  1. C'mon Brian, need a base hit in the worst way! Let's bury Tampa right here!
  2. Look at that, Aj hits a double. Would have cleared the bases last inning. Nice job by Uribe getting him over to 3rd.
  3. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Aug 30, 2006 -> 02:11 AM) I need a roll of Duct Tape for Joey Cora. Nothing violent, just want to tape his hands to his sides. On that note, I'm all for the Mr Blonde treatment from Resevoir Dogs for Joey Cora. Paulie was out by half a baseline. My 2 yr old daughter even knows Paulie ain't scoring from 1st unless the guy behind him hits a HR.
  4. C'mon Joe, pad up the lead that Garcia has almost pissed away.
  5. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Aug 30, 2006 -> 02:00 AM) Hey, shutup, he's a big game pitcher. Not when it's against bad teams. Wonder how Freddy would feel if the White Sox felt like holding back his check just because they felt like it?
  6. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Aug 30, 2006 -> 01:56 AM) Jesus, Freddy. I was actually in a relaxed state there for a while. Offense needs to get back to work. Offense needs to go back to work?!? THEY SCORED SEVEN RUNS WITH THOME OUT! THAT SHOULD BE MORE THAN ENOUGH!
  7. Ozzie can pull Freddy now, he's completely lost his focus after the Sox went up 7 - 0. Can't afford to lose this game cuz Freddy feels like pitching half-assed
  8. Hmmm, they're in the same spot for the WC as before and actually made up 2 1/2 games on the division. Not bad, not great but at least they hung in there. Hopefully, they take care of business with TB and KC with the Twins and Tigers facing NY this week.
  9. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 01:29 AM) Too bad Ozzie didn't bring him in for the 6th last night. The Sox may have won. I still have no idea why we didn't see Brandon warming up in the 5th last night. Knowing how Vazquez has had the tendency to flop in the 6th the last 7 starts with the exception of the Toronto game, I dunno why you don't prepare accordingly.
  10. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 01:21 AM) Punto = pwned. Too bad none of our other pitchers actually attack him like that. The others nibble the outside corner. Right on! Castillio, Tyner, Punto all look to put pitches outside of the zone into play. Anything down the middle and they either fly out or ground out harmlessly. Sox gotta attack their punch-n-judy hitters down the middle and nibble the corners on the Twin power hitters. And Brandon just completed 5 1/3 innings. Anybody believe he's starting for Vazquez next week?
  11. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 08:06 PM) And Cotts could use some confidence. With mauer and Morneau in there lineup it would be nice to have two lefties that we could count on out of our pen. Cotts came into a World Series game and struck out two to hold a 4 - 3 White Sox lead. Confidence isn't what he needs, it's location on his fastball that he needs to spot better.
  12. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 08:05 PM) McCarthy could really use some work. Don't worry about Brandon getting some work, he'll get some tomorrow with Vazquez starting.
  13. QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 08:01 PM) 98 pitches so far. I'd leave him in. Give him the SHO I agree, let Jon finish them off and give the bullpen a complete day's rest.
  14. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 02:07 PM) Bring on the G-Load, Ozzie. Mack LF (OK, so it will be Pods really, but a man can dream) Iguchi 2B Dye RF PK 1B AJ C Gload DH Crede 3B Anderson CF Uribe SS I think that will do just fine for a few days, until Thome returns. I agree with your leadoff guy wholeheartedly but for some reason, Ozzie still decides to trot out Pods out there. C'mon Oz, lead off Mack in LF and the bench gets faster with both Pods and Ozuna to pinch run late! And I'd still rather have Joe bat ahead of AJ with/without Thome. The guy is the best clutch hitter on the team and AJ swings at every damn pitch, even if it's at his head.
  15. QUOTE(BearSox @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 01:28 AM) I still think Jeremy Reed has a shot at being a good major league ball player. He's had two years to prove it. Hasn't really done it.
  16. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 01:49 AM) What about that Brendan McCartney guy? I haven't heard about him in forever. You mean the guy that could start instead of Vazquez or Freddy?!?
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 01:44 AM) It's too bad we had to waste MacDougal last night. Thought the same thing. Riske and/or Cotts could have sucked up those innings last night as that game was long over.
  18. If the Sox lose this game, I wonder who Freddy's going to blame cuz it sure as hell isn't going to be himself.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 01:40 AM) I hate you Scott Podsednik. Leyland just shoved it up Ozzie's ass. In all fairness, Brian was screwed from the second Oz called him to pinch hit. Should have left Pods in and try to bunt with two strikes.
  20. QUOTE(Drew @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 01:33 AM) I want to see Cintron lead off. Eh, Cintron really isn't what you call patient at the plate, at least for the leadoff spot. I don't mind him in the 2 hole but he can't seem to turn around a decent fastball like Mack can. And that wasn't strike 2 on Pods.
  21. Would Mack leading off and playing LF with Brian playing CF work for anyone here? Pods isn't even being patient anymore and Mac is a decent baserunner. At this point with Thome gone for prolly a week with the hammy pull, Ozzie's gotta do something to generate some offense.
  22. Encouraged by the little comeback in the 8th but it was taken away just as quickly by Cotts' breakdown yet again. My Lord, how come Torii Hunter sucks against everyone else but kills us night in, night out?
  23. Good pts, Jordan. I think the other problem with this team is they seem to be tired of how teams are fired up against them because they're the champs. Like KC for example, they were really determined to knock them off and it seems as if the Sox are getting worn down from that competitive intensity night in, night out. That could explain some of the "flat" performances lately. Detroit seems to be the only team that hasn't brought that to the Sox, yet.
  24. This home plate umpire stinks today. I have no idea what the strike zone is for either side. Thome looked at two strikes called for balls (Not that I mind of course) but jeez, a little consistency.
  25. Alright, Johan's gone. Let's get some runs here! Crap! Good shot by Tad but snared by Rincon.
