  1. This is the same guy that stole a 30 dollar belt in the off-season.
  2. QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 09:14 PM) but let's say you have the internet and can't see the game. aren't you going to just watch the game on mlb.com or cbssportsline? i agree though. the constant b****ing and knee jerk reactions do get boring and tiresome. Mlb.com and cbs both run into troubles alot i have heard... therefore the people reading the game thread for quicker updates. Not to mention the updates are almost instantly.
  3. Mario austin last year in europe. 19.8 pts a game 34.5 MPG 50.4 FG% 52 2PTFG% 16.6 3PT% 51 EFG% 6.15 RPG~~~ That is icky considering the minutes per game he played. 1.28 APG
  4. QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) game threads would be great if actual discussion took place there. the constant "dye flies out. 2 outs" and the like are useless. about 8 percent of it is good. When there are certain posters there *cough*jim *cough* and a few others there is great discussion in there. When they are not it is pretty s***ty overall, like today. Well today was actually pretty funny at the end.
  5. Timo, he has come through in the clutch all year for us.
  6. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 07:19 PM) What is with the servings of food here? Yeesh. I'd gain more than 20 pounds in a couple of months over here. Love the Steaks and buying in bulk though. 6 packets of Pringles for $4!!??? They cost $3 per packet down under. Packet = container? I never know with your crazy talk.
  7. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 06:03 PM) was spotted at the Cubs game with a Cubs jersey today. WTF??? That sh*t shouldn't be happening. I rather him be a Twins fan than a Cubs fan. And Jennifer Aniston allegedly was there too. Vince Vaughn, you are now a jagbag. Aniston+ the douche= couple. :puke
  8. QUOTE(AirScott @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 05:52 PM) that's because the numbers are deceiving. for example, Trevor Hoffman's ERA this year is 3.95, but he gave up 4 runs in his first outing. with the few innings that relivers pitch, one outing can really make them look like they're having a bad year, but Hoffman's ERA had he not pitched that game is 2.70. he's been his usual self besides that game, which is why they say that. Relievers era are the most decieiving. Not starting ptichers or batters. Konerko hit .218 in april and .228 in may. Yet he has a great june and people are slurrrrrrping him. Konerko is the definition of one dimensional and needs to say his good byes at the end of the season.
  9. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 05:46 PM) The thing is, that's only 1 bad month out of 3. What about Paul Konerko? He had 2 bad months, and yet people would say he still has pretty good numbers (since he's been hitting for power). It's not o.k. for a player two take a couple months off of the season... if they do suck for any good amount of time it should be acknowledged. I bet you konerko could hit .219 all season and people would still love him if he hit 40 homers while making 8.75 million to do so.
  10. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) Preparing to be Flamed; Joe Crede April - .304/.368/.456 June - .275, 6 HR, 17 RBI in 25 games this month. Just sayin'. Thing is we cannot pick and choose when players are good. If that was the case we could take away vizcaino's four worst outings and he would look solid. I never really understand the why people say "" you take away that game he gave up 11 runs he would have a really nice era''. Well guess what? He did give up those 11 runs and his era doesn't look so pretty.
  11. QUOTE(Southside hitmen @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 05:33 PM) CBS Sportsline rumor mill says The White Sox are spending a lot of time scouting Giants P Jason Schmidt, says the Chicago Tribune, but the Daily Southtown believes a more likely deal would see Chicago packaging Joe Crede to Oakland in a deal that could return Eric Chavez. How awesome would it be if we got both Schmidt&Chavez Yes, a trade for chavez would revolve around crede. Give me a break.
  12. QUOTE(dasox24 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 05:06 PM) Schenscher and Morris are widebodies who could also provide inside bulk, and maybe takeover Reiner's role. What, be the big goofy looking white guy at the end of the bench or on the dl ( black in morris's case)? Wouldn't it be awesome to get payed and do nothing but fake injurues and work out with the team in practice?
  13. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 05:25 PM) Yes, exactly. We don't need a 30-40 homer a year guy with 100+ RBI's, who is becoming the team leader. Let's all clamor to break up the Sox and go with a bunch of cheap free agents. I think we need to be careful of what we wish for because we just might get it and next year be wallowing in the basement of the AL Central. Um, no. We will have plenty of money to sepnd next season even after increased contracts. to upgrade the pen, get a replacement for konerko, (we could always do what dbaho suggested and move dye to first anderson to right). Trading contreras for something is always a possibility and then signing another starter... we have alot of options and are in good shape for next season.
  14. QUOTE(VAfan @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 05:17 PM) So what if Vizquel retires after 3 years. We don't have Uribe signed for any longer than that. As for Vizquel aging, I'm not worried at all, especially if we begin to rest him against lefties. Plus, I watched the Giants game the other night and he doesn't look any older than he did at 30. You don't see the decline with the bat and the legs like you saw with R Alomar. I think the Sox need to improve their hitting for the postseason but they have only limited possibilities to do so. The two potential places for improvement are SS and 3B. I think SS is likely to yield a much greater return than 3B where Crede at least has proven power and has learned to start taking pitches to right field. Vizquel has the added dimension of being a lefty, a tremendous bunter, someone who can steal a base (13 this year out of 20 attempts), and he can work the count and draw a walk. In other words, a perfect player for Ozzie-ball. The white sox will not trade for him so i don't understand all of this vizquel talk. If we really wanted him we could have had him in the off-season without giving up any prospects at all. The third year was the deal breaker for us, as it should have. If vizquel only had one more year left on the contract i would be all for it... but he doesn't. I would not trade uribe for him in any sort of deal, we would be losing 13 years right there. Even if we did trade for vizquel majikly we would then have a back-up infielder making two million plus.
  15. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 05:03 PM) Nanner, nanner Aussie linky Never says whether it was texas or arizona... but it was definitely the rangers. Dye also called sweeney, still a good friend of his, asking to cut a deal with allard . Baird said dye was too old for their team and not fast enough.

  17. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 04:39 PM) Another thing on Vizquel, who's going to replace him? Devi cruz started over 100 games at short for them last year.
  18. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 04:24 PM) I think you were sad to lose Royce RING, not Wing. Was anyone really sad to see either go?
