  1. QUOTE(zach61 @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 11:00 PM) It's not the contract that I dislike him for. It's the fact that he went to the Rangers for the money and then complains about not winning and saying he never just went there for the money. If the Rangers fit his needs and it was for the money, then why was he whining after a few yrs? He went where he wanted and got what he wanted and then changed his mind and the yanks were able to bail him out. At the very least, he should have come out and said he went to the highest bidder instead of blowing smoke up our asses and then expect us to feel sorry for him cause the rangers sucked. Exactly my reasons for my hate of A-Rod....Guy's a great baseball player but don't say you want to win then go to whoever offered the most $$$ and then complain you're not winning and completely ignore the fact it's because of your contract to why your team is not winning....
  2. "I think defense, for the most part, being a balanced player and also saving a lot of runs on the defensive side, I think was a major factor here," Rodriguez said. "To me, defense is foremost. It's always been. The White Sox showed us this year pitching and defense wins to this day." I hate the guy and his slime of an agent Bora$$ but no doubt, he is a great player and showed some respect to our World Champs!
  3. Heard on the Score they offered somewhere between 4yrs/48 to 50 million....That's a little higher than Sexson got from the Mariners so the Sox certainly aren't short changing Paulie....I don't see how the Angels can afford Vlad, Manny (If that trade goes through) and Konerko since that team doesn't make nearly as much from their attendance as they could since Angel Stadium is 30 yrs old and doesn't have suites....
  4. I wouldn't put any stock into the Gold Glove Crap....This award lost all its credibility when Palmeiro won it only playing 30 games....The award's pure sham!
  5. I went to both ALDS, Gm 2 of ALCS and Gm 2 of the WS and here's my top 5: 5) Frank throwing out the 1st pitch before ALDS Gm 1 4) Iguchi's 3 run HR off Shrek (AKA Wells) in Gm 2 of ALDS 3) Crede's double in Gm 2 to tie the ALCS 2) Paulie's grand slam in Gm 2 of the WS. The roar and celebration of the crowd was absolutely thunderous and is something I will never forget in my life. 1) Pod's walkoff HR in Gm 2 of the WS. The pure joy and "shock" that Pods just hit a HR to win a World Series game still leads me to shake my head in disbelief whenever I think about it! Plus, everyone not wanting to leave so they could sing Thunderstuck and Go-Go White Sox added to the effect Honorable mention goes to when the crowd serenaded Clement in Gm 1 with the Na-na, Hey, Hey after he was taken out....That was amazing hearing 40K Sox fans SCREAM that song at him
  6. Maybe they'll hand out replicas on Opening Day, kinda like the Wolves did a few yrs back! That would be cool!
  7. After hearing Frank's interview, if he's not here next yr, I would shed more tears for that than if the White Sox win tonight....Frank was very candid, saying he's been here through thick and thin and he admitted he was wrong for some of the things he said....He said he'll be the team's biggest cheerleader tonight (No argument there Hurt!) and should the Sox finish off the Astros tonight, I hope he's the first player that hoists the World Series trophy....Call me a wuss but the waterworks will be flowing if I see that picture tonight!
  8. CHICAGO -- The American League Champion Chicago White Sox have announced that World Series Games 4 and 5, being played Wednesday, October 26 and Thursday, October 27 in Houston, can be viewed by fans at the United Center, the home of the Chicago Bulls and Blackhawks. Tickets for the World Series viewing party are $15, with proceeds being split equally among the official charities of the White Sox, Blackhawks and Bulls. Both games begin at 7:30 p.m. CDT, and gates to the United Center will open at 6:30. Seating will be general admission. The event will feature the White Sox famous opening introductions, scoreboard video montages and all of the promotions fans would experience at a White Sox home game. It will be the closest thing to being at U.S. Cellular Field. "The World Series is the pinnacle of this exciting White Sox baseball season, and we knew our fans would want to watch the games together in an energized stadium atmosphere," said White Sox vice president of marketing Brooks Boyer. "We anticipate the possibility of inclement weather, so we were thrilled to work out a partnership with the Blackhawks and Bulls that ultimately will end up supporting worthwhile causes. We think our fans will feel good about that." Trying to convince the wife to go as I think this would be fun....Plus, I heard the UC's scoreboard is brand new too....
  9. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 06:12 PM) motherf***er. I worry that scalpers might have gotten a lot of these banking on big attendance if the sox win it all. Oh well, there are nfl playoffs going on that I now won't have to miss You know who I'm going to blame? The answer may shock you: Me and nobody else. You know why? Cuz they've been onsale since Sept 26th and my dumbass should have gotten them then. Yet, I'm not angry nor am I going to write a nasty letter to the Sox about it either. Ya know why? Cuz the White Sox are playing in the World Series and that is all I've ever wanted

  11. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 03:32 AM) When MLB tells me that because they control the tickets and the way they are sold and that I can not buy what I want because they said so... that's a good reason for me to believe them. During the season the Sox sell me whatever I want, as many as I want, to whatever games I want. It's crystal clear to me who controlled the post season tickets. Steff, give it up and don't bother explaining common sense or facts to these people since they're under the delusion they're entitled to World Series tickets because they're DIE HARD Sox fans....One thing I've learned over the yrs is there's no pleasing some of our fellow Sox fans EVER! :banghead
  12. Pick your poison: Houston has excellent starting pitching and is tough at home while St. Louis has the best hitter in baseball, good starters and a catcher that can shutdown Pods.... I'll choose St. Louis as I'd like to see the best team from each league duke it out in the World Series....
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 02:18 PM) Heres the thing- Brokers who buy all those tickets dont know anything about sox fans. They know about chicago fans, and their spending in the playoffs. This is mostly based on the demand and price paid in 2003 for cubs tickets. They dont realize that sox fans are not as stupid as cubs fans and feel that watching the game at home is better than dropping 1K on the worst seat in the house. They will come to an abrupt conclusion on friday when they arent selling their overpriced tickets. They will troll the parking lots looking for people who need extras. They will sell for less than half of what they were asking. Sox fans determine the market-not the brokers. Right on! I hope by Sat, these bastards will be out a s***load of $$$....$3000 for an upper deck?!? Piss off....
  14. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 07:41 PM) Yeah, they're safe. They are in my building...and they are a bunch of assholes. ***clarifying*** I am not endorsing them at all. Just saying that yes, if you buy from them, you will get your crap. They are nothing more than a legalized ring of crooks working through loopholes. They should NEVER be supported. I agree with they never should be supported but they exist because people do pay those ridiculous prices so what can you do?
  15. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 05:29 PM) That's why the lottery makes sense. You still may have a snowball's chance, but it levels the playing field. Swing and a miss on tix here, btw. Surprised? Like a broker wouldn't hire 100 people to get in line for the lottery either....
  16. QUOTE(3E8 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 05:26 PM) If you were a season ticket holder for the 2005 season, what is the minimum-game ticket plan that guaranteed you World Series tickets? The 13 game Ozzie plan only got 1st Round tix but a 27 game ticket plan would guarantee you one World Series game....
  17. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 05:22 PM) Astros = lottery Cardinals = lottery Sox = piss everyone off Even if they did a lottery, people would complain about that as well....
  18. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 05:19 PM) This is going to be brought up at Soxfest. Overshadowing a White Sox World Series Victory....TICKETBASTARD!!!!!!!!!!! This is NOT the White Sox' fault....This isn't even Ticketmaster's fault....Too much demand and not enuff supply....That's all it is so please, don't bring this up at the Seminars at Sox Fest cuz they won't be able to help or offer advice....
  19. Oh well, I tried....I'll just chant Let 's to my TV!
  20. QUOTE(mrzo2733 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 05:04 AM) No, f*** that. I can be pissed off if I want to. When the people who have been supporting the team and going to the games all year can't go to the f***ing playoff games it sucks. And don't tell me otherwise. Sorry if I had the "audacity" to think I might be able to actually not have to pay a premium for tickets I thought I in a way "deserved." It boggles my mind that someone has the "audacity" to say that I had the "audacity" to think I had a chance of getting tickets. You can be pissed off if you don't get any but you can't tell me you actually have a good shot at getting tix....I'll be trying but if I don't get any, I'm not going to be bitter towards Ticketmaster or send emails to Brooks Boyer complaining about it since the demand will outweigh the supply....And I used audacity because some posters last week felt they were entitled to ALCS tix just because they're fans and used a computer :banghead Hope those that score tix get to use them!
  21. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 09:49 PM) I think 1 in 10 is a bit over optimistic. You're right, way too much....As you can tell, I'm very bad at math!
  22. Will Call ticket orders that are not picked up by 9:00 p.m. Friday, October 21 will be cancelled and the amount charged to the customer's credit card will be refunded. The World Series will begin on Saturday, October 22. Based on some of the numbers I heard about the ALCS tix sale, please remember you roughly have a 1 in 100000 chance in getting some so don't b**** if you don't get any....And don't send emails to the White Sox either, they don't control that....And the most important thing to remember: YOU'RE NOT THE ONLY ONE GOING FOR THEM! I apologize if my post sounds crass but after reading some of the posts about the ALCS, it seems that people actually had the audacity to think they were gonna score some and that's simply not the case....
  23. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 08:58 PM) Who said she was a Sox fan? After seeing that pic, she can sing at Comiskey anytime
  24. Voted no cuz I want to spend the $$$ on something with the word "World" on it! Like Kenny and Paulie have been saying, the division and the sweep in the ALDS is nice but we want more....So do I and I hope the fans have the same expectation....
