  1. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 04:31 PM) LMAO.. Reporter: "Hey Frank.. think you'll DH full time when you come back?" Frank: "Sure" Reporter: "What should Carl do?" Frank: "Play the outfield...." Guess he could have said "send his ass packing". Selfish, IMO, is the last thing it was. It was a matter of fact opinion.. An opinion I wholeheartedly agree with Frank on....Especially if Dye keeps hitting below .200....
  2. "When Frank gets back, 2 people are going to be out of a job. Someone is off the 25 man roster and Carl or Dye or whomever become part time players." Um, Frank has accomplished much more than Carl or Jermaine ever have so tough s*** for the one who sits out for Frank....Besides, Dye's not hitting the cover off the ball right now and he can easily come in as a defensive replacement for Everett in the later innings.... "I think the general opinion is that when Frank gets back he's the everyday starter at DH" Yes, Frank should be the everyday starter at DH once he's ready....His previous track record (.300 BA, 40 HRs, 100 RBIs, 100 walks when healthy) dictates that Ozzie should be penciling him in at the 3 spot....The argument here is Ozzie should not have said what he did yesterday about Frank needing to be more of a team player because Oz said that last yr and Frank did just that! Ozzie didn't need to say it twice :finger
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 12:18 PM) Four words for Ozzie, which I guess he still can't translate, SHUT THE f*** UP! Agreed, these boobs in the media should be asking Ozzie why he's still bothered by Frank Thomas being the undisputed icon of the White Sox....Ozzie, Frank was and still is a better player than you EVER were, GET USED TO IT! When Frank's ready to go, there is no hard decision to make here, either Carl or Jermaine sits....I firmly believe when Frank comes back, this team will take off....I don't understand why the manager can't see that :banghead
  4. I say switch Dye with Rowand....At least Aaron's putting the ball into play and Dye isn't doing much of anything right now....If Dye's still hitting below .200 when Frank's ready, drop Dye outta the lineup and put Carl out in RF....I know Jermaine's hit a couple of clutch HRs but the 5 hitter can't keep going 0 - 4....Whatcha guys think?
  5. If the Sox do wind up losing this game, Ozzie better say to the team "My bad", especially to Vizcaino....Now I don't mean Oz should be fired or anything like that but he tried to be too cute today and he should take accountability....
  6. I predict Juan will go yard....He's hit the ball hard in all his trips this game!
  7. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 09:04 PM) I wish we would have left Hermanson in there. Agreed, Ozzie's first mistake of the season....Hermanson should have stayed out there for the 9th and kept Shingo fresh for the Twins' series :banghead
  8. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 06:56 PM) I'm not even going to dignify this asshole by reading this hack job. We're on the verge of a sweep and this cock biter is running his mouth. When his flubbies can take their hands away from their throats and play some baseball then he can come talk to me. :fyou Moronatti! Agreed! It's so obvious this guy has it in for JR and the Sox organization that the Sun-Times shouldn't let him cover the Sox :headshake
  9. Jose looks relaxed and is throwing so easy out there, it's fun watching him pitch and if you're a Cleveland Indian, you can't leave Chicago fast enuff!

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 01:52 AM) I think it's exaggerated due to the amount of ST broadcasts we get this season. There's only so much you can talk about during those games. Agreed, Spring Training games really are tough to watch in their entirety, let alone broadcast them....I luuuuuuv Hawk because it's fun hearing a Sox fan broadcast Sox games
  11. "Mark Buehrle should be appreciated at least as much as less successful pitchers around baseball and around town." If Mark still starts on Opening Day, I will be in Section 160 giving him a standing ovation when he starts his warmups
  12. He was much worse in ST last yr and he came out like gangbusters in '04 so I'm not worried about Shingo....The trick with Mr Zero is to ONLY pitch him one inning....Do not bring him into the 8th EVER! Bring him into the 9th as the longer he stays out there, the more hitters can adjust to the various speeds he throws with....He's a one inning closer, no more, no less....
  13. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 17, 2005 -> 10:41 PM) Big Mac is so guilty. Holy s***, answer a question you piece of crap. And yet another figure I can give: Mark McGwire = 100% guilty of taking steriods
  14. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 17, 2005 -> 10:15 PM) After taking another shot at Jose... He's an ass. After listening to Curt Schilling, I can come up with at least one figure: Curt Schilling = 100% Blowhole! :finger
  15. The Score has just reported Frank has been cleared by his docs and will report to camp on Monday! Looks like we'll have the Big Hurt in the lineup maybe as soon as mid to late April! Awww, yeah!
  16. I've been a partial season ticket holder in the bleachers for the last 3 yrs and the '05 season will be my last I'm tired of being punished by the Sox for only going to weekend games as I can't stand the "premium" prices for Sat and Sun games....I have a job to go to during the week and I cannot make weekday games.... No thanks
  17. HEHEHE....Only on SoxTalk can I see avatars of Contreras hugging Fidel, Shingo huggin Southpaw and a poll rigged Chicago style Anyways, Opening Day will be a great test for the Sox' new style of play as Buehrle and CC won't be giving up too many runs....I'd be shocked if the game becomes a rout!
  18. I had to vote for "c'mon Timo!" because I was at the game and jumping up and down like an 8yr old as Timo was rounding the bases....I didn't hear the call until Sportscenter replayed Hawk's entire call....At that point, I was on the floor laughing hysterically Great call to a great game that day! Can't wait till April 3
  19. That's the one thing I don't understand about Maggs' position in all this....He says he wants Vlad $$$ but doesn't he realize he's not even close to being a Vlad type player?!? Vlad's an All Star, MVP, superstar player....Maggs is a rock solid player but worthy of Vlad $$$?!? I don't think so!
  20. Crappy story....Bored writer trying to make something outta nothing....Keith's pitching well now, good for him....Wish he did that for the Sox in 2000 playoffs, against the Twins in '01, Yankees 02' (Think Giambi's ball is still traveling)....If the story was focusing on KW's successes and failures, no prob....The Foulke trade was his worst....OK fine....If the storyline is about the success of Keith Foulke in the 04' playoffs (and I think it was), keep it that way....Don't make it a revisionist history piece on Sox trades :fyou
  21. If the rumor is true, it's a great hire for the Sox! If Tim can't teach Willie how to steal, nobody can and the Sox can finally dump this experiment....I've never seen a guy so scared to steal a base like Willie Harris....What's the point of speed if he's afraid to use it?!? And with Raines, maybe he can teach the team how to bunt!
  22. I heard on the pregame show that Matt Lawton thought the Indians were a better team than our White Sox....Hmmmm, 14 - 0 wipeout and his team only got two hits the whole night....Me thinks Lawton is just a loud mouth pud! :finger Way to go Mark and I hope this is the start of a nice long winning streak
  23. For some reason, there's something about the Tigers that has me worried....Maybe it stems from last yr when the Tigers beat Esteban 1 - 0 twice last yr and went 8 - 11 against the Sox....This yr, they've been putting up a ton of runs so it wouldn't surprise me if those games look like Nintendo scores....I just have this bad feeling that they match up well against us and be like the Twins of 02 when the Sox couldn't figure them out Can someone tell me I'm just making a mountain out of a molehill or that I'm smoking some really good crack?
  24. Until Uribe learns some plate discipline (Stop swinging at high cheese and the junk pitch low and away), that average will keep going down....Learn to take some pitches (A #2 hitter should know this already) and rip the 2 - 0 pitch....
