  2. well i live in the suburbs of chicago so i dont really care where they go
  3. well i dont know why some of those names our on it but i voted for Crawford because he is probably going to get on base more than Podsenick.... I would of voted for Ichiro but with so many big bats behind him he probably wont need to steal as much.
  4. well i dont think his era is going to be in the 4's.... his arm injury wasnt like rauch where it totally ruined his fastball id expect Honel to have an era in the 3's if it is 4.5 that would be a little dissapointing to me... i guess in the minors era isnt as important as it is in the majors but still.
  5. although i like this Illini team pro sports just mean more to me
  6. id like to nominate Zack Greinkie's curveball as one of the hardest pitches to hit... test that baby out its huge.
  7. im still playing my first season dont know if i want Munoz as my closer or Crain. Both young and they both are pretty good.
  8. yeah it wasnt a real arm injury from what i can tell and he is still young so i have high hopes for Honel.... it would be awesome having him and B-Mac in our rotation in a couple of years.... and cheap
  9. yeah i use that site 2 its pretty good... my login there is Deng101 but i dont post too often. oddly enough qwerty told me about it in an earlier thread about Frank Williams going to be traded to Detroit.... 2 bad it never happened and we could have smushie parker
  10. well Oliver Perez might win 12 games and Odalis 8 but other than that i see 142 losses
  11. i finally after about 20 drafts and starting multiple seasons repeatedly getting bored with my team ive created one thats young cheap and i really enjoy. C: Joe Mauer 1B: Mark Texiera 2B: Rickie Weeks SS: BJ Upton 3B: David Wright LF: Carl Crawford CF: Coco Crisp(just like his name) RF: Willy Mo Pena Starting Rotation: 1: Jake Peavy 2: Oliver Perez 3: Zack Greinkie 4: Sean Burnett 5: Edwin Jackson Bench: Charles Thomas Sandy Alomar jr Brian Roberts Joe Crede Nick Swisher Bullpen: Frankie Francisco Arnie Munoz Jessie Crain that japanese Otsuna guy i think from padres Brandon League prob a couple bullpen guys that right now i cant think of but thats the core.
  12. what evr happened to the chat room or whatevr? people still use that or not till regular season starts?
  13. bleh, packers fan :puke and didnt they just take a CB last year..... their whole defense is :puke and if Favre doesnt come back their offense is :banghead
  14. this owner mode is not making any sense to me.... my highest paid player is like Beckett.... SP:Jake Peavy SP:Oliver Perez SP:Carlos Zambrano SP:Rich Harden SP:Josh Beckett young very cheap pitching staff than hitting wise i got Victor Martinez who still makes 300,000 and Crawford than a bunch of other young guys like mourneu and top 100 prospect people i purchases one concession stand and than 2 advertising things and im somehow still losing money even though most players on my team make 300,000.....
  15. in the playoffs didnt the red sox move cabrera and put bellhorn or whatevr in the 2 hole during the yankee series sorry anthrax but without Manny and Ortiz while red sox still a good team they dont make playoffs... wildcard would of went to the AL West.
  16. nah back when the bandwagon fans were at a force when bulls first started winning these threads came up a day in advance... than it cooled down some even though we been solid ever since...
  17. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 05:36 AM) if you're in owner mode, it's actually smarter for you to keep those prospects because you'll lose money(even if you win a WS) right away. You have to wait until you build up your stadium at least a little bit before going out and trading for all the big name guys. You'll see what I'm talking about. yeah your right im 5 million in debt now time to start over
  18. i picked other.... id like us to trade down for 2 first rounders include a guy like Michael Haynes if need be or something and than draft the OL guy and Clayton the WR. Its my opinion with the last guy solidifying our OL and Clayton being a speedster if i remember correct along with Moose our offense will be good enough to score a bit and most importantly not put all the pressure on our defense which is dominant if not on a last ranked offense.
  19. nice attitude and all but isnt worth prob 8-12 million he will get in a contract. horrible 2003 year and look at his road splits in 2004...... unless he hits consistently good on both road and home i have to say HE GAWN next year.
  20. yeah yeah yeah i made a mistake :banghead he is good in the game regardless although his fastball only reached 88, but it makes Edwin Jackson's 99 mph fastball seem that much faster my next game :finger
  21. wow a lot of hate up in here... anyways Terry Shea was at least a top 5 playbook in difficulty in learning at least agree on that? And while Chad Hutchinson isnt starter material id think he is a pretty decent backup as good as most in the league...with a few exceptions. Also im pretty sure Kurt Warner was only 5-4 and gimme a break if you think those wins were because of him... it was mostly Tiki Barber having a career year and strong defensive play that went down the s***hole after we injured both their DE's Also if you thought Chad Hutchinson was brutal to watch, try seeing Warner behind an OL like ours every week and you will :puke Finally on the Rex Grossman thing, since both his injuries were non related from one another i think as of now he should be given the benefit of the doubt that he isnt injury prone.... but if he gets injured again this year it might be time to look at USC in the draft next year.
  22. take out Manny and Ortiz and the red sox dont make the playoffs but you dont buy injuries right
  23. Because he isnt that good .... i was kind of hoping we would keep DT sign TJ Houshmandezeh and than draft Derrick Johnson.... our offensive line isnt great but i dont think its as bad as everyone makes it out to be either.
  24. just did a draft on owners mode... and let me tell you top 100 prospect guys can give you good trade value only way i was able to create my team C: Victor Martinez 1B: Albert Pujols 2B: Michael Young SS: Carlos Guillen 3B: Texiera(used prospects to get) LF: Carl Crawford CF: Carlos Beltran(used prospects) RF: Lance Berkman(traded for with prospects) SP:Roy Halladay(traded Kazmir and some minor guy for him) SP:Sean Burnett(young guy who is really impressive) SP:Edwin Jackson(Traded for one of the previous guys and than traded back for him) SP:Kip Wells(still wish we kept him) SP:Omar Daal(never heard of him but some good stuff for a fifth starter) Bullpen aint to great but full of young dudes like Chad Cordero, Frankie Francisco, Saloman Torres, Mike Gonzalez, Arnie Munoz.. couple others i think Francis Beltran.
