QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 06:49 PM) He had an 8 run lead and he's trying to save the pen. You'd think Jon could hold it. Exactly what it is. Garland just couldn't put them away when he did have the advantage in the count. If Garland doesn't do well in his next start vs KC on Tuesday, time to seriously consider swapping him with Brandon. -

"ts just all of their pitchers had career years last year... not to mention they won so many games off of flukes... They also won close to 1/2 their games by 1 or 2 runs. It was rediculous how much luck they had... this year we can see whether last year was a fluke or not.... I dont expect them to do better than 5-6 games over .500 this year..." Not really good comments as much as it's plain jealousy to me from Tiger fans :finger -

Start warming up McCarthy, Garland's serving up some batting practice. -
Hate to say it but Joe's not going to win it with Alex Rodriguez and Eric Chavez at the same position....

Alright Pods! Attaboy! Double to open up the game!
-
Imagine this team when Pods is hitting, man oh man Solid win all around, enjoy the day off boys!

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 06:36 PM) Hopefully with some time his PBP won't be this bad. He just needs to get more fluid, stop pausing/repeating himself, and that's somethign that will come with practice. He's talking for the sake of talking, using too many words when two would do just fine. He's pausing at the wrong time and has absolutely no rhythm calling the game. If I didn't love the White Sox, I'd of hung myself in my cube by now. :headshake

Forget giving Singleton a chance cuz he plains sucks. Thanks to his awful call, I had no idea Crede hit the ball, let alone a line drive, let alone it had a chance to go, let alone it did go out.

Sox v. Kansas City, 4/7/06, Garland v. Affeldt

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 02:10 AM) Away...away....away. I fear what happens to this team in close games this season. Exactly my thought, why the hell do they keep pitching away? JUst fire that fastball in on the hands, hitters won't like that on a cold night! -

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 02:07 AM) I think Garland pitched well early, but gave up some rockets. I also think that Widger has called a pretty s***ty game. This should be a reality check for anyone who thought we were going to dominate like last year. That was a once in a lifetime start. I don't agree about Widge, he's calling the right thing but Garland was missing right out over the plate. -

If I'm KC, I'd leave Wood in there as the Sox keep chasing the down & in sinker of his as well This sucks.... -
The World Series title changed everything for me. I used to get so upset when they lost games in previous yrs my fiancee wanted no part of me but now? They lose two games and I'm simply not angry anymore. It's like I know they'll get 'em tomorrow and the team quotes from yesterday's tough loss indicate that. Like Ozzie's: "We're fine. They fought all the way to the end." And yes, nobody can say JR is cheap or blame him anymore for the team's previous failures as it's pretty apparent he took it as hard as we did.

I like the ring, very simple but I love the Boston ring more with the square design than the egg That Marlins ring is awful....
-
Don't blame the Sox, blame the Score for not paying Rooney and paying that douchebag North a cent, let alone the 7 figures

QUOTE(boltsrus @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 09:01 PM) THE BOX SCORE AT ESPN.COM SEEMS TO INDICATE A FEW EMPTY SEATS. Stadium: U.S. Cellular Field, Chicago, IL Attendance: 38,802 (95.5% full) Game Time: 2:59 Temperature: 57 degrees, cloudy Wind: 15 mph That attendance figure does NOT include the comp tickets the Sox gave out for Opening Night so ESPN is wrong, again

QUOTE(Whitewashed in '05 @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 09:11 PM) Oh yeah I forgot...how the f*** did we let Aaron Boone kill us? Yeah, Farmer mentioned he's a first ball fastball swinger so the Sox pitchers didn't do a good job with Boone....

Have a really good day, Jim!
-
C'mon Pods, get a little something started here!
-
Sox go 1-2-3....Oh well, in a 162 game schedule, your team does get its ass kicked and hopefully, this is one of the few times it happens
-
From what I'm reading, Freddy's velocity isn't there. I thought he threw at least 93 on the fastball and if he's throwing 88, Cleveland's gonna be fighting at that bat rack today

Sox Players Will Wear Their Series Rings Proudly

Glad the Sox turned down the skyline ring proposal....Personally, I'd want the Sox logo on it encrusted in diamonds -
QUOTE(Al Lopez's Ghost @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 02:57 PM) How do we complain to Comcast? Maybe they could do a make-good if they knew how many people feel they screwed up. I'm sure the Sox would provide the video to them. That's the one thing that bothers me about Comcast....Didn't they or shouldn't they have known beforehand what the Sox plans' were gonna be for the Banner ceremony if they were going to carry live? I knew after watching the divisional montage when they were gonna drop the curtain on the following banners, couldn't a TV director/producer have figured that out as well?!?
