Sorry southsider but I'm not one of the USA koolaid drinkers that think the Goverment is always going to be honest with us. We screw up too and when they do it's human nature to hide it. I'm not so quick to write this off as bulls***.

Timo's problem IMO is that he gets lazy. When he is into the game and focused then he is a grinder and just what we need. However when he slacks off then he ends up slumping, becoming lazy on the basepaths, and becomes suspect of defense. I don't mind him off the bench but I agree that he didn't deserve most of the praise that was draped upon him.

It still doesn't explain what the hell happened to the airplane and why their was no wreckage from it. Hell I feel like i'm looking at one of those damn "Where's Waldo?" books.

Wouldn't you be too if every time you turned around you were being benched for a slumping power hitter who would swing for the fences, swing at horrible pitches, and barely be able to crack the mendoza line. Not to mention strike out half the time. I think you know who I'm taking about.

Would it really make much sense though to sign Beltran, move Rowand to right. Then turn around and trade Lee. We might as well just keep Lee and use the money we'd save by not getting Beltran (which would be able 7 Mil by the way) to sign a servicable RF and a closer)

I would actually agree with that but then who do we put at 1B. I'm not sure sure Gload could handle a full season. If Gload does start who replaces his role off the bench. Could Everett play 1B maybe?

Just a thought about Willie's lack of stolen bases. Willie is the only fast guy on our team. How many times did we see them throwing over like 10 times to 1B whenever Willie was on base. It's alot easier to steal when your team has more then one realistic stolen base threat. If your the only one on your team then the other team can focus on you. Also just because Willie doesn't steal bases doesn't mean his speed isn't valuable. Noone steals from 1st on a single or double better then Willie. Not only that but does Willie's .262 average and .343 OBP really look so horrible in the 9th spot? Especially considering how good he is defensively.

Lets just give him the job!

Trying to get this thread back on topic here... Anyone else think it kind of defeats the purpose of getting Beltran if it means we have to trade Lee. Don't get me wrong I know that Beltran is better, but is he so much better that he is worth the extra money. Lee for about 8 Mil a year (I don't know the exact figure on what he's making next year so feel free to correct me if i'm wrong) will give us good defense and a nice consistant bat. He's also got fairly good speed. Considering there is no way that we could get Beltran for less then 15 Mil does it really make sense to do it. Plus it gives us another hole in the Outfield that we need to fill in case the Escobar/Borchard/Everett trio doesn't pan out... Just thought i'd put that out there...

Even if Micheal Moore lied about a few things. It doesn't make Bush's sickening disregard for human life any more troubling. George Bush is a sick human being. If he could sell us all out to oil companies he would. He'd take all of our jobs and education money to if he thought he could get away with it. Bush still makes me sick. It's gotten to the point that I can't even look at him on TV. I guess we all have to look forward to the end of the world early if Bush is elected.

In my opinion the article was dead on. However I wish they would of given us more information on how Alex is coming around. If Everett doesn't come back in shape then I think that Escobar is our insurance in RF. I'll be the first to admit that i'm not impressed with Borchard at all but I have to agree with Jim H. I'm sick of all of these people who just come on here and say, so and so sucks without trying to back it up. I think we can all agree that guys like Harris, Borchard, Crede, hell even Escobar haven't lived up to expectations. Do they suck? NO Do they have to work a hell of alot harder to keep their jobs? YES If we were to believe some of the people on these message boards we would be fighting to not come in dead last.

Anyone else think this is a terrible show. I just don't get it.

It's nice to see them pay tribute to the guy. Too bad the only way they could beat the cardinals is if Roger Clemens pitched 3 more of the games...
