  1. Nevermind. I was wrong. Send Gio back to the minors too.
  2. He will not be good, but it will be a good game. He will be lucky. The Rangers suck. Book it. QS from Gio tonight.
  3. Gonna be a good game tonight from Gio... I don't predict he will be good, but he will be lucky.
  4. The change for me has been Bennetti... he doesn't make as many useless small jokes... ...Also another big change is that Stoney doesn't diss him as much.
  5. 1. The announce team has really built on me lately. The first few games I couldn't stand them, but now, I actually really enjoy them. Cheers! 2. Our team is a fucking disaster. Seriously. Moncada is the only thing that means anything. Anderson is somewhat nice, and Abreu is cool, but Abreu is iffy in regards to the future and he needs runners on base to be productive. Outside of that, there's fucking nothing. Our pitchers get absolutely annihilated. Our RP is just trash, like horrible trash. Our SP has no one on it that gives me any faith. This team is HORRID. I came in with thoughts that maybe we'd find some decent RP with these fireballers and we'd have Gio and ReyLo to look forward to. Maybe Fulmer would surprise and reach some potential. All has failed.
  6. I agree with others here... ...send him down, hope he regains/changes something, if all else fails, send him to be a RP and if that fails, the White Sox scouts failed on that one.
  7. This is a *very* interesting discussion, I think. Starting from the old days when SP's would have no problem throwing 9 innings and so... Merging to the present where pitchers can't throw past 6 IP or 100 pitchers and now we are seeing SP end their night after they throw too many 'stressful' pitches (tough situations). Then looking a head to the future where the game might be a team of RP and playing match ups due to analytics. Not sure how I feel about all this yet, but it's a great discussion. Good thread.
  8. Can I speak for a moment on the quote: "Ricky's boys don't quit!" That is awful. First, it's an insult to the fans that anyone might be 'quiting'. These guys are getting paid $$$$$$ to play, I don't care what the score is. You don't quit. Am I supposed to believe that the General Manager is responsible for this? Next, the quote is like OK we are fucking terrible, but hey, at least our manager doesn't allow us to quit! I hate it.
  9. You know... I'd really like Yolmer... if he wasn't our third best/most exciting hitter :|. If he was something like our 9th best hitter or a bench player... i'd really be a fan of his.
  10. Yeah -- as others have said, it's cold out. Ugly. Not nearly as bad as those april games... but meh. Let's go Moncada.
  11. Don't know what that's based on, but meh, I'd prefer them up sooner IF they are ready. I'm especially directing that towards Eloy since he seems ready at the AA level.
  12. Well, they one-upped it by random-ass giving Asuka a title match against Carmella too now. They hate the women's divisions.
  13. Lopez was doomed for a bad outting. "His K:BB is really bad, his HR rate is high and he has a 50% FB rate, his babip is super low and his strand rate is high. FIP of 4.92 and xFIP of 6.54."
  14. Lopez has no chance of getting in the All-star game. I fear that he will have a catastrophic crash here soon. His underlying statistics are not in his favor. Regression fairies will work on him.
  15. The NL rules suck. Timmy Anderson batting in front of the pitcher. Ugly
  16. So today was the first time in a while where I refused to watch Raw. The reason was because of the announced Nia Jax vs. Rousey match for MITB. This is the type of booking that isn't just *bad* it is division breaking and there is no win here. The only thing I can think about is that WWE is trying to make up for Brock not being available, so they decide to put Rousey in a title match to appease the fans. That's absolutely bonkers. Fan's don't just want to see Rousey, they want to see her in a coherent feud/story. So, Rousey, who hasn't had a singles match in WWE is now being given a title shot against Nia Jax for no reason whatsoever. Saying that alone is bad enough, as it is a slap in the face to the division. But it's not just that. What do they do now? Do they give Rousey the clean win and absolutely destroy their face 'beast' champion Nia? Further, the alure of Rousey quickly dies as she's reached the pinnacle of the division (championship) and doesn't have to ever 'chase' after the title belt alluding to my face vs. heels point made earlier in this thread. Do they let Nia defeat Rousey and thus hurting the allure of Rousey being the dominating persona that they've been building up all of 2018? Extremely unlikely. Most likely, it's a match that ends in a DQ finish or possible a match that Rousey wins and then immediately gets MITB cashed in by someone like Alexa. Both choices are pretty sad. This is a no-win situation and it's absolutely crushing to the women's division. Good job WWE. You have a global star in Rousey and randomly decide to put her in a title match against Nia of all people. Un fucking believable indeed. Also mentioning this hurts Rousey's character as she 'doesn't want to be handed things,' however is constantly handed things .
  17. Holy shiat, I forget that this team has Hayward as well. Jeez. Hayward, Horford, Irving, then the young guys. Solid overall team but no super-stars.
  18. I'm with you... I can't stand any of them and honestly don't follow them what so ever. I have no expectation of them being on any winning white sox club. To be honest, I couldn't even name them on most random days and I watch almost all White sox games (that's how little I care about their at bats and how little my expectations are of them). I want them gone. They aren't fun.
  19. I don't know how many times I have to explain to you peons that it is logically consistent to enjoy the game or show and be critical of the team/show. In fact, it is often a major sign of enjoyment. Spending time to write critiques often shows a level of passion/enjoyment. However, it is rather silly to expect the 2018 white sox to compete. We are throwing out James Shields for heaven's sake.
  20. some of you sours in here are pretty sad TBH. What did you expect? This line up sucks, the pitching sucks, this is just how it is. Enjoy the game!
  21. I want to go on a mini-rant about heels and faces on WWE Raw. There is a topic over at wrestling forum and it discusses how Raw has unlikable babyfaces, and goofball heels that lose all the time and this is very much the truth. -- Faces -- Roman Reigns - "I should be champion, WWE managements are playing backstage politics and they're bullying me" Braun Strowman - "I beat up everybody and I win all the time" Seth Rollins - "I'm HHH's second wife and I win all the time" Finn Balor - "I'm HHH's third wife and I win all the time" Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt - "We're crazy and we win all the time" Bobby Lashley - "My big sister bullied me so now I beat up everybody" Nia Jax - "I'm a victim of bullying so now I beat up everybody" Kurt Angle - "I'm a good guy now, so I'm gonna bully all the bad guys on the show" Bobby Roode - "I should be a heel" -- Heel -- Owens, Zayn, Elias, Mahal, etc. - "We lose, get beat up, and look stupid almost every week" Fact is, heels should be winning matches most of the time. They should be holding belts most of the time so faces can overcome obstacles and help fans form emotional bonds. But because the faces are winning all the time, the paradoxical effect occurs when the heels become faces because the crowd is tired of seeing the same people win. However, these heels are cheating and insulting crowds at the same time. So the fans are confused. I am confused. We all tune out. Seriously, who is booking current WWE? Do they watch the WWE network? It's ass-backwards. You have a naturally likable character in Sami Zayn being a goofy heel that loses all the time. You have a powerhouse Heel in Owens losing all the time and getting beat up constantly (with a few good beat down moments like when he beat down Vince/Shane/Bryan being exceptions). Elias being the comedy act. You have a natural heel character playing a baby face in Bobby Roode and the result is a character that's almost as boring as Randy Orton. Does anyone actually like Bobby Lashley? Resuts say everything that is needed to say about Roman Reigns and as Stone Cold alluded to, Braun better watch out with his booking, otherwise he'll quickly go the route of Big Show in 2010's. It just boggles my mind how something this simple can be consistently hard for WWE writers to deal with! There NEEDS to be tough heels that are dominant for the baby faces to get cheered as they chase for the title. Brock Lesnar is a decent heel in this regard. He is dominating, but he is hardly there and everybody knows his schtick...
