QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 3, 2007 -> 04:50 PM) MY GOD. Same play, Tyrus comes out on top on both plays. my fav TT http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_rIi_ee2XY...ted&search= As cool as that was, It looked like it was a goal tending and than a charge, but still looked great. -
QUOTE(zimne piwo @ Apr 3, 2007 -> 06:06 AM) Too bad Bill Murray couldn't keep reliving April Fool's Day, that would have been a riot! nah, you got to appreciate the groundhog

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 3, 2007 -> 05:58 AM) Well, with another job off the table, the chances of Crean going elsewhere decreases, which is good news... I have to wonder who number two is on Kentucky's list. Or, if Donovan DOES go to KU, who's number two on Florida's list. Sorry for straying from the topic, but when can we expect a 'decision' from Donovan? I very much doubt Donovan goes to Kentucky, and if he does I think its a mistake in his part. This is all assuming Florida is willing to pay him what he is worth.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 01:00 AM) I dunno, depends on how you define hot seat and what it would take for him to be removed at the end of 08. I mean, it's entirely possible that Skiles could have the Bulls win 50 this year, draw the Heat with D-Wade and Shaq in round 1 and lose in 7 games, and just generally be screwed out by the seeding. I dont care how many regular season wins we get, if we dont advance past the 1st round next season has to be do or die for Skiles. -

If we dont advance out of the first round he has to be on the hot seat for next year. -

Which Tribe players would actually start for us?
GoodAsGould replied to scenario's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 31, 2007 -> 06:43 PM) There is no way you can take Lee over Buerhle, just on one bad half season. You just can't do it. I was actually moreso comparing Lee to Garland, because assuming health im assuming Lee would of been the 2nd starter. Even so, id consider choosing him over Buerhle just because I am a big Lee fan. -

QUOTE(scenario @ Mar 31, 2007 -> 04:13 PM) Which Tribe players would actually start for us? I'm not talking long term. I'm not talking multi-year 'potential'. I'm talking about 2007. If you mixed the two rosters, who would win the starting positions? Position Players First, compare the position players for the two starting lineups... Consider both offensive and defensive contributions. Konerko vs. Blake Iguchi vs. Barfield Uribe vs. Peralta Crede vs. Marte AJ vs. Martinez Pods vs. Dellucci Erstad vs. Grady Dye vs. Trot Nixon Thome vs. Hafner Starting Pitchers (the way they're slotted in the rotation) And who would you take in each of these matchups? Contreras vs. CC Garland vs. Westbrook Buerhle vs. Lee Vazquez vs. Byrd Danks vs. Sowers Barfield, Peralta, Martinez, Dellucci, Grady, Hafner, CC, Lee, and Sowers -
QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Mar 31, 2007 -> 03:36 PM) It just goes to show that a win is a win, no matter when it comes. The only thing that matters is the final record, not when those wins are accumulated. A win in April is just a valuable as a win in late September, you just don't know it yet. The 2005 White Sox even break the mold on the whole "getting hot at the end of the regular season" thing. Because of 1 example is what your going off? Yes a win is a win but a loss in april can be made up, not the same story in september. Obviously if you dig yourself in a hole too much that last month isnt going to matter but yeah...
-
QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Mar 31, 2007 -> 01:50 PM) Not if you build a commanding lead early on, like the 2005 White Sox. even so the whitesox were so close in giving up that lead, and in this division with the quality of teams... nobody should have a lead like that.
-
QUOTE(RME JICO @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 12:04 AM) That is not a dumb argument. Teams get to the playoffs on their overall record. A win is a win. A loss is a loss. The Cardinals? That is your example? They played in the worst division in baseball and almost didn't make the playoffs. No, there is no way to stay focused for the entire 162 games (that is why they give players days off), but saying games in April "don't count" is just stupid. Obviously he didn't mean that games in April don't count, he is just pointing out that games in September are more important. Now I know your going to just reply with a win is still a win no matter what month its in or some crap like that but, if you have a bad start in April you still have 5 months to make up for it. If you have a bad month in September your done. So being first in division/wildcard for the first 5 months of the season really isn't all that important if you lose it in the 6th and final month.

Doesnt he have another top recruiting class coming in? If i'm Florida i'm paying him as much as it takes to keep him. With the coaches they have in basketball/football they can be a powerhouse in both sports for a long time to come.
-
when is this official list coming out?
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 09:07 PM) There is a huge difference in the level of play between Briggs and Holdman. They aren't even close as players. And Colvin has been damn good with the Patriots when healthy. Playing next to Urlacher sure hasn't turned Hillenmeyer into anything even close to resembling a pro bowler. But it has turned him into a solid 3rd LB after being cut by the Packers who at the time only had 1 legit LB.

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Mar 29, 2007 -> 09:10 PM) What is so funny about that muffin video? I thought it was just so stupid. Am I alone? Im with you, ill go as far as saying the poster who linked that vid should be suspended

If Valido can stay healthy, i can see him just exploding this season. It would nice to see both him and Getz leading off for Charlotte sometime this year.
-
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 05:57 AM) Which OFs, aside from Cunningham, do you believe have a chance for promotion? we have a pair of brazilians one being anderson gomes and cant remember the other ones name who from all i have heard are oozing with talent even with the lack of production they put forth last season. Than I could of swore there was someone else, not Sanchez, that could have a good season.
-
The infield could be pretty good, Getz and Valido should both be potent hitters at the top of the lineup and Micah Schurstein or however you spell it should hit the ball fairly well in that park too. And we have a couple OF's that have a chance to get promoted sometime this season that would add some pop to that lineup. In the meantime the rotation should keep things interesting for them.
-
obviously our major league team is just trying to boost the morale of our AA team.
-
im assuming Gonzalez, Honel, Whisler, Russel, and Egbert
-
Im not feeling overly optimistic about this club but I felt the same about the 2005 club. We can still be a very good team if the pitching works out so ill hold off judgement on the team until a month or 2.
