  1. After being at the game and then watching the Comcast broadcast this morning, I feel horrible for the Sox fans at home cuz it didn't come close to what it was like at the park....The video montages were simply outstanding, the crowd noise was like when Paulie hit the slam in Gm 2 and the banners were just perfect....Comcast should apologize for that Tee Ball effort :headshake
  2. Nothing would please me more than seeing Thome hit a bomb off Sabathia Sunday night!

    Pods

I have no problem with Pablo Ozuna leading off in LF Sunday night so Pods can be 100%....Granted, I would have loved to have seen Pods get his cheers when he stepped to the dish Sun night but Pablo had a crucial stolen base in Gm 2 of the ALCS and you gotta love how he always goes with the pitch to RF for base hits....
  4. Thome might hit 30 HRs at Comiskey alone if he keeps shooting HRs down that '330 LF line
  5. In their primes, Frank 100%. Right now, Thome. Two fractures on a weight bearing joint doesn't bode well for him and the A's. Down the line, if Frank stays healthy though, the Sox may a tough opponent in the ALCS waiting for them
  6. Without question, yes. You will be able to see the scoreboard and the flags from there. The Upper Deck corners were designed so that everyone could see the scoreboard as that was the one rub of Old Comiskey I had. I used to sit in the OF grandstand there and couldn't see the board because of the upper deck overhang. I've sat everywhere in New Comiskey and up until 3 yrs ago, there wasn't an obstructed view anywhere. Now with the posts in the upper deck (Cuz people b****ed about the Upper Deck being so high) and the fan deck, there's obstructed view seats. :headshake
  7. 105 - 57 is what I see happening given 100% health. And with the bench they have compared to last yr's, they should be able to finish off sweeps when Ozzie gives the regulars a day off!
  8. All I know is the Sunday lineup keeps looking better and better....Let's see the options Ozzie has now if he wants to give the regulars a day off: 1) Mackowiak LF/CF/RF for either Pods,Anderson or Dye 2) Cintron 2B/SS for either Gooch or Uribe 3) Ozuna 3B/LF for either Crede or Pods and of course: Widger for AJ behind the plate. I likey
  9. I'll worry about the hitting the last week of spring training but the starters have looked OK so far so that's encouraging
  10. I voted for Pods too, that HR was a magical moment considering the Astros overcame Paulie's Grand Slam....
  11. QUOTE(CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 08:33 PM) So let me get this straight you police your company's internet access but around World Series time you policed everyone but yourself. So even though company time is to be used for company business that policy is enforced by you for everyone but you. Seems to me that this is akin to a police officer busting a dude for selling drugs then turning around and selling them himself. Absolute power corrupts absolutely and yet many here applaud you. It's no wonder we distrust those in power because once we find ourselves in a position of power we often times abuse it also. When the shoe is on the other foot and we have something to gain personally all morals and ethics we claim to have are betrayed. If this amusing act is seen as an abuse of power, I highly condone it!
  12. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 04:38 PM) Security Geek fun at my work. One of my responsiblities at work is to control the content filters and general internet access. I basically police our people so they dont surf porn and stuff. Well last year I watched as hundreds of people at one of our chicago locations started trying to hit the internet all at the same time. They were all lined up in the virtual waiting room to get tickets. I of course was trying to get the Sox series tickets and figured if I picked off some of my competition I could have a better chance. So I disabled their access. This year I added some more sport to the event as I would let them live in the virtual waiting room, but would block the actual ticket purchase. I have figured out the URL when they win a ticket, and have listed that as pornography. We have had numerous calls about some "business related" website from our cubby co workers. LOL We should all buy you beers at the games you go to because this is priceless!
  13. 70+ stolen bases from Pods will = 100+ runs scored with Juan and Thome coming up! Gotta love that potential!
  14. I won't mind seeing the "Sunday Lineup" of '06....Beats the hell outta the '05 one!
  15. I voted for #2 but mine would be: Buehrle (Does very well vs Indians) Contreras (Same) Garcia (Open to debate if Ven goes far in WBC) Garland (Move him up if Freddy isn't ready) Vazquez (If he's not ready for WBC, McCarthy gets the nod) Freddy was good in the day games so I'd still go with him in Gm 3 vs Cle....
  16. I kinda wished Ozzie didn't apologize for what he said. I loved the humor in his statements but then again, some people don't have a sense of humor. And kudos to Ozzie for not taking up Urbina's "offer" to off the guy that killed his friend. He had much more restraint that I would have showed and done.
  17. 1) Crede's defensive gems in Gm 1 of the World Series 2) Uribe's last 3 defensive plays in Gm 4 of the World Series 3) Posednik's catch against the wall on Orlando Cabrera's well hit ball in Gm 2 of the ALCS. If Pods doesn't make that catch, Sox are down going into the 9th.
  18. If the Sox win the World Series again, they will own this town into '07 and beyond. And in terms of expectations for '06, I can say without question that I have none. That World Series triumph was really enough to placate me for the rest of my life. If they stumble out of the gate or if they lose in the playoffs, I don't think it'll hurt as much as it did in prior yrs since they finally won a World Series, ya know?
  19. QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 07:33 PM) I wonder if Widger realizes how knowledgable Sox fans appreciate how much he contributed in '05. AJ's been getting a lot of the kudos, but Widger was a very important part of the team. Widge is my fav softball player playing baseball
  20. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 08:02 PM) 75,000 unobstructed view, front row, lower deck seats that are always sold out, green of course, with 16 new sets of bathrooms included so that there aren't any lines. Oh yeah, and half price nights, every night. Plus they need to go 173-0... at least. Even then, the Sox would hear complaints, I have no doubts about that. And with the food, Polish with grilled onions and a cold beer is good enough for me!
  21. I should have stated why I mentioned the White Sox can't please all White Sox fans so I'll try to do that now. After hearing all the crap in Oct about the availability of playoff tix(Which was caused by the shrinking of the Upper Deck by 6000+ seats, which was brought on by fans griping), I really have no patience towards peoples' criticism of Comiskey or of the club's ticketing policy considering how much the organization has put into the park over the last 4 years and of how hard the marketing staff (Particularly Brooks Boyer) has worked to make the club more fan friendly. All I keep reading now, even after the Team has just won the friggin' World Series, is why can't they make all the seats green, why aren't there more lower deck seats for games, why aren't there more seats for Opening Night, the Upper Deck still sucks (Which it doesn't and never did till the row chop in which you now have obstructed views with the poles and less tickets for fans). It's like, what else do the Sox hafta to do to please? :banghead
  22. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 04:51 PM) Its not as good as sitting on the lower level. Proof positive the White Sox can't nor should they try to please everyone :headshake
