QUOTE(chisox2334 @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 06:23 PM) Funny how the attiude has changed from earlier. LoL people now dont get mad if takes awhile get Iguchi lol. Great signing and quite frankily everyone kinda expected come here. I would rather go the cheaper route with cairo but if we get iguchi i will not be disappointed.

Most Improved Player In The NBA

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 06:17 PM) He's come on as of late, though: Miles' Game Log His rebounding and his defense has improved immensely. Check out all of the turnovers that he has forced over the past 15 or so games. He is another one that needed to go to college in my opinon. He is already a good role player but he could have been a very good start if he want to college for at least a couple years. But of course not. I do not like him because he cannot hit a free throw to save his life. -

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 06:11 PM) I also thought about adding Mehmet Okur and Darius Miles to that list. If the poll allowed for 15 options, I'd add those two, Chris Mihm, Jason Hart, and Damon Jones. Okur got that huge contract though, and he did make some noise in limited minutes as a Piston, so I can't say that I'm surprised by what he has been doing since mid-December: Okur's Game Log Miles has hardly improved. I don't think he would belong on that list. -

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 05:56 PM) Brevin Knight....I hadn't really thought about him since the late 90s. He was completely off my basketball radar. This year, only Steve Nash averages more assists per game. Knight's Game Log He had 34 assists in back-to-back games against Detroit in late November. I guess that you can make more of a case for Comeback Player as opposed to Most Improved Player, since he did average over 7 assists per game from 1997-1999. Career Stats I agree with come back player. He is better suited for a stacked team offensively or coming off the bench. But he is doing a fine job with the talent he has around him. -
Either i have to change my change my name or pierz. I am gonna hear my name way too often.

QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 05:28 PM) Does anyone else think that many of AJ's doubles and triples will become homers here in the AL version of Coor's? I hope so....I am a little worried still about losing the HRs with Lee and Magg's departure I expect 15 possibly twenty. Anything more than that is pushing it in my opinion.
-
QUOTE(farmteam @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 05:26 PM) YES! I jumped up and down for joy when I heard the Sox got AJ. Add Iguchi...PLEASE. Also, where have you guys heard this about Nenn? I haven't heard about anything between the Sox and him. Do we even have spots in our bullpen? Someone that lives in san fran heard it on the radio. But that is about it. If it was true some how, adkins or cotts would and should be sent down.

New A.J. info--Sox have him for at least two years
qwerty replied to maggsmaggs's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If anything they will just sign him to an extension during the year. I highly doubt they let him go into arbitration. -
QUOTE(Mr. Zero @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) If anyone dares to yell at KW during Soxfest I will send an army of angry robots after them. At this point and time, I can easily call this an offseason. Iguchi would just be icing on the cake, and Nen would be the sprinkles. About nen, does anyone really feel that the giants would not offer him at least a minor league deal? I think he would accept there over two of the best hitting parks in baseball.
-
QUOTE(chisox2334 @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 03:28 PM) Take your pic people Aj or Iguchi. I gurantee it will only be one of them not both Just curious, why is that?
-
QUOTE(FlaCWS @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 04:21 PM) I have to believe you keep Davis. He's the better defensive catcher and he's a switch hitter. They both suck defensively.

Dybber, rowand will be in center and podsednik in left. But i am sure podsednik will play in center when rowand has an off day.

QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 01:38 PM) definitely bobby simmons this guy has just been phenominal, you know whos not on that list is primoz brezec, hes been a stud for charlotte in the early months Brezec=stud? Nice back up center maybe. He could actually be a starting center on a good team. But the bobcats ( that name always makes me laugh) are not a very good team. -
QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 01:35 PM) ugh no i hated graffanino, not a big fan How can you hate graf? When he was with us, he was one of the top utility men in baseball. I know i sure wouldn't mind having him back.
-
QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) You realize that would be ten times better than our OF right????? If Maggs is healthy and plays even 75% of what he has played throughout his career Ten time better? You cannot be serious. Patterson is not that good of a hitter. Sosa is an overpayed piece of s*** that can no longer hit for any average. Then you get to ordonez who will be on the dl a couple times at some point next season.
-
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 01:20 PM) Ya right. I do recall numerous interviews with Scott Boras where he says I don't believe in Hometown discounts or something to that extend. I do think there is a good shot the Cubs will land him. However, the Orioles have been rather quiet of late and could make a push. They have said they wanted to add another big bat ( why not a pitcher i will never know) so i feel it will either be ordonez or delgado. I feel the talks with delgado will start heating up.
-
QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 01:20 PM) true they now have too many infielders, im guessing they are going to use robbie alomar to pinch run, because they have eckstein and now grudz, they have a mess in the infield Alomar is not signed yet. Has not been made official yet that i know of.

White Sox and Iguchi far apart in Negotiations

QUOTE(fathom @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 01:16 PM) How do we exactly know what the Sox budget is? Since when did we get into the 75 million range like a lot of people on this board seem to think? I've always thought we were more in the 66-70 range. I have heard the low side is 72 and up to 75 for the right players. Or if we were gonna make a push at the dead line. I think pierz is the ''right'' player. -

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 11:32 AM) The thing that bugs me about Eddy is his average of 6.5 rebounds per game. He has only had 5 games all season with 10 or more rebounds. These shooting guards also have a 6.5 average: Kobe Bryant, Quentin Richardson, Tracy McGrady, Paul Pierce, and Jason Richardson. He has the some of the worse hands for a big man in the nba if not the worse. He loses three to four rebounds a game that he should have had. On the other hand, chandler has the smallest hands i have ever seen for a big man and is an elite rebounder. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 01:06 PM) Anyone that doesn't think that the million dollars given to Timo wouldnt be helpful for the Sox right now is naive. We all know that the Sox are concerned with every little penny they spend. If we miss out on a starting catcher or a starting 2b because we spent too much on a reserve outfielder that we didn't even need, then I will lose even more respect for KW and JR. WEe have the money to spend to get both of them. I am sure you knwo that i also think timo is overpaid. But in this case it does not affect us signing either pierz or iguchi. -

Ya, 300,000 somthing dollars dollars is nothing when it comes down to it. If that is what is preventing the deal from getting done, the deal will get done. -
QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 12:19 PM) Well, it could mean one less suitor for Cairo. (Cards were still in the running for him last I heard, but that was a while ago, so maybe not.) I don't agree that Grudz sucks, though, seems like a pretty good hitter to me. Butcher in the field. Does not even look like he knows what he is doing out there.
