QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) that was truly an amazing game especially after the previous game... couple notes is Othella while he did have a good couple of games should not be in the game for a long time im thinking 5-10 mins is good for him... and piatkowski should only be in a game during garbage time because thats how good his play is... I know he seems like a good veteran leader and all but he really is bad.. i rather see Pargo or something in there... Hell id rather we kept dupree he could play some defense. And Sweetney played offely good against us thats surprising because he reminds me of the old curry in a way. Just so you know piatkowski is shooting threes awfully good this year and his defense has been acceptable. He is a nice guy to have on the team believe it or not. Wharris hates him but i am his number one fan.

QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) dupree is freaking horrible, and sweetney is only good because hes fat You know nothing about basketball if you think sweetney is only good because he is''fat''.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 01:38 PM) I dunno how does he fare against the AL Central?

QUOTE(soxman352000 @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 03:14 PM) I would leave it to Arron he has earned but I don't think he would mind moving to a corner position. Wasn't he brought up as a corner outfielder? Yes, i believe he didn't play much center field in the minors.

QUOTE(bmags @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 04:00 PM) villanueva's isn't bad... and you shouldn't give one example as the rule of thumb. Two more from last year. Carmelo anthony and wade. If they were not on the nuggets and the heat neither team goes to the playoffs last year.

He is decent.

QUOTE(soxman352000 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 09:36 PM) When is his contract up? 2007.

Osuna>cotts, adkins, diaz, grilli, etc.

QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 12:45 AM) Jamal's biggest problem.... didnt know the good shot from the bad shot. I know this is said quite often... but his Basketball IQ was pretty low. He is right up there for worst shot selection with carmelo anthony.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 12:05 AM) i was always a big fan of crawford when he was here... and hell i mean last year he was the only one who would want to take control of the game with Kirk being pass happy and Curry being half ass so i didnt mind it than... Also i think him and Curry really seemed to have some nice chemestry together... But although i was sad he left i understand how he wouldnt fit in on our current team. His problem is he is a onme trick pony for the most part. He shoots and does not shoot it well. Big deal.

QUOTE(Scwible @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 11:12 PM) would be nice to get another. I hear Jamal WILL play tomorrow/today depending on when you read this. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...ack=2&cset=true What a little b****.

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 09:23 PM) That's not a rumor, just Barry saying they should think big. Damn near everyone on Minnesota can be had right now in a trade except for Kevin. He comes up with this stupid s*** too often.

Twins sign former Tiger Eric Munson
qwerty replied to JDsDirtySox's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Sox should have done this, and i am serious. -
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 07:56 PM) Agreed. I would love to see Graff back here, but Everett's going to prove to be valuable, especially while Frank's out. Exactly, and even when thomas does come back he sounds like a wee bit better option than timo to be our fourth outfielder.
-
QUOTE(greg775 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 07:47 PM) I'd trade Everett for Graff and the Royals might do that if we pick up some salary. Royals are desperate for some punch. Everett>>>graffanino.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 07:14 PM) I agree with qwerty that ARow has to lower his # of errors. Many times last year he caused the Sox a run because of a bobble or a mishandle or something. He tries to do the "Pro Hop" where he scoops it up, leans back, and then guns the ball home. Seems like every other game he either runs by a ball or can't pick it up. 99.& percent of the time it is not called an error, but it is very frustrating.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) Thats good news from JR. At least he TRIES to spend money on 1 of his teams. *Sigh* Seriously though, I hope they can resign both. It was keep the team motivated. It's really great that Curry has tepped up his offense and Tyson is turning into a defensive monster! Chandler realistically can be every bit as good as ben wallace if he gets the right amount of minutes. The last 5-10 games his block numbers have been sick. He is also an on of the elite rebounders in the league. Next year he needs to get 35 minutes per game not 28, then we can really see what type of player he is gonna be.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 05:53 PM) Thats what happens when 90% of the board are young kids who nothing about the sports in general. Wtf are you talking about?

I still want to see rowand cut his errors in half from last season. He has too many for a my liking.

Brewers fan say podsednik is highly overated in the field. So i am gonna take their word for it. I agree with with what addison said.
-
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 03:20 PM) While your at it, trade Podsednik to the Mets for Beltran, with the Mets paying all of Beltran's salary, as well as throwing a PTBNL who turns out to be Pedro, and they pay his salary too. Then, in a stunning developement, Adkins is traded to LA for Gagne. Randy Johnson backs out of the contract extension with the Yanks, and comes to Chicago for Jose Contreras. Oh yeah -- and Barry Bonds, Albert Pujols, Miguel Tejada, and Scott Rolen all quit their respective teams and join the Sox, and are paid through hot dogs and peanuts. What do they get to wash down the hot dogs and peanuts?

QUOTE(Ishmookie @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 12:07 PM) maybe they want to bring osuna back? Can only hope.

QUOTE(raff @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 02:49 PM) daal, astacio, ashby all possible, although none would be cheap, prolly costing 3 mil a year at least. i would like to add an insurance arm. what about williamson? kw already tried to trade for him. All three of those will be right less than amillion most likely. Also, williamson will be out all next year. I suppose the sox could sign him to an incentive ladden deal.

QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) Mark Buehrle will get the nod on Opening Day over Freddy Garcia, manager Ozzie Guillen said yesterday. Was there really any doubt?
