For the record, I think it was silly to use Jansen with a 6-run lead. Should have preserved him and not given the Cubs hitters a chance to see him.

The only team I've ever been a 'fan' of is the White Sox from ~ 02-08 ish. These days, I'm more of a fantasy sports fan, with my only shred of sports fandom left in the Sox, Bears, and Bulls. Of course, living in Wrigleyville has me amped up about the playoffs (Also, I played in an exuberant amount of fantasy baseball leagues this year, likely due to stress of university ). I would likely be more of a 'real' fan of the White Sox if they had any sort of management/front organization that I felt was capable of putting a good product on the field for the fans. I will follow the offseason as I usually do. But for this thread/playoff baseball, I am just an on looker with a very intense observance over the Cubs as they affect my everyday life greatly.

Nice to see Dodgers get this big Win and now the momentum is squarely with them. From the Cubs perspective, all they really need to do is win tomorrow's game to tie the series 2-2. That's got to be OK with them, as I would imagine they are the favorites in Game 6 (no kershaw, and at Wrigley). A game 7 likely falls neutral (Wrigley vs. Kershaw). The tide has certainly changed from a very pro-cubs tide to now a slight advantage Dodgers. As a Sox fan, I am starting to root heavily for the Cubs dismissal. If anything is firing my Sox fandom up it's the Cubs losing.

So there is some LMA trade rumors floating around. Some ESPN analyst said that the 'experiment isn't working out' in San Antonio. Anyone believe this? Is LMA's Defense around the rim the problem?
-
You are right. I apologize, didn't realize what had happened (just read the article). That is bonkers and not fair.

**World Soxtalk Championship Wrestling IV Thread**

you know what my problem is with this angle? (Goldberg vs. BRock)? It will by hyped up to be HUGE, but the match will SUCK. Brock has not had a single good match in 2016. He BLOWS. -
I disagree. The fact is, people want to see the Cubs. That's why they are on prime time constantly. Ratings = results here. Smart move by baseball/media to be doing this.

Game over, series over, Indians winning it all.
-
LET"S GO INDIANS! PUT BLUE JAYS OUT OF MISERY. btw, Jose Bautista thinks there is a playoff conspiracy.
-
Good for the Dodgers to win this one. If they can win game 3, things will really start to be troubling on the north side.

Live off of Sheridan/Irving Park area, close enough with the windows open to hear the loud roars.
-
I heard the roar from Wrigley out my window and got all hyped up only for it to be a Baez fly out to center

Dodgers definitely leaving too many on. Oi vey, that ERA in the 7th inning of postseason baseball for Kershaw is insane (28.36!!!)
-
The only reason why this particular instance would be a failure is because of the long winning-less drought. Cubs haven't won since 1908, so for them, there is a much higher priority of winning the whole thing than any other team. In any logical scenario, having a team go to the playoffs in baseball 7 straight seasons is almost the pinnacle of success. It keeps players, fans, the city motivated and behind the product. It's an organization of winning that so few have. That is truly special and could turn people into life long fans of the product/team.

Marlins fan is back there as well. Haha, what a guy.

Okay guys, game 2 of NLCS. We got Kershaw going. I think it's pretty academic at this point. Either Kershaw brings back the Dodgers to even this series up and we have a series, or the Cubs overcome Kershaw and have this series nearly in the bag. This is the best chance to swing the momentum that LA has. A win here and they are, perhaps, at a slight advantage heading back home.

I'm getting dangerously close to buying the xbox one s halo bundle.

Completely agree here.

Winning a Championship >>> Getting into the playoffs Getting into the playoffs for 10 years straight >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Having 1 championship and 9 years of losing.
-
The only reason Yankees and CArdinals fans 'laugh' at this notion is because they are the picture perfect organizations where playoffs come almost every year (well, at least at an extremely high rate). Success in baseball is getting into the playoffs, that's a winning club. The casual fan needs that. As a life time sox fan, I only truly care about the W'sox when they have a winning club. This year I was invested in the first 30 games or so, the last 132 I didn't observe once. Cubs, on the other hand, I would check out the scoreboard, see what was going on all the time. The casual fan simply wants the chance to cheer for the team. Having a team that gets into the playoffs offers that chance. I'd much, much, prefer a team that doesn't win a title but keeps me invested for 10 years in the playoffs compared to a team that wins 1 title and then has me not caring about it for 9 years.
-
Of course they matter, but what the poster was suggesting that is in baseball, every team has a chance once they make the playoffs. If you have a perennial playoff bound team every year, that is the pinnacle of an organization in baseball. FOr instance, I would take a playoff team for 10 years straight over 1 championship and 9 other years of terrible play.

Thank you! At best, we can hope that this puts immense pressure on the sox organization.
