QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Feb 10, 2007 -> 06:45 AM) COMPLETE freedom is anarchy. And yes, she was saying that the USA is as bad as Cuba. Although I agree with you on the online poker stuff. well complete freedom yes, but damnit they shouldnt have the power to take away my poker! And it shouldnt be a law for a driver to wear a seatbelt, its fine for kids but damnit I should be able to choose freely whether I want to wear a seatbelt or not without worrying about getting a ticket.

When I watch her in movies I don't care how dumb she is as long as she can act. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it. Also I don't think she was saying that the USA is as bad as Cuba, just that it's not like in the US you have complete freedom either. Like the stupid government trying to take away my online poker!

QUOTE(zenryan @ Feb 10, 2007 -> 03:04 AM) it's a shame the NCAA wont do anything to USC. the NCAA likes to protect teams like USC and Ohio Sate. Wasnt Ohio States basketball program suspended or something just not 2 long ago?

I got a total of 4 votes for biggest pessimist, and 3 of them are not by me! Maybe next season I can go the distance for sure -
Id definitely take the heat any day of the week. I got my mini fans I can take with me and there is always the concept of sitting in the shade. I think both my cats would prefer the heat too ;p

on PTI atleast they said the accusations are worthless without any evidence to back it up.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Feb 8, 2007 -> 03:32 AM) It's funny that that number has fallen from a 30 HR guy to a 25 HR guy to 15-25 HR. Well thats me assuming, I dont know the exact number and I havent seen Sweeney besides in spring training and his short stint last season. Im assuming your mostly the same, so its hard to make judgement. But I do know all scouts think that power will come and im going to stick to that.
-
QUOTE(danman31 @ Feb 8, 2007 -> 02:26 AM) I think Sweeney will become a solid contact hitter, but will never develop power. Sweeney hasn't shown power at any level while Young showed power at high A and AA. Young also has hit for higher averages than Sweeney. Im going to go with what scouts say and pencil Sweeney into the 15-25 HR mark consistently if he reaches his potential. This season will definitely be interesting with him, first time ever repeating.

Peyton did seem like he was kind of whiny and b****ing about teamates during the game, but overall he is a classy guy and I couldnt actually hear the words coming out of his mouth so i dont know.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 10:59 PM) Initially, it's slow, but after that, it's fantastic. Dick in a box

QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Feb 7, 2007 -> 02:31 AM) Figured I would post this here since I need some help too. Right now I am living and working in Schaumburg. However, I am pretty bored lately and looking to move. I would like to move somewhere closer to Chicago or into the city itself. I have looked at a variety of places and need suggestions. Anybody? bored of Schaumburg? cmon its like a mini city in itself

I think Jimbo atleast in threads involving college sports is basicly ignored now. Its ok to be a "hater" but when you take it to the extreme he goes it starts to become pointless and is mostly ignored.

To be fair Grossman was 20 for 28, and that one interception had a lot more to do with weather than it did with him. Grossman wasnt what Id call pretty by any means but I spread the blame to a lot more others on the team than just him.

the 2 main Illini fans are Wharris and Krush..... besides those 2 nobody really followed Illini football enough to be say anything about it. So if your not calling out either of those 2 who exactly are you calling out?

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 12:48 AM) Exactly, right now most teams are about 10 days from Spring Training, rosters are being finalized and GMs are shifting to in house scouting, figuring out how they're going to for their 25 man roster through the 40+ players they have with them in Florida/Arizona. You really don't see many significant trades during ST historically, it just doesn't happen. Alex Cintron Thats me being sarcastic btw

I guess im alone, but the one I found most funny is the car commercial where the one Machine has a dream that he gets let go and at the end is about to jump off a bridge and than wakes up.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 31, 2007 -> 02:51 AM) Ian Stewart, sure. Mike Lowell's a free agent after this season, so they'd just be moving to Atkins over a year early. The point of the matter is, whats in it for them in recieving Lowell.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 1, 2007 -> 02:59 AM) Rick Helling is good because he won 20 games. I mean, winning is all that matters right? isnt it? I think some people dont value the win stat enough on this message board. They just look at every other stat and say "oh the wins dont matter look at these other stats" at the end of the day what matters more than any other stat is that W. Im not saying it tells you everything but I rather have a win than a bunch of fancy stats.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Feb 1, 2007 -> 01:06 AM) Why are the Bears the home team? Better record? it switches leagues every year.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Feb 1, 2007 -> 04:16 AM) I have to disagree with this. Teams were challenging Dye at every chance they got last year. His arm is strong, it's just he doesn't charge the ball at all. you must of been watching a different sox than than the rest of us.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 30, 2007 -> 10:29 PM) Sometimes I wonder if Figgins isn't the right option now that Pods is down. We know what we could get out of Figgins and while I don't want to see Figgins in center, he could be a backup option if Erstad is hurt and Anderson sucks while at the same time be a primary option for left field (where he would be an above average defensive left fielder) all while at the same time giving the Sox some stability at the top of the order (and yes he is coming off a down year, but this guy is a better hitter than he was in 06 and he is truly one of the best/most lethal base runners in the game. I would not be opposed to offering up the right package to the Angels for Figgins with him playing LF . Let BA/Erstad battle it out for time in CF and if both suck/fail after the first month you can move Figgins to CF and find a LF (either give Fields/Sweeney a quick chance) or make a trade or really shake things up and by this time Pods will be ready and go with a speedy 1/2 part of the lineup and move Guchi to a power spot in the lineup (or even do something like Figgins 9, Pods 1 or vice versa, Guchi 2 which means the 2nd and 3rd times through the lineup you have almost an extra leadoff hitter. Id love a deal to the Angels involving Figgins/Aybar being sent to us, even if we have to lose Crede to do so.
