  1. dont the rockies have a 3B who just had a very productive season, chucky atkins or something.
  2. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 30, 2007 -> 02:17 PM) How many guys have played that never had a great year, now how many have had one then none. I believe the never hads are a longer list than the have one and only one. That's how I was thinking of it. Plus all the guys that never have a chance at the MLB level, that peak at A, AA, or AAA. So having that first one is a lot harder than the second. The second one, you've already been there and done that. You have some experience, confidence, etc. Eh, you have a point, but there are a lot of guys who have 1 and than never again. And I'm looking at players who actually have the talent to produce big seasons at the mlb level not the guys who project to be backups(Timo Perez etc.) And usually if a guy has the talent and is given time to succeed at a mlb level he will atleast produce one solid season. In Crede's case he was given 3 1/2 seasons or so before he produced any results. Hell, you can look at last season and look at Gary Mathews jr... it took him about 6 but than he produced a very good season. Or than there is Corey Patterson he had a very solid season that was shortened by injury but than what has he done since than, or Matt Lawton who has been in the league for how many years and really has only produced one great season. Or how about Orlando Cabrera, besides 03 he hasnt really been a productive hitter The key here is im looking at guys who have the talent to be very good and because of that talent are given long lengths of time to show it and if given enough seasons that will usually result in atleast 1 really good season aka the career year.
  3. lol, hate to bring it to you but in terms of how mmorpg's go, there is no game you can lvl faster in than WoW. Basicly only play when you have rested xp and just do instances/quests the whole time and you should be lvling asap atleast until the 50's.
  4. Wow he would look good in Portland with Randolph. Not 2 mention when healthy Roy has shown he is a force already. And with the lack of really good scoring C's I wouldn't be worried about the defense at all
  5. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 30, 2007 -> 12:37 PM) In that case he's really ahead of Fields who hasn't shown it once. And showing it the first time is harder than showing it the second. At some point in being a fan I stopped worrying about who and just am grateful there are two guys that can play the position. How do you figure? Bad players have career years all the time and than after that they go back to their annual crappiness. And Fields hasn't had a chance to show it, like I said I don't really think Fields is a better hitter right now than Crede is, just I'm not sure if Crede is the hitter everyone thinks/wants him to be either.
  6. Yeah, Gasol is tall enough for a C, but When I watch the Grizzlies he looks more like a PF to me, and even though he is taller than Wallace id assume he would be a PF for us too. And, if you compare him to the PF's in this league he isn't in that elite group. He is a damn good player I'm not doubting that, but he isn't worth what the asking price is.
  7. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 30, 2007 -> 06:58 AM) Not going to answer for Wite, because I'm sure he has an answer different than mine, since there are many to this question, but if Fields was in fact close to being a .280-.320-.800 type player, than the Sox would have found a spot for him on the 2006 roster. Im not even sure if Crede is that hitter, Im a big Crede fan and last year he was great for us, but I want to see it again b4 im a true believer.
  8. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 30, 2007 -> 06:39 AM) It's simply not even close to true. Im not saying that it is, but exactly how many Charlotte games did you attend to be able to say this statement?

    Vista

My friend who works at staples, spent his whole working day checking out the Vista and told me that it was verrry nice. I never bought XP always leeched off a friend when i reformatted, but now I think ill finally shell out the cash and buy vista in the near future.
  10. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 29, 2007 -> 04:45 AM) I saw it, it was clear enough, regardless of whether the convseration was dead serious, which it wasn't. But he said it very clearly, and he should man up and buy the guy a ticket. Why? If your a diehard bears fan and want to go to a game that bad stop being a little asshole and buy the tickets yourself. Especially since both that guy and Harris looked drunk on that show. Players have no obligations to complete strangers/fans besides to play their absolute best on the field..
  11. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 27, 2007 -> 02:19 PM) Oh yeah? That's so weird, because I heard a similar story from Bridgeport.... This morning a Bridgeport, Illinois kindergarten teacher explains to her class that she is an Chicago Bears fan. She asks her students to raise their hands if they are Bears fans, too. Not really knowing what a Bears fan was, but wanting to be liked by their teacher, their hands flew into the air. There is, however, one exception. Susie has not gone along with the crowd. The teacher asks her why she has decided to be different. "Because I'm not a Bears fan" she reports. "Then," asks the teacher, "what are you?" "I'm an Indianapolis Colts fan," boasts the little girl. The teacher asks Susie why she is a Colts fan. "Well, my Dad and Mom are Bears fans, so I'm a Colts fan, too" she responds. "That's no reason," the teacher says. "What if your mom was a moron, and your dad was an idiot. What would you be then?" Susie smiles and says, "Then I'd be a Bears fan." Go Colts!!! Lol, that joke is overused by everyone.... although first time I heard it was referenced to the Cubs.
  12. I actually almost like this team moreso without him than I do with him.
  13. Like pretty much other people said, I believe in 2nd chances to a degree but when you kill a child there should be none. And if there was it shouldnt of been for another 20 years at the very least.
  14. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 26, 2007 -> 05:23 AM) i just like to ruffle up some feathers. but a positive is always nice. Not most hated poster, most hated college sports thread poster maybe.
  15. I think most people focus on the bad coverage job their CB did on that series and the fact he was benched afterwards.
  16. QUOTE(beautox @ Jan 24, 2007 -> 11:53 PM) i agree with santo=dorf if Zambrano came over to the AL he would get destroyed ala Beckett. noo way, he would take a little time to adjust of not having an easy out in the lineup but after that I think he would definitely be one of the top pitchers in the league.
  17. it also said he should be back during spring training....
  18. Idonno how someone who isn't a diehard patriots fan or a fan of a team in the Colts division can really hate them. I hate their dome because I hate all domes but the Colts team is all classy not really 1 bad apple on it, the only one they had was cut for a better kicker. Also every single fanbase is full of obnoxious fans, especially on gameday. Even the St. Louis Cardinals, "Classiest fans in sports" have a s***load of obnoxious fans.
  19. Id do that trade if Im the Falcons, their backup has showed he is capable and with those kind of weapons to throw too, not to mention a top pick in the draft how can you not like that.
  20. Im going to go pickup my Jonathon St. Clair jersey tommorow

    PS3

yeah I heard that metal gear solid rumor of going to 360, but i havent been able to find any real solid information about them going to 360. In the end im fairly positive it will be a ps3 only game and looking at the like 10 minute trailer I have of it... will be amazing.
  22. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jan 22, 2007 -> 10:05 PM) What's mind boggling to me is that some Bears fans are extremely concerned with what Bill Belichick is doing when there team just made it to the Super Bowl and won the NFC. It made me proud to live in Chicago to see what seemed like half the crowd raise there arms in the air and do the safety sign in yesterdays game. People were aware, people knew it. I find it hard to believe that these educated, respectable Bears fans woke up this morning, rolled out of bed, and got all pissy about the way Bill Belichick walked off the field. The Cubs board is only a click away, Irish. Bear fans in general couldn't careless about Belichick right now. But people on this site are more than just fans of one team they are fans of the NFL in general and the Patriots being one of the best teams in recent years they are going to be in the spotlight. And its pretty clear on video and numerous times this season Belichick has looked like an asshat. Every other coach in the NFL would of shook Manning's hand right there but since Belichick didnt its because his emotions were high? I guarantee 100% Manning would of been out there shaking Brady/Belichick's hand if the Pats won and same thing with Dungy. Nobody is doubting the fact he is a great coach, definitely can make a very solid case even the best head coach in all of sports right now, but give it a rest trying to defend him for his lack of class. Its pretty simple... he is an asshole, get over it.
  23. If we do a deal with Gasol, id want our draft pick to be a big part of it. I dont even really want to give up Gordon but not a chance in hell you even consider losing both Gordon and Deng.
  24. He definitely deserves a starting gig next season, but the question is what do we do with one of Brown/Ogunleye to make room for him.
