rotation but I think Rogers is going to have a pretty dismal season and never been a big fan of Robertson. Although I like Maroth at the back end of the rotation.
