  1. I am absolutely amazed with the Eaton return. We all knew here how valuable Eaton is a to a team (we've had the 6 WAR thing drilled into our heads now). Therefore, I was expecting a good return and this is the perfect deal to be made. I got to be honest, I'm not sure what the Nationals were doing with this trade, but this is the type of trade that had to be made if someone wanted Eaton. I really thought we'd be stuck with Eaton for the year, but this is great. Off to an amazing start! I am really excited about the W'sox. They needed to make these moves to keep me as a 'fan' of the organization, and they did. Now keep it going and I will follow this organization for a few years for sure.
  2. This is a terrible route to go. Here's what you do. You look at their system, name any guy you want, some 8 or so guys, and you say that the deal is set. Come back and talk if you are ready. Q and Eaton should have insane trade value. Trading them together doesn't make sense... unless the nats really guy their entire system or include turner.
  3. QUIT TURNER! Not going to realistically happen. But Quintana to Nats for Giol/Robles...maybe
  4. We should get the same type of package for Q that we got for Sale. No doubt about it.
  5. Great news that the sox have the *balls* to go out there and dangle their pieces. Promising rebuild.
  6. Get real mate, that trade is a joke. Betts >> Sale alone. This offer with the nats is ... promising.... but it depends on the final pieces added.
  7. NOT getting Turner, end of story. That guy played way too good for him to go anywhere unless you want to due Turner + meh for Sale. The W'sox don't want that, the Nat's dont want this. Go for the other 3, now if they don't allow Lopez in the deal after the top 2, THAT's a problem. Get the top 3 and some other pieces and should be a fair good deal for both. Forget this Turner nonsense.
  8. This would put the LAD likely out of the sale talk (this doesn't mean they would absolutely not go for Sale.. it just wouldn't make as much sense). HOU signing Beltran isn't ideal either... (but it's not devastating). Ah well! Let's go Winter meetings!
  9. I like these ideas, I think we can get more for Abreu tho. Also, in a wishful perfect world, Eaton to NAT for a loaded package
  10. It's pretty simple with Eaton. He's a great player to have on any team with excellent tools. However, he is getting older and he is likely at a very high selling point right now. So it becomes: a) Get a haul for Eaton, similar in trade status to Chris Sale (although slightly lower) and immediately accept this offer. b) Teams undervalue him and you hold and hope to move him at the deadline or next year. Good player, but not at the right time on the 'Sox. Need to rebuild and he can net you a lot of great pieces and lottery tickets.
  11. I'm on the bangwagon of trading Eaton at this all time high value. He should be a great piece for a competiting team so it works out well for both ends.
  12. s*** man! That is amazing!!!
  13. Wow, didn't see the title match results. They really are playing hot potato with the woman's title and it seems Banks wins on Raw's while Charlotte gets the big W on PPV's. Love both competitors. Not sure what to do with Bayley, but they need something different at some point in the woman's division.
  14. I think it's a bit childish and immature to outright reject dealing with the Cubs. I would treat them as any other team and evaluate their offer as I would other offers. If they were willing to start with Baez and Schwarber, we can begin negotiations and set up an offer and cross-check it with other teams. Any logical person would do this and not worry about some sorry rivalry.
  15. If I was the Rangers, I'd be very interested in that deal. I would not like to give up Odor, tho. He is a staple for them now @ 2b with such a great year.
  16. I just don't understand why things can't be simple here. Trade Sale + (Frazier maybe) for a Bergman / Reed / Tucker package + more Trade Quintana + Abreu (or Jones or Melky) for a Beintindi (sp) + more package Trades make a lot of sense on all sides and we get a loaded system. I mean, if I am Boston and I could get Abreu + Quintana, I'm taking that without a doubt!
  17. I definitely think the Astros make a lot of sense. Bergman + their prospects and it's a good deal. Hell, send them Frazier and get some more back. Their going for it now (rightfully so with their ball club) and we need those prospects!
  18. This is Brock Lesnar's style man... Wrestlemania, a 1/5 star match Summerslam against Orton a 0/5 star match Now Survivor Series vs Goldberg a 0/5 match I hear Goldberg is on board for another match at the Rumble (obviously likely vs Lesnar), but if this is the case, why not have a legit match to put over Goldberg? Now it just seems like WWE knew that these guys couldn't go so just squashed it.
  19. 2 Observations on Survivor series ( I haven't been watching in a while) 1. Whoever thought of the whole tag team battle between smackdown and raw .... bad idea.... It's a "fun" match and a nice way to get everybody on the card.... but no seriousness in it, I just don't care. 2. It is nice, however, that they actually have enough teams to fill the match. I think a few more months of the brand extensions and there will be a nice buildup of talent on both sides. These are all just for bragging rights.. would have been nice if they meant *more*...
  20. I am, of course, OK with keeping Eaton and Quintana, but the idea that 'any player of 4 years is off the table' is a bit ridiculous. That's not how you trade. You dangle everyone. I think it would be near impossible to get fair value for Eaton, however, Quintanna is a nice trade chip (albeit, possibly undervalued). I say everything (except Anderson/perhaps Rodon) is on the tale. Everytime I read stories like this I get that pit in my stomache thinking their going to f*ck up the rebuild and do it half-ass.
  21. With the way that RP is valued right now (note: just check the playoffs) Robertson should hold value. Wait and see how the RP market shapes up, trade him for the best offer. Should net back a decent chip or two.
  22. And let's play your game of risks/busts... Cespedes signs a four year HUGe contract... gets injured in the first month and/or busts. Now we are doomed for a bare minimum of two years, and likely for 4-5...
  23. It's going over 200 IMO, but I do think something gets done here. Albeit, it is too early right now. Something is going to happen. It should be a crazy, crazy off-season, more so than we've seen any of the past 10+ years.
  24. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 01:33 PM) Everyone calm Trump will be fine on things like Climate. Stop overreacting. Trump Picks Top Climate Skeptic to Lead EPA Transition You aren't serious right? You forgot the green (sarcasm label)?
  25. Yes, you are missing : -Scientists (future scientists as well -- grad students / undergrad, etc.) -Literally every human being on Earth. Trump is essentially anti-science and believes climate change is a hoax. His presidency has the likely probability of destroying this planet. Climate change is already at terrible stages and likely irreversible, him becoming president likely will put the final nail in the coffin. We are all doomed. Admitedly, any of the other candidates would not have done all too much better, but this is like America saying "f*** you climate, who cares." Which, perhaps ironically, is what they have been doing for years now, so...
