  1. Hey guys, Clash of Champions tonight, so it's time to post my predictions since I don't want to do my homework right now. WWE Universal Championship Kevin Owens © -1700 vs. Seth Rollins +800 Owens retains. If Rollins wins we riot. Don't give Owens the title only to give it to Rollins in 2-3 weeks, the title will be dead on arrival. (90% certainty from me) WWE United States Championship Roman Reigns -1725 vs. Rusev +825 © I think Reigns wins via DQ and does not get the championship. The championship does nothing for him right now, Rusev can go on to feud with other people and it'd seem credible. Admittedly, the WWE might give Reigns the win. (55% certain in my result) WWE Tag Team Championships Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson -1050 vs. The New Day © +550 Tough one to predict. Does WWE want New Day to beat the longest streak of holding the belts? It sure feels like Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson's time to be champs, but not sure. I say Gallows and Anderson win wins the belt here (51% certain). WWE Women's Championship Triple Threat Match Charlotte © -505 vs. Sasha Banks +445 vs. Bayley +1250 Charlotte wins. Once again, don't keep having the belt change hands. Not time for Bayley, have her moment more special. WWE Cruiserweight Championship T.J. Perkins -2600 vs. Brian Kendrick +1200 Dunno, don't care yet, I'm sure the match will likely be great. Champion (Perkins?) retains. Alicia Fox © +1000 vs. Nia Jax -2000 lol. Nia Jax (99% certainty) Cesaro +145 vs. Sheamus -185 Sheamus wins. (60% certainty) Sami Zayn -600 vs. Chris Jericho +400 Sami should win here, he needs it more.
  2. So, what does this all mean? TNA = dead down the line? Similar to WCW?
  3. I'm with you Greg. It's really an amazing time to be a live and in the great city of Chicago. I, for one, moved near Wrigley field (within a walk 0.5 mi away) to get to enjoy this wonderful moment coming.
  4. What an enjoyable race this is. I'm rooting for NY or SEA to get in!
  5. That's quite the interesting statement. I was so excited about the year due to the influx of new players. It's sad that this is how it all ended up. Nothing really panned out. Our team sucks and it's a big problem on the scouting/management side of things.
  6. So I'm cautiously optimistic about the bulls this year A core of Wade + Butler + RLopez + Rondo could be some exciting ball. If they can fit together a few more of the more unknown pieces it could be a new, more enjoyable team! No more Drose, no more Noah I am happy about.
  7. Some good thoughts in this thread. A brock vs. Joe WM match would kick ass and be smart as hell if they put over Joe that way. They won't tho. I am really liking the fact that matches now get more time on the PPV's. That is a great thing for story building of matches.
  8. I agree, the two champs are awesome right now. WWE now needs a good guy, a face. John Cena's been that guy for quite some time. Rollins is OK, I think. Reigns fails miserably. Over on SD you don't have much going on. I could see Slater be that guy with some molding over time (he seems very likeable in his character). When Nakumara comes up, he could be great.
  9. Well, it's September, so far Royal Rumble --> Styles debuts to massive roar. Then goes on to feud with Jericho in some great matches, leading to a solid Wrestlemania match. Jericho, oddly, goes over. Then goes on to fight Reigns for the title in some brilliant matches. Defeats Cena 2 times in 1on1 action and has great overall matches. Now defeats Ambrose to become World Heavyweight Champion. This gurantees he's to headline a few more PPV's before the year is over. Namely Survivor Series. What an incredible year!
  10. So Orton has legitimate injury concerns and that killed one of their key matches for the event. Sorry, random Kane sighting blows. (admittedly I was going to pop for a Cena showing) Why make the tag title tournament if there isn't enough good teams? I dig Heath Slater a lot, but a random pairing with Rhyno (whilst being cool) is maybe a tough pill to swallow as the leaders of the tag teams on Smackdown. Uso's turn heel is a good move, but there's literally no tag teams on smackdown! What's the point of having champions of nothing. What is there like 10 different titles now in the WWE? lol. Positive of having only 6 matches per 3 hr PPV is that each match gets time to tell a story. That's nice for a change, it's just too bad nothing is really developing. Miz vs. Zig was a good match, but honestly couldn't care for it as Zig character is long dead. Smackdown desperately needs some time. Needs the superstars to gain experience and experience with the fans to appeal. I am cautiously optimistic for the future!
  11. I check in with it here and there. Love AJ Styles. Actually am very fond of what The Miz is doing. My problem is with everything else . Sure Uso's got a much needed change of personality, but that deed won't make me happy about a tag title tournament that features the dull Uso's vs. 50 year old Rhyno + slater makeshift tag team. I'm interested in Bayley kicking ass on Raw, the Kevin Owens show, HHH vs. Rollins/Reigns (without the title being in the picture), the tag title between new day and AJ's friends. Raw just seems to be killing it.
  12. So we have WWE smackdown presents Blacklish PPV on tap for Sunday night. One of the worst cards I can recall in recent memory created via a really rough smackdown roster. 6-pack womens match, meh. Tag title tournament OK (decently interesting), Miz vs. Ziggler is a matchup thats been done to death (love that they give the IC title prestige, but meh battle here), Style vs. Ambrose (hopefully Styles wins), Orton vs Wyatt who cares Wyatt has been made to look like a fool. Good luck WWE! The good news? Still optimism remains as it is early in the brand split. Backlash could present some new plots, new champions, and so forth.
  13. WWe is in a weird state right now. I don't watch Smackdown, i follow the results tho. Love AJ Styles, hate just about everything else going on on it. However, I will say that it's nice that they are giving time to develop some of the other wrestlers. I hope it all goes well and we get great matches and a new taste, but right now, watching SD is a bit unbearable to me. I read the results and i'm like, da'fuq? Raw has been entertaining the past two weeks, but wtf is up with these consistent squash matches? I think there was 3 of them past week and many in the previous weeks. WHY? It's ok to do it once here and there, but 3 times in the same show???? week after week? It kills the crowd, makes me want to hang myself for watching it, etc. Other than that, Raw is really exciting! Matches again are feeling stale, even tho they are putting on great matches. Reason? Nothing new ever happens in the matches! In the attitude era you had chairs, tables, DQ's, whatever. In the PG era you have one style of good match: a barrage of finishers leading up to either an unpredictable quick pin or a finishing move pin. Great matches, but stale when overused. Really wish they'd keep me on my toes more often.
  14. Cubbies are the best organization in sports today. Get with the program you guys. Please change board to "cubstalk.com" and we can accomodate a new skin (a more blueish tone preferrably). Btw I'd take any bet, Cubs going all the way in '16, probably in '17 too. Health permitting (praise the Lord).
  15. Er, it seems Finn Balor has to give up the title due to injury. What an incredible screw up Summerslam has been. This one, admittedly not WWE's fault, but really tough blow here. Trying to build credibility, boost a new star and the star breaks. Now what to do with the title... Jericho and Lesnar apparently fought backstage after the SS main event. Whewwww.
  16. Why do you think it was scripted due to Shane coming out? That could have easily been last minute improvisation to *try* and save the PPV main event. Main event was awful. Not sure if it was scripted or not, but if it was scripted.... wow, that's *bad*. If it wasn't scripted that way, I'm interested to find out the details. Was Orton not helping with the suplexes (being lifted) so Lesnar just went to town? .
  17. What an amazingly terrible way to end Summerslam. Brock Lesnar opens up randy orton, attacks him relentlessly and wins via TKO? Rofl much? I am beginning to despise Lesnar's matches now. First WM, then takes off entire time to get to SS and both matches were less than 3/5 for me. Maybe 2/5. Awful showing.
  18. Hope Finn Balor wins this match, but I fully expect the wwe veteran Rollins to become the historic first ever Universal Champion.
  19. Ah, so they put the universal title before the US championship and Lesnar vs Ortan fights.... weird.. likely using the US Championship match as the filler in between the two big fights.
  20. From a once-in-a-while watcher of WWE product, seeing Ambrose vs. Ziggler for WWE title is, uh, kind of boring. As much as I dig the Zig, Ambrose in any match is boring to me. This is likely due to the Wrestlemania effect where I had such high hopes for Ambrose vs. Lesnar and it failed so devastatingly.
  21. Not really happy with the Tag Title match. Kind of a dud, Jon Stewart interfering, come on bro! Big E return was nice tho.
  22. Curious - where did you hear that? Why all the drug suspensions lately? WWE cracking down?
