I wonder if Ozzie's going to try something different next Fri when they face Santana again. Start Pods, AJ cuz the last 3 times vs Johan, stacking righties hasn't worked.

Official Game Thread 8/16 - KC vs Sox 7:05
Allsox replied to Controlled Chaos's topic in 2006 Season in Review
Talk about giving away a game even before it started. I think even the players said oh crap when they read the lineup card tonight. Then again, Jose normally isn't this pathetic And someone tell me why 24 yr old Brian Anderson needed a break tonight?!? -
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 02:36 AM) I was suprised as well. Isnt the price just doubled or something from the regular season? How does it work? MLB sets the prices for the playoff games but also hog the prime seats for their sponsors during the World Series so the White Sox hafta to get stuff like this going early.
-
Don't care who wins, I just wanna see each game go extra innings so both of their pitching staffs get depleted in time for Texas and the Yankees to tee off on both of them this weekend
-
I Brian Anderson

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 14, 2006 -> 03:26 PM) Because of the capacity, that is going to be nearly impossible to get. Official capacity of Comiskey Park II is 40615 so as Steff would say, it's doable

If only Toronto could win the East and the AL central runner up wins the Wild Card. My Lord, ESPN would shut down all programming then!
-
To reach 3 million, the Sox must average 38952 for the last 21 games. Even if one game falls below that average, they won't reach it so let's sell these games out!

QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 07:57 PM) I really feel that tomorrow's game will decide the division if we win, I'm really confident we can beat them in the next two series if we lose, 7.5 games back is going to be too tough it's s***ty to place so much emphasis on one game, but here we are even so, we really cannot be unhappy with 69-46 at this point if we can just keep winning series we will still have a chance at even winning 100 games 31-16 is not totally unreasonable I hope you're right. I also hope Ozzie doesn't dump the entire bench into the starting lineup tomorrow
-
Ozzie's failure to pull Garland cost his own team the win today. Plain and simple.
-
Way to go Gooch! C'mon Big Jim! One of your majestic HRs would be sweet now.
-
C'mon Pods, hit a double down the line.
-
I just hope Ozzie lets Brian hit against Rivera. BA's due for a big hit
-
Great comeback. Sox would be ahead if Ozzie was smart and didn't let Jon hang out to dry. Hey Ozzie, Torre pulled Johnson WHILE HE WAS UNDER 100 PITCHES! YOU'RE ALLOWED TO DO THE SAME THING!
-
Man, I'd have taken one of those IF hits last inning. C'mon Joe!
-
Dammit, dammit, dammit! Villone walks the first batter and AJ, Cintron and BA let him off the hook. If that wasn't a kick to the groin, I dunno what else is.
-
Another anemic swing.
-
Boy, that was a lousy swing and was Ball 3.
-
Good eye Joe! Let's go AJ! Get a hit! Keep the train rolling!
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 02:25 AM) I thought that ball was gone. However, this is an example of how Ozzie didn't manage the top of the 7th very well. Garland should have never started that inning, and ARod should have been walked with the open base. Right on. Hope it doesn't haunt the Sox in this game. C'mon, Joe! Rock Villone!
-
Nice job, PK. C'mon Jermaine, get back into this game
-
QUOTE(39th & Wentworth @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 01:52 AM) John got pinched on a few pitches and that has caused him to throw some meatballs over the plate. s*** happens and to compensate he threw over the plate and hung some to get strikes. I personally think that most teams sit back and wait for our entire staff to throw a hanging change up. We have been getting killed with the hanging s***. I hear ya but every pitcher gets squeezed here and there and good pitchers get over it. And there's our leadoff man swinging at the very first pitch, forcing Johnson to pitch as few pitches as possible. And some people wanted Pablo to start every game when Pods hit a skid
-
Hey Hawk, how'd the umpire screw Jon there as Cano crushed another hanging changeup to center?!? And if Ozzie says after the game that Jon threw good tonight, I'm gonna puke
-
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 01:42 AM) We may actually get no-hit. If it's any consolation, if the Sox get no-hit, least it was by a Hall of Famer and not some schlub off the street. And someone tell Hawk to shut the hell up about the umps. "Jon's really upset still about that last inning." I hope he's mad he threw a bad pitch, not blaming someone else.
-
QUOTE(BFirebird @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 01:30 AM) They are awful. Last night was bad and tonight isn't looking much better from the umps. The Sox got every break known to man from umpires in the playoffs so blaming the umps is something Cub fans do. Abreu hit a bad changeup out, which many teams have done against Sox pitching all yr long. If I'm AJ, I'd never call another change again cuz it's never going to get to him.
