What really pisses me off is that everyone is acting like Grilli is doing as well or better then Jon. Please wake up. Jon has been very consistant about keeping us in games and has gone lots of times giving up 4 ER's or less over at least 6. He also has racked up some quality starts. Jason has been getting lucky but there is no way he could do what Jon does at the major league level over a full season.

I think Garland will be much better then a 4th starter next year. He was comparable to other 4th starters around the league this year. A few bad starts made his numbers seem higher then usual. If he is our 5th starter next year then the Sox are going to be a damn good team.

I think it was more the dick sucking comment that got people riled. It's a stupid post and we all got a good laugh out of it.

Ross is a great defensive 1B in my opinion. However I don't want him to be the starter. If we could get full value for Konerko then I would certainly tolerate it but I think Ross best serves us as a utility player. There are cheaper alternatives to put at 1B if we do move Konerko.

AROW needs to stay the #2 hitter at least no matter what. In my opinion if we don't sign anybody Rowand needs to be our leadoff hitter. If we are going to go out and get somebody then we either need to get Ichiro or Crawford. Otherwise it's not worth it.

Beltran isn't going to come any cheaper then 18 Mil a year. In my opinion we should try to make a trade for Jones and make him our CF. If we give them Garland, who in the national league, in a pitchers park, and under the guidence of the Braves coaches could easily be the ace of that staff in less then 2 years. Not only that I think Jones power numbers would increase playing in the Cell. He gives us a great defensive outfield. Plus he's cheaper then Beltran.

Honestly I don't get all the sarcasm and pessimism over next year. If we did nothing in the offseason this is what our lineup would be in 05' CF-Rowand SS-Uribe DH-Thomas 1B-Konerko LF-Lee RF-Everett/Escobar C-Davis/Burke 3B-Crede 2B-Harris You add a stud power hitting OF in there and I say we have a good shot at a contending team next year. I do think we need some trades and moves to put us over the top. Does anyone think it would still in possible to get Andrew Jones and move Rowand into RF. Maybe a trade of Jones for Garland. In my opinion KW did nothing wrong here. Maggs can pretend he's healthy till doomsday. When he starts going to other teams for a contract and starts failing physicals left and right it will be his own damn fault. :fyou Maggs. Don't like the door hit you on the way out!
